Hey Nate, one thing: The dreamworld amulet has nothing to do with Sheogorath. It was created in one of Henentire's experiments, and there's no mention of it being "possessed" by Sheogorath. You could be thinking of the Staff of Everscamp, which is from another quest in oblivion and is said to be cursed by him, but there's no mention of Sheogorath in anything to do with Through a Nightmare Darkly.

I love sheogorath. In oblivion, after i learned how to clone items with scrolls, i spawned so much cheese on the ground before him it slowed the game to the framerate of the original 90s pokemon anime... 3-5 fps. Lol I also love the idea that sheogorath's avatar in skyrim is the hero of kvatch.

If Sheogorath claimed Pelagius' soul, presumably he could enter his mind and his memories whenever he pleased. Sheogorath refers to it as his "vacation", and he provides details about Pelagius that implies a more personal relationship between the two. It wasn't a recommendation quest. For recommendation you had to get back a staff of one of the mages that got stolen by a guy who had a crush on her. After getting the staff you could hear rumours that Kud-Ei needs help. You'd get the quest after talking to her.

For the Greybeards one, I think that if you have the ability to use the voice your life span is greatly increased I mean, think about it. Ulfric - His death isn't conformed yet Last Dragonborn - Is there need for explanation Miraak - Yes, his life was expandee ridiculously by Mora, but still he was slayed Wuulfarth - he was killed by A GOD Tiber Septim - He was fatally wounded at Sancre Tor according to Joffre. But others disagree, either way I find it doubtful that he died naturally Allesia - Supposedly died naturally, but it's never specified how old she was Pelinal Whitestrake - He was cut into eight/seven (can't remember which) Reamn Cyrodill - We know nothing about how he died. My thoughts on the Greybeards not being keen to recruit when we meet them are the last person they trained in the way of the voice (Ulfric) used it for political gains. Something the Grey Beards frown upon. Furthermore they're probably not worried about their ways being lost as their master Parthunnax is an unaging dragon who continue on their teaching should the Greybeards die. It's not impossible that understanding the voice somehow helps expand their lifespan but I can see reasons why these mortal men may not be super pressed to recruit when we meet them in Skyrim.

I still wonder what they DO approve of the voice being used for, since they never actually say, and apparently being Dragonborn you can use it for whatever you want and they don't care. Killing Parthuunax is the only thing that will get you kicked out. You can use your voice for the same purpose Ulfric did and they won't even mention any disapproval. If there's any mystery around the Greybeards, it's what their actual philosophy and ethics are about what one should or shouldn't use the voice for. I know Parthunnax wants to make sure mortals have a defense against Alduin and any dragons that follow them should they come back, but the Graybeards never once mention such. It would be weird for a bunch of supposed pacifists to teach people to use something clearly meant as a weapon, so they can't be that against it being used as such.

You forgot that the Greybeards chose apprentices to study the way of the voice and eventually become Greybeards themselves. Ulfric Stormcloak is one such apprentices, but he left in order to fight for the Empire against the Aldmeri Dominion, and though he longs to return, he cannot yet, as the Greybeards are too removed from the plights of the people. ... who knows, perhaps in a future Elder Scrolls game, when Skyrim is free and the Thalmor defeated, perhaps we'll hear about Ulfric returning to High Hrothgar?

Nate, I'm disappointed. You should have known that the Greybeards had been planning to bring Ulfric Stormcloak into the Greybeards, but he abandoned his training back when the great war started. Well, Ulfric Stormcloak was chosen to become a Greybeard. He studied with them for roughly ten years. And then he left, because of... reason. To be precise Ulfric said "I was to become a Greybeard myself. I spent almost ten years at High Hrothgar, learning the Way of the Voice. Then the Great War came... I couldn't stand missing it." So there you have your apprentice or at least a former apprentice. :D

maybe the Greybeards were given a long life by the 10(I always include Lorkhan) divines so that they could help the last dragonborn fulfill his/her destiny, if they were dead only Partysnax would help us, but then, it won't be a good introduction to the greybeards that the first guy you see is a Firebreathing beast that you've been killing for a while.

Nate, you got your Oblivion daedric quests mixed up. The one with the dream-world amulet was Vermina's I think. Sheogorath's quest was to terrorize a village of khajiit south of Bravil with a series of pranks, fulfilling something they called the "kishara prophecy".

I always just assumed the Greybeards were beyond usual lifespan old people, and they just never talked to Paarthurnax in person. I also kinda assumed Paarthurnax decided who gets to be a Greybeard. I also don't really think a purist faction like the Greybeards would extend their lives through external means like potions or magic. It's possible that being disciplines of tWotW inherently increases their lifespan somehow though.

We have no way of knowing, but in real world spoons with handles date about 5000 years before forks and before that we have no idea how long we used what eventually turned into the spoon. He was just proper badass and could manage.

IRL spoons and knives are thousands of years old, while the fork is only a few hundred. Don't know if this is the case in the Elder Scrolls universe, but it would be weird if the fork was created first there.

#5 Maybe there was a cut quest where you gave the mummified corpse of the Night Mother some blood, perhaps from the Emperor, which would reanimate her. She wasn't even a corpse but actually a hibernating vampire.

If I remember rightly the Maormer are only really involved in one quest in ESO Summerset. They're mostly involved in the ESO Base in the Aldmeri Dominion storyline, especially in the Auridon zone, the second largest island in the isles. They also play a massive part in Khenarthi's Roost (Like with Ulondil) and a part in the Greenshade zone in Valenwood

Bones of Falkreath: Its a reference to the movie Monty Python and the terrible man eating rabbit. There is a rabbit patrolling the area,I think one of the only rabbits that ever has a patrol route? Its also right outside the bleakfalls cave exit which may reference the cave that the rabbit guards in the movie. Nobody suspects the bunny, not even nate. Where is the Mind of Pelagius? Literally the mind of Pelagius. Its his sanity, his... essence? Maybe? Sheogorath literally tells us where we are though. As for how we're in his head: We have his hip bone, a connection to his body. That's all Sheogorath needs. It isn't our own mind either as if you walk into the area with nothing but the hip bone you'll get party clothes teleported onto you when you come back, without any party clothes being in the wing for the player to scavenge from the cobweb cluttered halls.
