So why do Filipinas act the way they do? What makes us tick? Can you predict our behavior, and can you form a long term, loving, stable relationship with us? What are the core reasons that make a Filipina who she is?
I'll answer all these questions and more, as we delve into the inner recesses of the Mind Of A Filipina.

This should be required viewing for any western man visiting the Philippines. You are quite a perceptive young women and your analogies are spot on. An older better educated more financially secure western man bares more of the responsibility in making the relationship work. These advantages are one of the main reason's we visit or live in the Philippines so we shouldn't complain about the environment that actually gives us the advantage, namely poverty. Communication and knowing what you really want is the key to making a long term relationship possible especially when cultural differences can cause a lost in translations situations. I think FP could start teaching a Master Class on this.

Most all our challenges in our marriage have come from fear of something. I really did not realize that my wife growing up in such poverty and going from one crisis to the next left a long lasting impression. This took me a long time to understand. After many years I have learned when I hear certain tones in her words she is afraid of something. When I can calmly ask what is it that you are afraid of instead of reacting badly we can talk about the situation. Usually we are able to just talk it out. Sometimes I still react poorly but there has been much progress in trusting and understanding each other.

I never try to figure out my Filipina. Like women everywhere they’re more complicated than Chinese arithmetic. At least to us men. My first year of marriage to my Filipina was quite the adventure. Not only did she have all the insecurity and jealousy issues Pea mentioned she also was a stranger in a strang land as America, not surprisingly, is nothing like what most Filipino perceive. But understanding her insecurities and communicating about them is key to a strong relationship. #1. By word and by deed let them know you only have eyes for them. Be romantic, buy her flowers and little gifts. Be circumspect around other women. #2. Let her know that you will always take care of her. Be strong, make the decisions but gain credibility by always making decisions in the best interests of family. #3. Be a mentor. Teach her about the real world. How to succeed at work. How to do financial planning like budgeting and bill paying. #4. Be patient. #5. Don’t be naive. Hold them accountable. They won’t like it but will respect you for being strong. #6. This is most important. Tell her these three things every day. Yes dear, I love you and did I tell you today you’re beautiful.

It's amazing how I live on the other side of the globe (Costa Rica) and not only is the climate very similar, almost everything you say about the Philippines and people there does apply here, too. As for "avoiding conflict", I don't think it's necessarily a good thing. Conflicts don't disappear by "avoiding" them. In my opinion they have to be resolved by discussing them. Otherwise they continue to smolder and can destroy a relationship from within. Hey, congrats to another 10K subscribers! You must be doing something right 😉

You will never be more than a guest in her home. You may give her and her children your heart and soul but beneath the surface you will never be more than a glorified guest and outsider. At the sign of the slightest trouble, you will blamed and quickly disposed of. . . . . "IF" the act adds greater unity for the group. In situations like this, I have seen things come up and invariably, the bf or step father is belittled and treated without regard or common courtesy.

She would ask me to do something and I taught myself to be able to respond truthfully ...done that already honey, next? When she got sick, the feeling of me leaving her hit hard. But I did what I always did, just be there, day in, day out. For her part ...she made me feel as if I were the Emperor of Planet Earth. She inspired and council-ed me. Guys ...just be real with yourself first and that way you can be real with any woman, Filipina or not. Do not say what you will do ...just do it and then say you have done it, move to the next project. I think the Philippines and definitely the Filipino women should feel super grateful for hving someone like u doing what u do, even if it hurts to hear. Your heart is with the Philippines they shld notice that first. Your honestly are like a parent, guide, leader to them in my opinion, deep down if not all already they will in time. U are great to and for expats and Filipinos. Btw u also report things that are not so great about us foreigners but they are truths. Keep up the good work. I hv plans to visit the Philippines after this pandemic, and was also considering moving to some asian country from the us, and you are helping me so much. I chat many Filipino women from 20 to 35 yrs old and I am learning alot just from chatting and your channel, I am also armed and better equipped to be good to them but also to protect myself. Again keep up the good work💪

Guys, Jealousy is a learned trait. It is an insecurity bred of lack of trust. When I first met my wife, an instance arose that she needed to call home and had lobatt. I handed her my phone and told her the pin to log in so she could use it whenever she wanted. Another time, we were shopping and I handed her my wallet as she new the currency and exchange better than I did. Little did I know, these were things Filipino men did not do. My later to be Asawa quickly found that I had no secrets and no subject was off limits. Therefore, her previous sense of jealousy melted and in the 11 years since, has never been a problem. One last quick statement- Filipinas become distrustful of their men, coupled with many men going OFW to support families, it is hard for them to find a good responsible man. Be that man, show respect and appreciation for her culture and people. Your bank account is less important than the emotional security they need.

HOLY MOSES Pea, that's a lot of information, most men don't think that deeply about the woman they are in love with, getting below the surface or into the mindset of the woman we western men are with is not our strongest suit, we tend to be too much more like the "Shallow Hal" of movie fame. I'm not sure I've enough years left to get to know a good Filipina woman that deeply. Not to mention that at my age, given all the health issues that accompany advancing years I could make the promise not to leave as after a certain point in time one realizes his own mortality and comes to grip with the simple fact he's literally just a heart beat away from the grave. Loads to think about and consider, have this video set in it's own file now in my favorites to view again. As always you did a fantastic job expressing the subject of the video, thanks.

Pea, good video! Very interesting. We need to keep in mind that Filipino people are very , very diverse. In my opinion. the Philippines is not a melting pot of cultures, but more like a cultural buffet. You have Indonesian, Spanish, Chinese, American, Arab influences. These communities are spread across an archipelago of 7000 plus islands. Then there are urban/rural, education, Christian/Muslim uniquenesses, etc. So when we attempt to discuss "the" mind of "the" Filipina, we are going to stir up a lot of controversy. A lot of Filipinas won't match our generalizations Case in point, I have been to the Philippines a few times and dated Filipinas from Luzon, Cebu and Mindinao. . Each of them was very beautiful and very, very different, not just in terms of physical appearances, but also in terms of personalities and values. I now have a Filipina fiancee and am very grateful for her. She is a special woman. ❤

Enjoy, very very insightful, can you please describe the differences between those from the three Islands you mentioned?
@enjay9521
@enjay9521 3 жыл бұрын
@@jd1811 I could write a book about this topic. Maybe one day I will.... suffice it to say that the Philippines is an island nation with a very complex history and this is reflected in Filipino people today. Even within one island, you will find a lot of ethnic and cultural diversity. My fiancee is from a very rural area in Mindinao. She grew up in a community with a relatively strong Spanish influence. You can see evidence of this in the people's faces, in their customs, etc. Not far from where she lives are Filipinos with more indigenous cultural influences. Then, Mindinao has Muslim regions, and they have their own complexities. My fiancee's village life in Mindanao is very different from life in other places, say, Manila. The complexities are grand. I love the Philippines. God bless the Philippines and all Filipinos.

I agreed on everything you said EnJay. Philippine Island fall into three geographical divisions. Luzon, Mindanao and the Visayas. Each Filipina women are different. Physical appearances, personalities and values. Just depends on what Islands they come from. The island of Luzon has many claims to fame. Many Filipina won’t match someone generalization thats for sure.

Fun to figure out?? Sometimes very expensive to figure out. Several years ago my Mexicana GF wanted an 8,000 USD liposuction procedure and a 20,000 USD trip to Spain and Italy. She said she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me. After the liposuction procedure and the expensive trip she ended our relationship. When I asked her about wanting to spend the rest of her life with me she angrily responded: “what are you complaining about, you had great sex with a beautiful woman for 3 weeks in Europe. 😕

I (American) have been with my Filipina wife for 4 years now being married for 2 of them. I live in the Philippines. I can tell you first hand that everything she is saying is 100% on point. I have been blessed with a great wife and a great family that comes with it. Something you have to understand is when you marry a Filipina you marry the family too lol. Also holy cow do they love chismosa. Even my lola still does lol!!! Once your woman trusts you here all the horror stories you hear about jealousy are a thing of the past. For example my wife will joke around trying to find pretty girls to be my mistress!!! Granted she knows full well I would never want that, but my point is trust is vital. Through that you will have the most loyal, loving, and amazing wife you can ever hope for!! Did I also mention they are beautiful and down to earth. Try finding that in western women!!

Was already in love with her lol. And the rest is still a love story in the works. I live for her smile and look forward to retire in 2 years.
