I went from a S23 Ultra to my first Iphone in years...Iphone 14 Pro Max. The Iphone is a fantastic device, build quality and the feel of the phone is great. But that only lasted for 2 months, I sold the Iphone and got myself the new S24 Ultra and I am super happy.

Had like 8 different Samsungs and 2 iphones the 14 pro and 12 pro. I can say nothing changed and the iphones lag so much it's crazy. 1 year of owning the iphone 14 pro my battery life health is 83 and dies 3 times a day 😢. Samsung just seems to work way better

@user-xy8os4be1t Your experience with the lag on iPhone is what drove me away years ago after owning 3 iPhones plus my family and friends. I switched to Samsung on the S23 ultra now. You only live once. The phone is phenomenal! If it's within your budget, why not. 7 years of support and updates from Samsung also.
@sparky6757Ай бұрын
The funny thing is that, for all the fuss there's been about many years of software support on recent flagships, the fact is that it's roughly as cost-effective to trade in every 3 years as to run your phone into the ground. Prices fluctuate and this number almost certainly won't be 100% accurate, but based on the current S24 Ultra price and trade in values, if you trade in the 3-year-old S21 Ultra you'll spend $750 (before discounts). Do the equivalent deal every 3 years, that's $250 a year, just over $20 a month. Trade in an S8 for $100 off and buy for $1200, repeat the equivalent deal every 7 years? Comes out to $171 a year, a little over $14 a month. Sounds a good bit better, but bear in mind that you'll also likely need to replace the battery once or twice, and also if you want the full 7 years of support you'll need to buy at launch for whatever launch deals are on offer, which will definitely not be as good as the Black Friday deals - S23 Ultra started at $900 in November before trade-in, compared to S24 Ultra's best launch discounts being in the ballpark of $1200 before trade in.

Got the droid sound for my spen attach, loved Motorola back in the day, the price for admittance into the discounts for future purchases is definitely worth it along with the extras you get, not to mention the software support, I'd prefer around 1k but these devices do so much even if we can't utilize it. This phone is ridiculous and will get better, the battery alone to perform this way on this series is incredible. Next level phone again.

Samsung's recent promise of 7 years of software support for their flagship phones like the S24 Ultra is intriguing. It raises the question of how this will impact the refurbished phone market, traditionally known for rapid price depreciation. I recently purchased a refurbished Note 20 Ultra for $600 in 2022, compared to its original launch price of $1299. With security updates ending next year, I opted for a trade-in and managed to snag an S24 Ultra for $599 (pre-order discounts) or $717 after taxes. While the initial price tag might seem high, the potential for 7 years of support offers a different perspective. This raises an interesting question: could 7 years of updates slow down the depreciation rate of high-end Android phones like the S24 Ultra in the refurbished market, compared to their counterparts with shorter support cycles? It's still too early to say for sure, but it's a factor worth considering. In my case, the upgrade to the S24 Ultra was a no-brainer due to the improved battery, storage, and overall performance, even though my Note 20 Ultra was still a solid performer. However, if Samsung's trade-in offer hadn't been attractive, I might have stuck with my Note 20 Ultra for another year. Ultimately, the decision of whether to upgrade depends on individual needs and budget. However, Samsung's move towards longer software support is certainly an interesting development that could potentially reshape the refurbished phone market in the future. As my man Floss says, "You have to pay to play" with the big boys in the tech game. Overall if you're not a nerd and don't care about having the latest and greatest. A $700 phone would be more than perfect for everyone. I even tried out budget phones. If you're needs aren't demanding even a $400 phone would make most people happy.
@Waroftheworldsz3 ай бұрын
For me personally the only reason I bought this phone was to upgrade from my 6+ year old phone. I'm not one of those people who upgrades every year, or signs their soul away in a two year financing plan. It's just not necessary in my opinion. What sold me was the 7 year update promises, which is probably the only reason I got this phone because I plan to keep it for a minimum of 5-6 years. I also paid in cash and upfront so I wouldn't have debt and to be honest I've never had anything better than a $80 prepaid piece of garbage. I wanted and deserved something better for working my butt off. No regrets, honestly anything would've been an upgrade but why not get a flagship phone. The phone I'm typing this very comment on is slower than a tutel, freezes constantly and is awful in general.
@peterparker20683 ай бұрын
@@Waroftheworldsz I don't upgrade every year either. I am happy to hear that Samsung will support their higher end phones for seven years now. I don't finance my phones either and pay for them in full but with a credit card so I can get my 5% cash back and the extended warranty. If you can't afford to pay off the phone in full then people shouldn't be buying things they can't afford. But then again people who end up owning the credit card company money is good for my Visa stock. If you can afford it and worked hard. Don't cheat yourself and treat yourself. Cheers.

Well considering $700 gives you the OnePlus 12 I guess that statement that $700 is "good for everyone" is true since it has the same processor, more ram, more storage, faster charging (with the charger in the box), and a equally good display. The only downside is the camera (and still its not a massive downgrade) and the lack of the S pen
@peterparker20683 ай бұрын
@@AdamSmith-gs2dv I agree with your point about valuing what you have and considering if it's worth the price. I've been a Note user since the Note 3 too, and it's become an integral part of my workflow. So, I'll definitely continue using a Note or Note like device. I understand the debate about smartphone camera quality, especially the pixel-peeping discussions. While some might argue about OnePlus settings or Samsung's reliance on software, for casual users like us, point-and-shoot functionality is often enough. I've tried other phones, but overall, I'm satisfied with what Samsung's cameras offer.

I got a 512GB version for $650 through Google Fi, so the price ended up feeling pretty reasonable. I definitely couldn't have stomached paying $1300+ for it (which is why I haven't gotten a Z Fold yet, as those only come down to $1300-ish on sale). With the price being reasonable for me, it's a fantastic phone, no real complaints so far aside from the size and weight coming from my regular S21. But the screen, battery, stylus, and other things make up for it, and it doesn't feel like a big deal after a week or so of adjusting to it.

My old S21 Ultra still felt snappy and responsive, and I thought the only real draw to the S24 Ultra would be me finally getting a phone with a pen. I've always loved the Note series, but it was always a little out of reach price-wise. When my S24U came in, man o man, did I notice the difference. The screen, the performance- everything about it blew me away. The cherry on top being the free upgrade to 512GB (I've been asked many times why I need 512, and the answer I always give is 'I don't, but I might, and when I do, I'll be ready'"). No screen protector, my wife said that she is sure the glass on my phone is probably stronger than any screen protector I may put on. 😅. I love this phone, 1200 be dammed. 🎉

I'll own my vanity. I have to get a new phone every year because I love the feeling. I believe most people who watch these videos do the same.

I traded in my Flip5 for this beast. $600 towards the Ultra with $800 left for me to pay. Even that $800 was painful to spend! Don't think I would've bought it without the trade-in. 😵💫😵💫😵💫

@@Subin_Khan S21 Ultra is the last S Ultra from Samsung. Another beginning with S22 Ultra is a mixture of S and Note. I don't need the S-Pen and I love the design and feeling in the hand much more of S21 Ultra. Still in 2024 it' s amazing. Enjoy your S24 Ultra! Which color do you have? I send back Titanium Green...

Yeah, I get you, bro. I've got the Black Titanium S24 Ultra too. I think the Black Titanium version goes well with different cases. I've got a bunch of cases for my phone. 😀

Had the s21 ultra and in the store I thought oh just a new phone.... I was unknowing, unaware, 😢 and misinformed by my own passive judgement/assumption. I got this phone and have never... ever watched videos on how to use a phone EVER I have literally been so excited to have this phone I'm not sure how to contain it... I have had it a week almost and have watched a video about the phone almost every day... ❤I love this phone... the gratitude is real.

Indeed, I find more features in the s24 ultra than I do in the 15pm for a similar price.

I’m glad you followed up on my and most of the peoples comments on your last video about the financing/purchasing of this phone. I agree if you have the means the go for it, but if you don’t or are too young then no. Respect, Gary.

I bought my s24, am I regretted it almost immediately - price, weight, experience. But now I am happy because I got over the transition to a new phone. I am no longer the tech enthusiast I used to and aside from the display, battery, and processor speed, I miss daily driving my Note 9. Its because the s24 is noticeably heavier, I keep forgetting it doesn't have a headphone jack, I decided to keep the s24 because of the new hardware, 7 years of patches, and because I haven't bought myself something new and nice in a while.

After being an iphone user since the 5s (had the 5s for 5 years, the 6s bought from a family member after 5s finally broke, the 11, 13 mini) I switched to Fold 5. 13 mini is an excellent device, and if apple hadn't ditched mini and maybe made a pro mini, I may not have left. Also prob seems funny to go from mini to basically a tablet, but when closed the samsung folds are almost the exact same width as iphone mini. I cant see myself ever going back to a non-folding phone. The extra screen whenver i need it is just insanely useful! Apple bored me, and not gonna lie all slab phones bore me. The S24U cameras are better, but aside from that the Fold wins for me.

You get an upvote for saying the phones are too expensive. There are two options for phone companies. 1) Lower the price. 2) Raise the value. $1200 is the cost of a decent desktop computer. There is nothing in the flagship market today that substantially justifies the price. On a side note, I've noticed these phones are priced high in the beginning and then see aggressive discounts near the end of the year. Last year I saw insane Black Friday deals on the S23 - more than 80% off (yes, it was legit). I think the absurd pricing is meant to take advantage of people who obssesively crave the latest.

I did! Couldn’t be happier. I was sick of apple and trying to force me to use my phone their way. This is by far a superior device.

I'm an iPhone guy and I think the phone looks great. Like I said in a previous video, my family uses iPhones. I'm the guy that helps them out if something goes wrong. Plus, I got them on my family Apple One sub. Making the switch would be pretty difficult. Especially since my parents are getting up there in age and aren't tech savy anymore.

I switched from the S22 Ultra to the S24 Ultra. I feel it is much faster and smoother now. Moreover, the display looks good too. I prefer a curved display and thought the flat display on the S24 Ultra wouldn't look as good in comparison. However, the uniform display design doesn't disappoint. I think the S24 Ultra is a perfect phone. No one can complain about this phone.

I want to upgrade to this phone. I am currently 16 and have a job that pays well. Should I upgrade from my s21 ultra? This is its last year if software updates, and I plan on trading in so it would only cost 700ish dollars.

How can you tell a wealthy person? They didnt start out driving fancy cars or branded clothes or fancy overpriced phones. The people you see with fancy cars etc probably have loans and debts and will never be actually wealthy. Learn delayed gratification. Live below your means , dont take loans out for stuff (except a mortgage) and in a few years you'll be able to buy anything you want. Google F.I.R.E (financial independence retire early)
