I am light-headed right now learning all of this information about narcissistic women. I can't believe how the woman that I love turned out. I recognized so many red flags but chose to overlook them because I blamed it all on her traumatic childhood. She completely played on the kindness of my heart. Now that she knows that I know what she is, she has dropped me and is treating me as if I never meant anything to her. I treated this woman's child as if they were my own. I loved them both unconditionally. She slowly created distance between me and her child and told them not to ask for me anymore. I was doing great in life before meeting this woman. She has ruined a piece of me. I thought she really loved me. How can I trust another woman after this?

That sounds awful mate. So sorry to hear that. I would honestly take a good long while away from romantic interactions to heal and rebuild and arm yourself with knowledge to help prevent something like this happening again in the future. Learning the red flags and obeying then when they appear helps. Many of us, including myself, have a bad habit of observing red flags but then continuing nonetheless. This is usually because we have a self-love deficit - we become dependent on the input from others to let us know that we have value. Learning to self-validate is really key. These are just a few thoughts that come to mind, but there's a lot more to learn. Take it one day at a time. And always trust your gut.

My ex didn't agree when I finally told her that I was sick and tired of being treated so much more differently than everyone else and being put on the back burner for everyone else. I was told that I was just "jealous" or I was full of crap. No, I know exactly what I saw. I was put on the back burner for everyone and everything else. She treated the neighbors better than she treated me. That crap hurt and she didn't care. She always made time for everyone else and when I wanted to spend time with her there was always an excuse, either she wasn't feeling well or she was too tired. All that I was was a tool. You can call me a fool as well for putting up with it. I wasted over twenty-three years loving someone who didn't love me but I would not change having my children for anything. I just pray that my oldest sees the truth. I miss her so much.

Another tip I’ve noticed - they’re often weirdly obsessed with dogs (and def not cats) but that’s NOT to say all dog-lovers are narcs. And they’re odd/weird with young children. Like they’re talking to mini adults and have zero ability to get down on their level and really “play” with children.

My last two exes, one of which is my son's mother, are both colluding to take away my parental rights and possibly even send me to prison. Ive been living with one I have two kids with. I am trapped. Always cast aside and given silent treatment when she doesn't get what she wants. You'd be shocked to find out who she works for. She is a master of PR for her own self. I have felt the lowest I have ever felt in my life. If you knew her in the workplace or outside of work you'd think I was the problem. I seem to always be unsettled and anxious. I have adhd, anxiety, and ptsd and she loves nothing more than to stoke my anxieties and then say " look at how unstable he is". They don't realize it's her that's made me feel that way and mine for being an idiot and not seeing this sooner. She puts me down and anyone else in her sphere but loves to mask herself in the eyes of others. It's imperative for her to win every time. In every argument. In every way. But for what? This part confuses me. Why? Why treat someone that way?

Looking back on it, I can't help but think that the only word I can use to describe this person is evil. In fact, she has a look that looked downright evil when taking pleasure in her diabolical actions. You are very right lady. I echo your recommendation - everyone should be educated to detect these behaviour and run away. I got my narcisistic adoptive father, which is a high functioning type so he remained covert a long time until we realized what was the issue. And then a business partner that deceived me for only a few months but caused a lot of pain in my group. After that I learnt a lot and now I can spot narcisistic traits a mile away. I think the ending of your video explains things for me: you say you should wait until you know someone better before making a judgement about them. I have always assumed the best in people and been very open with people from the very beginning, only closing off if the person proves undesirable. Excellent. I’ve had many narcissistic people in my life. Both men and women but my older daughter is a psychopathic malignant narcissist and it she has broken me to the core. At 43 she is worse than ever. Severely abusing me now that I’m elderly and very ill. She is evil and vile and sadistic. She is covert and fools almost everyone including police, judges, psychiatrists, etc. she abuses her 4 young children and one point that really hit me is when you said they are at every school function to show what a great mother she is. When I couldn’t take anymore and told her she’s a terrible mother the first thing she said was, “I’m at EVERY school function”. That’s what is important to her. Meanwhile she abuses every child in a different way. She’s cruel, a pathological liar and dangerous. My situation is horrific but hoping I can get away soon. Thank you. I’m saving this podcast.

My wife was raised by a male narcissist, she learned well. For four years she told me she hated her narcissist father, then when our child was born, she turned into him. She's run away with our child and called me abusive to alienate me from him. The state and family court side with her, despite no evidence. She's been homeless and now lives in a motel with our son. The sheriff's and judges treat me as a criminal. I just want a healthy, loving and nurturing home environment for our son. He's been to the ER several times since she's left, but the state still sides with her. I am lost as to what to do. I wasted $10k on lawyers and got no where. I guess the courts, law enforcement and lawyers Are all narcissist as well. I just wanted love and truth for our son.

My ex has many of these traits, the most of which is playing the victim to get their entitled wishes from others. When she left suddenly with our then eight year old daughter about six years ago, she made up a totally false story that she had to leave because I was having some type of affair, so to get pity from family and others. Turns out it was her who was having an affair with an ex boyfriend. She totally tried to play up the poor victim story in the courts while she severely alienated our daughter. Let's not forget that when narcissist are not getting their way, they decompensated into persecutory victim delusions,, i.e. they believe their own lies, further eliciting more pity from others, often also pulling in the children into their scheme to take care of their "victimized" parent. They are not capable of owning their behavior and its fallout. Beware of the love bombers and the victim story tellers. Thanks for your presentation.

When I first met the narc. According to her... Every other person she knew was badmouthed and slated to me by her. She was literally the victim of everybody around in some way. As time went on I slowly started to realise that it was herself that she was describing. Unfortunately I only started to realise after she became pregnant. I wasnt from her area so I had nobody to speak to plus all the people she had crapped on behind my back are all her friends. They are all now her flying monkeys. I also realised that she was bad mouthing/slating and lying about me just as much as everyone else from the beginning. It is so hard to think about all the things she has done. There are so many. It has been around 10 years of no contact. But she will re connect with me just to re- write history involving all her flying monkeys names as if they are her witnesses. When I explain the true occurences I get called a lier. When I show evidence Im suddenly pathetic, a narcissist and im trying to cause trouble and stuck in the past. She tells me the most disgusting stories about myself as if she is actually telling the truth. But tells me to delete my evidence because if her flying monkeys find out the truth it will ofcourse be my fault that they will all go after her. Never ending cycle.

No, there’s a genetic predisposition to the disorder, a genetic link, that is triggered in childhood by trauma or entitlements, or some combination of both. So it’s both nature and nurture.

It is continuous whining and complaining about the other person that goes on for years. The real victim here is actually the one who's being complained about. You should pray to God to help you forgive completely because that’s the best thing to do for yourself. The reason you cannot forgive is because you cannot find any justification to forgive…because that was deliberate abuse meant to destroy you and everything you love. I went through this similar experience and God helped me forgive through a supernatural experience that I cannot explain in this comment…but I’m writing to let you know that it is worth trying because life after forgiveness is so much better ❤ ⚠️ You forgiving them does not imply you receive them back into your life. They have to ask you if you forgive them in order to create the real justification for you to receive them into your life.
