1) the outfit Tyler is wearing closely resembles the outfit the main character wears in All My Sons, the play the band got its name from 2) Tyler has confirmed that this song is about a really bad panic attack he's had on college 3) every time he dodges, it represents an album. The half-dodge at the beginning is Self-Titled, then Vessel, Blurryface, and Trench dodge to the left, then SAI dodges to the right, then Clancy doesn't dodge and the car has to dodge him 4) oh yeah they've been repeating shots, like a fairly local shot in overcompensate and now the heavydirtysoul and car Radio shots here

Yep, that's one of the first things my 11 yo pointed out as we watched the debut. To further the analogy, Tyler is literally singing about getting out of the way, off the road, out of the headlights (spotlight) because the car (fears, insecurities, isms) is coming at him so fast. Each time defaulting in the same direction, then trying the other way as SAI was a 'diversion' or an attempt at something completely different (the sound primarily). I find a lot of Ride in this one ,too. Shielding your eyes from the spotlight. I see it as each attempt at healing, getting better at it every time 😉 An escapee. And now Clancy is going to face the problems head on! ❤|-/💛

I think it’s the same song actually. It’s because he’s playing the episode over and over again in his mind because that’s what people with anxiety do. You remember something bad and keep going back stressing over it again again.

A few songs reference headlights. One is Fake You Out - "in the night, headlights call my name." Then in this video, one of the flyers on the wall in the club has more lyrics from FyO, "Our brains are sick but that's ok!"

Also while this song isn't lore related, one theory is that Clancy/Tyler is being completely taken over by Blurryface while Clancy is infiltrating the bishops. The fact that the black paint has spread further than ever in this video could be a potential easter egg alluding to that

Tyler did confirm a music video for all the songs on the album and they'll all be released by May 17 - so by the date the album releases, we will know the entire story (most of the remaining will all be released that day)

The release date got pushed back a week..... It's now releasing on.... Oh, I wanna say the 24th?! They needed just a Little🤏more time to finish all the music vids for this album, and weren't gonna make it without extending the release date. But, only one week, so... Not too much more of a wait! 💜

See how he went left (his own way) few times, then he went ✨THE RIGHT✨ way one time and then he is back on his own way with Clancy mask and with more confidence. It is about his albums. The Scaled and Icy was "the right way" as it was more radio friendly and popy, but it wasn't how he wanted, it was about what the masses wanted 💁🏻‍♀️ And now he is back on the trackt with creating the things that he loves the most 🎉

The fact that rhis song is about an actual experience of Tyler's from back in college, when he had a panic attack and wound up in the road in front of an oncoming car hits real close to home for me. Back in high school, there were many times I found myself walking in the middle of the road, hoping to be taken out by someone not paying attention..

​@@luke-tx4zx from what seems to be the absolutely accurate account from Tyler (per people that were in the video,) is that it's about panic attacks in college. So many people have taken that comment, this video and some lyrics from past songs and insist that it means 100% that Tyler attempted to take his own life. Is it possible, of course. It just frustrates me that so many people are treating it like he straight up said that that's what happened.

Great reaction! The opening vibe I got from this song was the punk rock of the 70's like The Ramones. But, of course, TOP changes it up. The connection to HeavyDirtySoul seemed obvious to me, but you took that deeper -- thanks for that. Once again, Tyler uses the symbol of a car to represent his journey.

Sounds like punk rock also. As others said, this song is based on true events in Tyler's past. Also listen to the vocal track only (without music), you'll hear more clearly what is hidden in the backtrack. (or pull the lyrics). There's more lyrics behind. Also I've seen men sniffle when they hear this song. The certain part makes people very emotional, no matter the gender. Tyler's voice depicting the emotion, you can hear it means something to him. BTW, the crowd is gathered of true TØP fans. This song is basically going back to roots, to Tyler's college times and Blurryface. You got the main message right, nice reaction! Loved that you remembered Car radio (the similar scenery). Not everyone notices the details.

Great dive into this song. I love it so much for the underground punk feel it has. I really appreciate your take on the youth being full of heart and passion. As an parent with 4 kids from 19-29 yrs old I see the passion they have and I miss it so much. I think this is why I "get" TOP'S music(and other bands)to my core. I need that passion and fire for life and maybe we all do because it's the reminder that there are still things to look forward to. Also as a bonus if you screw up you can start fresh next semester. Sorry about being long winded, lol ^_^

Ok this song is so weird for me. A few months ago I had a mental breakdown that caused me to run in the middle of the road at 2 am, and every time I saw a car, I didn’t run at it, but I hoped it would hit me and I could be done, and the chorus of the song is literally what was going through my brain at that time. I ended up in the psych ward for a week after that, and am doing much better now, but this song just takes me back and not in a good way
