Back in 1970 when I was living next door to Al and his parents, my mom, dad and I used to catch a 30 gallon trashcan full of Blowfish from the docks at Robert Moses State Park and some of them were over a pound. They were great fun and good eating, though they did tend to wear out rubber gloves and filet knives. I'm glad to see you still at it Al, John is still in the house in Lindenhurst. Wishing you and your family the best from North Carolina !

Back in the 60's when I was a kid we would catch DOZENS of Blowfish (big ones) in a hour or 2.. Today you get these poor results.. overfishing and water pollution has inshore fishing almost gone.

They are a circular fish. I remember them as a kid then nothing. Some people never saw them before a d think they are poisonous that's the Asian fish. The last 2 years they have been strong. Also they love baby crabs. So don't blame environment on decline of crab it's the blowfish. They will disappear and stay out to sea for a few years then come back hard.

Northern puffers (blowfish) are quite tasty, smooth puffer fish on the other hand can be dangerous to consume if not cleaned properly. Try this www.thefisherman.com/article/ri-dem-warns-know-your-puffers

Well this is pointless because I have tried this method for over 5 hours and I only caught 6 dogfish, almost caught a fluke, and a horseshoe crab and thanks to overfishing all the KZbinrs are all itS So EaSy caTcHinG blOwfIsh And they always use this method but I can’t find any reason why I’m not catching them, I tried everything but now I just realize fishing is a waste of time
