Just out of curiosity, what do you think about hobby fishermen trying to thin out invasive species by specifically targeting them and releasing everything else? I'm a mainly fresh water fisherman and I've been doing that together with some of my friends for the past couple of years, it's perfectly legal in my area but some people say we actually do more harm by not letting the ecosystem adjust naturally to a new balance. What's your take on this?
@thomascovenant6652 жыл бұрын

Still amazed by the care and respect you show to your catches. No hemming and hawing about size, no hesitation to preserve the species at the expense of taking something home for the pot. You're the definition of the ethical fisherman.

Superb specimen lobster, John! Thank you for sharing. I'm in two minds regarding his fate. Whilst it would have been excellent for him to have gone to Padstow, to be put to stud, I also think it would have been a little sad removing him from the wild. I'm just glad it wasn't a decision I had to make. Move down to Cornwall was interesting, John. The A30, at night, in a fully laden Luton van, during the high winds and heavy, HEAVY rain of storm Claudia, sure made for an interesting 260-mile drive. Closest I have ever come to pulling over for fear of death! Here now though and living the Cornish dream!!!

I did my catch up Fish Locker session this afternoon, very entertaining it was too and I still have the latest vid to go. Without getting too plastic about it I really appreciate your uploads, many thanks. Reminds me of being a kid, kicking around the rock pools down here in Thanet. Also watching the fishing boats coming into the harbour and gawping at the catch from the pier. Both entertaining and educational, keep it up please.
