A really comprehensive review, very informative, thank you so much. It all sounds very Benign until you start looking at the new platoon builder element and realize you could be facing 8 artillery pieces and a couple of artillery observers, suddenly it becomes Artillary Action, slightly different to Bolt Action.

Had a flip through and thought that the updates were pretty good. The only negative thing in my mind now is the re-purchasing of the army books. Looking forward to playing a game where 6s followed by 6s are rare.

In fairness a lot of the army books needed a reprint especially minor powers which are 10/11 years old.

So, it’s as safe to stay in the open than be in a building when being shot at by HE? I lost 3-4 squads in a recent tourney when I went into a building in 3 different games .

Is it the case that pistol armed units have been nerfed , I have a couple of units of Chinese Nationalist armed with pistols are these destined to live on the shelf from now on 😢🤔

Wow a third edition for all of Warlord Games to flog to their customers, what’s next 100 new army list books that everybody needs to play v.3 just before they launch v.4. What a con, why is no one saying this, and to top it off the rules are crap! 😂😂😂😂

It was a much needed bringing together of the rules from ammendments, campaign and theatre books. 3 editions in 10 years is not too horrendous I think.

I have to buy one rulebook and an army book every... eight years? For a game that doesn't demand I use proprietary miniatures, which I can get from manufacturers around the world or even 3D print my own. Oh yeah, I love being fleeced. ✌

So, I have played it, but I don’t like seeing heavy artillery on the same table as my infantry platoon, beside heavy armour and mortars. It’s 40k dressed up in 1940s outfits. I appreciate some people do like it and that’s fair enough, good for them. I have played extensively in competitions but now prefer scenario based games. A bit like former smokers, firmer comp gamers hate points based armies and games that have a game length of 6 turns! As for the Warlord Games model it is GW writ large and you can see this every month in its domination of certain wargames mags. But, if that’s what you want, good for you as wargamers we’re all gluttons waiting to be fleeced by the next shiny thing. 😂😂😂😂
