Having kids doesn't mean you don't go fishing. It means YOU won't be doing as much fishing, you'll be spending more time baiting hooks, fixing tangles, getting snags loose, etc. It was frustrating at the time, but as my kids reach adulthood I really miss those times.

I want to recommend getting a gripper for your scale . It’s not a good practice to pierce the jaw of the ones you catch. While it seems like nothing it can seriously affect the fish after release.
@TheFishinMagician203 ай бұрын
I had grips a long time ago but the best way is to put them in a bag and weigh if you want no damage. On the Potomac river we had a lot bigger fish and you can actually break their jaws if they were too heavy. Here the fish are all in the smaller end so we don’t really have that issue. These guys were hanging by the sand paper mouth. Never pierced one

I kind of envy fishermen that can sit or stand in one place and wait for fish to take their bait. I just don't have it in me. I don't have that kind of patience. I have to be on the move. If the fish don't bite within ten or fifteen minutes or a dozen casts of my lures, I move to another spot. I have to go in search of the fish rather than waiting for a fish to swim by and maybe take my bait.

When you’re trying to catch shad, throwing a casting net at them, you have to close the net the second it hits the water…because in my experience the longer you let it drop towards the bottom, the less fish you’re likely to catch, not sure why, they might be able to swim out of it as it drops…or at least that’s my opinion!
