I believe this is the key to reviving AE. This would also allow an MTO style service to satisfy higher quality orders. Thus, returning to the quality AE had in the past.

Those are gorgeous !!! I too am a huge Allen Edmonds fan. It's soooo nice to be able to get a quality shoe in a 15D !! Strands always catch my eye, love a Strand Weave too (have one pair in black). A big fan of the Hamilton boot (two pairs), and it's Oxfords all the way for me. Yep, six eyelets do it for me too, no "cross" lacing to try to hide with an even number of eyelets. I've fallen in love with the fit I get with the 201 last shoes... they fit my hooves like a glove... the one for the Strand (65?) is a close second in fit.

My blue AE Neumoks are my absolute favorite dress shoes. I also have a pair of Navy waxed-flesh Wesco boots. I have this thing for blue shoes, they just make me sooooo happy. If I could somehow get a Dalton or 5th Street in the blue Shell I’d jump on that so fast!!!

I just re=watched this video and noticed a brogue hole was not empty on the heel counter of the left shoe heel counter. The perforation is there, but the hole should be gone/empty. Is this something you could remove, so it matches, or if you try to remove it yourself, it may mess up the shoe? Seems like a miss from AE - especially on shoes that will get so much air play on your channel. I love AE's, but it sometimes seems like they don't pay very close attention to details. These shoes are truly stunning, but that was an obvious miss in my opinion.

Maintenance on shell is easy. Shoe cream, a good brushing, and then the occasional small layer of wax and a brush. See my shell Cordovan tutorial for a full video

Hi Preston, I can't even tell you how many times I've watched your video on the acquisition of your navy shell cordovan Strands and I still feel, after each viewing, they are the absolutely perfect Strand. I love the look of those shoes so much it is literally beyond belief. To say they are beautiful is clearly an understatement! I am now in a position to order a pair for myself at the next Cordovan Trunk Show and I wonder if you'd be so kind to answer a few questions about these shoes now that you have had them for about a year. It would be much appreciated.🤞 1) You mentioned in your video that you ordered the "natural" welt and felt it was the perfect choice. Do you still feel that way? BTW by any chance do you know what other choices AE offers? 2) In the video you dyed the edges "mahogany brown" which look stunning! I've noticed that "antique" edging is available form the factory and I wonder is that the same color as "mahogany brown"? 3) Once again having worn them for a year, any further thoughts or comments that potentially could impact my purchase? BTW I will order double JRs and will have triumph toe plates installed. Preston, I totally enjoy your videos and genuinely appreciate your commentary. Thanks again, -Bob P.S. Just found this video. I saw these at that trunk show a couple years back and like you was blown away by the navy shell but I pulled the trigger and never regretted it. This is the first time I have seen another pair of them. The transition they make from near black to blue, blue/green has to be seen to be appreciated. I don't wear them much but they are definitely one of the bright spots in my collection. Looking forward to receiving my natural shell strands from this past show. Absolutely stunning shoes. Wear them in good health.
