I suspect EU leaders think this will be the push they need to get the EU controlled military set up and funded along with federal tax raising. In short, the fully federal EU superstate they have wanted since the 1920s. However, Europe will be totally screwed because its leaders simply don't (or refuse to) understand what's going on. Whatever happens now, Europe as we know it is dead.

"Sergei Magnitsky was.....found dead in his Moscow jail cell." Viewers may not understand how common this is: basically anyone who is perceived to represent a threat to the state, stands a very high chance of "winding up dead in their jail cell." This started way back in the soviet era when kgb would just put a 9x18Mak in the back of your skull, as a formality. Now it's whatever, shanked in the neck like Cleaver [тесак], drugged like navalny, strangled, etc. As one Jewish dissident put it, 'executionist culture'

Well, I think they have trouble with logics sometimes : "I live in a fake democracy in the west and I hate that... let's support Putin!" or... "I hate American imperialism... let's support Russian imperialism, it can't be worse!" Well... I think a "fake democracy", as they say, is better than a real dictatorship. And about imperialism... well I don't think the civilians getting shelled enjoy Russian bombs better than the Vietnamese did in the 60s-70s. My point is: you don't like imperialism? Don't support Vlad! Or maybe you're just feeling antiamericanism... But guess what: Your enemy's enemies aren't necessarily your friends

President Putin has every right to increase his Russian presence in Ukraine since it was The Russian State of Georgia ! Most people in Ukraine either speak Russian or are having a familiarity with it since main business centers conduct much business in Russian language as would be expected in a State formerly called Georgia & part of the U.S.S.R. ! Russian Ruble will replace USD as the world reserve unless my President Donald John Trump is replaced into Front Center Stage as the Legitimate President of The United States ! 2020 Election was crooked , everyone knows that. Creepy Joe did NOT get more votes than Barack ! President Trump MUST take stage NOW & Issue Immediately a Gold Backed U.S. Treasury note directly to the citizens now holding useless Reserve Notes which have a Negative Worth when one acknowledges they are not backed by gold & have been constantly losing value. Saudi's abandoned the USD & now will do much to increase Ruble Value since it is based on the Real Value of GOLD ! Does not Everyone Know how much the Middle Eastern People Love & respect Gold ? Where's The PetroDollar Now ; Without The Arab Nations Support ? ?

"Putin's Way" aired on PBS in 2015, after the invasion of Crimea but before Election 2016. Bill Browder published a memoir and op-eds in 2015 about Putin too. Some people who were raising an alarm about Putin back then were scoffed at and accused of being hysterical. They were a lot like Winston Churchill was for most of the 1930s when he was in the political wilderness in warning about Hitler to the few people who would listen. But now in spring 2022 everybody who denounced Putin is vindicated just as in autumn 1939 everybody who denounced Hitler was vindicated.

"But now in spring 2022 everybody who denounced Putin is vindicated just as in autumn 1939 everybody who denounced Hitler was vindicated." Yeah, and it only cost 50 million dead to stop Hitler because nobody listened to Churchill. The example of Churchill's warnings about Hitler should make people sit up and DO SOMETHING now about Putin. Look, if Putin is crazy enough to use nuclear weapons, he's crazy enough to use nuclear weapons, so you might as well just give Ukraine nuclear weapons so they can lay down an ultimatum to this b@stard: leave Ukraine completely within 48 hours, or the Kremlin gets incinerated. That's the language he'll understand, and nothing else.

Humanity don’t understand this argument that an innocent kid would like to understand because is wise, otherwise something would have been done about the squandering of fortunes and the war. What can be done with the gold in reserves like in the Fort Knox in America? Only to sell it. How much cost taxpayers to protect the gold? Fortunes. To sell the gold today spares to pay for the protection tomorrow. The gold market is going to crash and i defend my word against any economist past or present. Russia could go bankrupt and end the war in Ukraine. I think we live in an horrible world, and I was said it is the only one we have. I have to keep trying. Even before the fall of Communism, the Soviet Union was an oligarchy. The politburo was was a relatively small group of communist party members who had nearly absolute control of the the county. The Soviet Union, after Stalin's death, was not a dictatorship. No one person had absolute control, and the guy at the top was liable to being toppled if his colleagues lost faith in him. IIRC Magnitsky was not a lawyer but an accountant. He was the brains behind Browder's network of companies and schemes to enrich himself as the USSR disposed of state assets. Browder was questioned about this discrepancy under oath in a US court case and was very evasive in response. I agree with Scott Ritter. in my opinion everything he says from Ukrainian Nazi Soldiers were the ones committing the autrocities in Bucha rather than Russia. the truth will eventually come out and one side is lying the othe telling the truth. From my own research I find Scott Ritter the most compelling not to mention others who tell the same story. I quit watching MSM as most what they report is put out by the government talking points and nothing on their news get told to the public that opposes their narrative. when the truth comes out MSM will brush over it like they lied about weapons of mass destruction when Ritter outed them yet he was silenced like he is being silenced and smeared by you and MSM.

Funny thing about Scott Ritter, he was totally in the right in the period leading up to the Iraq War, screaming to anyone who would listen that there were no WMD's and he knew because he was on the investigative teams in Iraq. Then the Bush admin found a way to squelch him, which sound like he got framed for some trumped-up crime. I'll look into how he's gone sideways with the "Russian apologism."

Great interview, he confirms much of what anyone who has truly dealt with a powerful and power-mad narcissistic sociopath already knows. The frustration over so many who insist on dismissing that reality - so often due to deeply embedded naive arrogance - is compounded by this horror that putin's been enabled to inflict on the world by so many of them. The common error Browder makes here, however, is patronizing the Russian people to a fault. They are not as helpless as he and so many others want to project, that is a blatant false-morality stance. They have propaganda to the degree they do because that's exactly how they like it. They do have other info sources, which they vehemently deny. The extreme measures such a high percentage of Russians go to deny hearing anything remotely truthful or anything that may require them to care in the least actually makes it obvious that they do know what truly goes on, and they purposely avoid it. Like the kid sticking his fingers in his ears and hollering "la-la-la-la I can't hear you!!" when he's misbehaving. They betray their own children, parents, family, friends, and associates with such absolute cold-hearted cruelty, it's no wonder they don't care one bit about any other victims who are brutalized in their name. It's apathy off the charts. No, it's long past time to treat regular Russians like the grownups they are, that's how democracy works and that's the only way it works. They are enabling Putin's bloodlust land grabs in large part because they like it, they want to be all powerful and lords over other countries, too. They believe it's their own manifest destiny. As mentioned elsewhere, it's not putin pulling the trigger at the kid on the street or raping, etc., it's the regular Russian doing that. It's the regular Russian telling her boyfriend or husband what to steal for her from the . It's the regular Russian torturing, beating, shooting, kidnapping, bombing, raping, looting, drunked-up, etc. The Belarusians have been under a brutal dictator for even longer than Russians, with even stricter propaganda, and they said "No, we will not slaughter Ukrainians. We will try to help them." And there is the difference.

Happy to say that I and majority of Canadians have through the years collectively chosen to put liberal democratic people at the helm, not distorted view dictators. Unfortunately over past 100 + years with only a few exceptions Russia has fallen under the thumb of violent dictators. I applaud the Russians who put their well being at risk to have their voices heard. They are heroes. They are also a minority. Read the recent German communication intercepts of Russian soldiers as they speak and joke about the grief they play upon Ukrainians. No remorse there. The pictures I see, the stories I hear coming out of Ukraine have me believing the Russian people are also the enablers. I can only continue to hate and despise Russians and I will do what I can to send money and support to Ukraine and hope they can route out the Russian monsters. This means that the playing field isn't for everyone but only for some and right now we have one nation in the world that gets to write the rules of who can play on that field

@@thomasblanchard6778 Occupation of more of Eastern Europe is not in the plan. The stopping of Nato is. Look at the map what has been done moving Nato closer to Russia. The West needs to trade with Russia and keep its hands off their resources. They want it for free by training the Ukranian army over years to do their fighting. The days of bringing gunboats closer and making the natives comply, while the West strips their resources are gone, they did this in the 90s. Russia is a nuclear power and needs to be respected. Their nuclear submarines patrolling the Atlantic could turn cities like NY, London and Germany to glass. The Western powers could lead us all into a nuclear war. Mr Browder needs to learn from history.

Pootler's been writing about it for decades, the expansion back to Soviet era power for Russia. This isn't NATO or any other stupid excuse he is using. People are buying that because they are totally ignorant, including the media. He many have been happy with 'just' replacing the govt with another puppet, had he been able to accomplish that, but nothing short of that. The Ukrainians have 'been there, done that', a puppet govt recently, and Soviet dominance for 79 years ending 1991. They obviously, to the nth degree, have ZERO interest in going back to that situation. Stalin killed tens of millions of people. Many of those were Ukrainians. That would happen again, too, if Pootler wins. It is obvious he doesn't give a rat's ass about anyone but himself. US/NATO could probably shut him down with a SERIOUS show of local buildup and the sincere threat of intervention at that point. That has worked three times in the past. Apparently, we (the US govt) don't have the balls for it, at least not yet. In case you are worried about relative strength, US/NATO to Russian defense spending is 15:1. About the same ratio as Russia over Ukraine, which puts us at 225:1 over Ukraine.

Talking of Bill Browder, Putin the Barbarian and espionage there’s almost too much on the menu for those of us hooked on absorbing and addictive espionage novels to find time for reading in a safe house far away from the tsunami of grim news we face in real life now. For starters there are fictional thrillers like Charles Cumming’s Box 88, John Le Carré’s Silverview or Len Deighton’s noir anti-Bond masterpiece Funeral in Berlin. As for the main course, there are down to earth, raw and noir, often curious fact based Cold War thrillers you’ll never put down such as Bill Browder’s Red Notice, Bill Fairclough's Beyond Enkription in The Burlington Files series or Ben Macintyre’s The Spy and the Traitor. As for dessert, maybe something laced with the distinctly sardonic and singular humour of Slow Horses from the Slough House 'stables' by Mick Herron. We are spoilt for choice.

At 3:38 the interviewer asks "Lets talk about the effectiveness of sanctions" FACT: Sanctions DO NOT WORK The US has maintained economic sanctions against Cuba for more than 50 years in an attempt to overthrow the Cuban government. It has not worked but it has caused great hardship and misery to the Cuban people. The US maintained an economic BLOCKADE against Iraq from 1991 until 2003 in an attempt to overthrow the Iraqi government. The blockade did not achieve its intended effect of overthrowing the Iraqi government. The brutal effects of this blockade are well documented but routinely ignored in the Western media. The US has imposed sanctions on many other countries: Venezuela, Vietnam (after 1975), Yemen, Iran, Nicaragua (after 1979) etc. The sanctions have NEVER worked. So why does the US keep using sanctions? Sanctions are a tool to terrorize vulnerable populations without having to resort to bombs. Sanctions are the way the United States gets the message through: Do what we say or we will destroy you.
@OFDProductions
@OFDProductions 2 жыл бұрын
Doing nothing doesn’t work either though. What other alternatives to sanctions are there to opposing a country’s actions besides going to war? Peace negotiations don’t seem to be working. Should the US just continue business as usual with Russia and help fund the war machine? I’m not saying I disagree with your point about sanctions affecting citizens the most, but honestly what other options are there? Also the US is not the only country sanctioning Russia or other countries for that matter, not sure why you’re singling them out

@@OFDProductions In January 2010 Viktor Yanukovych was elected President of Ukraine. In June 2010 Yanukovych presented a bill to the Ukrainian parliament which rejected any ambition from Ukraine to join NATO. The bill was passed into law by the Ukrainian parliament. This proves that in 2010 there was a MAJORITY of Ukrainians that rejected the idea of having Ukraine join NATO and instead wanted their country to be militarily NON-ALIGNED. So we go from that reality to the present Ukraine: A country run by NATO supporting zealots, that are willing to have their country destroyed by a Russian invasion in the hopes of someday Ukraine becoming a NATO member. The Yanukovych government was overthrown by a violent mob of Nazis in 2014. The first thing the new Nazi inspired government did was reject Ukraine's NON-ALIGNED posture and actively lobbied for NATO membership. The overthrow of Yanukovych was supported by the United States. The US provided $5 billion dollars to the forces that toppled Yanukovych. If Ukraine had remained a NON-ALIGNED country, no Russian invasion would have ever taken place.

@@joeblow3990 90% of comments here are so delusional and made by keyboard intellectuals who mostly read headlines or articles never doubting the author or the platform. Most of them can't even fathom that US hasn't been a democracy for a long time and the country is mostly run by think tanks and old money. And most here overstep the simple fact that all Ukraine had to DO and BE is a neutral country according the Bucharest deal and give full rights to Russian speaking minority. This conflict is being pushed by US elites at the expense of Ukraine and for the sole purpose to wreck Russia and get to its resources in Siberia and also to dominate China by cutting her of any access to Russian resources in the coming war over Taiwan.

America is like that only when republicans control the policies and administration of the government. Biden is trying to reverse the damage caused by the Trump years over neglect in things like Covid, mistreatment of minorities, and the environment in the US and abroad. But the US can only have so much impact overseas. It's up to countries, themselves, to have fair democracies and free enterprise systems to interact with the world in fair trade and commerce, plus working to improve the global environment and reduce climate change.
