I started wearing the G7 in 2023 (Never had the G6 or prior versions). I have always worn it on the back of my arm. I wear it a little lower and more inside than you do in the very fatty area. I have never had a problem with it. I even sleep on my arm, too! Oh wait I had a problem with one a couple weeks ago that just never paired so they sent me a replacement. But I have never had a problem with it falling off or compression readings nothing like that. I love it. I wish I could wear it on my stomach but I have 2 chihuahua's that think my stomach is a trampoline, so... 😂

@kathypeterman28862 ай бұрын
@@klassicmeg I had watched Type One Talks on various sites he has used and decided to try the chest. NOTE: Libre is a bit smaller than Dexacom and they do not support any site other than back of the arm. I place it at 12 o'clock sort of where the shoulder strap of a bra meets the cup (where it is still protected under the bra). I tried to make a bra photo and put a mark on it, but see we can't upload photos on KZbin comments. Hope that helps.

Yes, wearing Libre 2, second sensor on chest (female) and, coincidentally, about the same measurement from collar bone. It's comfortable, sits under bra strap, or just lower, not likely to be knocked off, no compression lows either. Apart from the 'wear on back of arm' license, I haven't found an issue yet. Also, don't supprt it with other adhesives as I'm allergice to them all, but I've, so far, not seen any of the sensor starting to peel off, or become loose etc. I'd recommend it ;)

I just switch sides each time. I do like to use my upper arm or any part of my arm for either the Dexcom or the omnipod. I have used it for the dexcom once and it fell off in the same day, since I sweat so much. The Omnipod is usually on my thigh. I just switch legs after each one. A few times used my stomach. My blood sugar readings have been quite steady while the sensor is on my thigh. I would check with livongo meter once a day at least. With the G6, I have had a few compression lows during the night, but did not too many times. Hopefully with the G7, this will not happen.

I am too scared to try that... Where exactly do you place it on the calf? Isn't there too much muscle?
@AlbrarianАй бұрын
@@flua1508 I place it maybe 2-3 inches below the back of the knee and a little bit off center to the inside of my leg. I figure if skinny little kids can wear Dexcom on their arms and legs, my fat layer should be sufficient. 😁

I've also been using G7 since early 2023 without any issues... until a few weeks ago. From one sensor to the next, my skin does not tolerate the glue anymore - I get pain, rashes, red to violet skin for weeks after just a few days of wearing the sensor. I had to revert to alternative sites and still have barely enough good skin remaining for my Omnipods. Dexcom seems to have done some minor changes to the glue - I have zero issues with other companies' patches. It's unnerving to be so dependent on a product that can be changed any time...

oh no, that's unfortunate. Skin Grip has some patches that you can put under the sensor so that the sensor glue doesn't touch your skin. Might be worth looking at: skingrip.com?aff=208

I'm just curious if you have noticed anything different recently. My last refill of the sensors I have noticed a different glue and/or more of it on the sensor. I have also noticed the overlay is also way stickier. It's also not as rigid....found the earlier version easier to put on. It's now flimsier, but stays on much better. I will second your opinion on the Skin Grip. I have used them with my G6 and have them for the G7. Especially liked using them when I was planning on going swimming.

I put my G7 2 inches below my collarbone and 2 inches from my shoulder joint. I get spot-on glucose numbers always.

I wear my Dexcom G7 on my chest. I have had no issues and I never bump it. My daughter knows about owie spots so I show her, she kisses it to make it better and she never messes with it again unless she wants to kiss it better again.

Hi, 1) When you wear the G7 on your thigh do you find it's more accurate than on the stomach? (I've been exclusively using my stomach for CGM's since first starting them, even the Medtronic CGM's). I have found that the G7 is definitely less accurate than the G6, especially in the first day. I almost never had inaccuracy with the G6 but it seems every 3rd or 4th G7 is very unstable and I don't mess around. If they are not reasonable accurate withing 3 or 4 hours at the most, they get ripped out and replaced, then I call Dexcom and get a replacement. 2) Being a man my legs are generally more muscular than yours, do you think that could cause an issue wearing it there? (I'm willing to experiment, I have nothing to lose). I've never been able to wear sensors on my legs because of the large thigh muscle and more bleeding risk. No rush but I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Great Info! I am a side sleeper and It is hard to sleep on left side 10 day then change to right side for 10 days to stop compression lows. The next sensor I am going to try is the spot you are using on the inner thigh. That looks like a great spot. Side note I seemed to get better reading in my right arm as opposed to the left arm. This seemed to be consistent since I went to G7 sensor on the arm. Thanks again for all you do for us diabetics.

The same is happening to me. R arm readings are fine, L arm readings are worthless. I have had to remove several failed sensors from my L arm.

@@karlahernandez5750 @fredirle7173 Me too. I eventually stopped wearing it on my arms altogether but do you have any thoughts on why this might be happening?
@CynthiaHahnАй бұрын
I have the opposite - I can get good readings on my left arm, but the right arm gets poor readings or just fails early. I'm going to try thigh because I am also a klutz who whacks the CGM on everything. Also, anyone else catch it on your seatbelt in the car?

I wear my G7 sometimes above my left breast not high but not too low kind of even with the shoulder a little bit lower than the shoulder My bra strap doesn't hit it it's not in the way and it's so accurate and no matter how I toss and turn or drive it does not interfere with it sometimes I put it on the right side it all depends how I feel but I'm like you my favorite spot is my thigh

I tried applying my Freestyle Libre 2 to my inner arm(s), between the biceps and triceps, in the hopes that it would be more secure for the 14 days, and also that the tape cover might last longer. Well, it did help in those regards, but it turned out that I had lost signal alarms way too often, and mostly when I was trying to sleep! After watching your video, I'm considering the belly (maybe the center line, as I have a split abdomen and there's at least a 2" gap between the length of the abs, and may be better protected in my sleeping position, which is often flat on the front to side of my belly, not the center). Also thinking of the front inside of the thigh(s), which might be both secure enough as exposed enough to avoid the lost signal alarms. Thanks...

If you wear on your chest place the tip of the thumb in the v part of the collar bone insert where the pinky hits at also just need to flex the chest muscles to be sure you don’t hit the muscle cause let me tell ya you will know it if you can’t grow a pair and take the pain of it for the 10 days you’ll have to remove it my first time inserting I hit the muscle couldn’t last 2 hrs

The lower back and thigh are good sites as these are rarely used for injection /infusion. These are less likely to have subdermal scarring or hard fat deposits. . When I did MDI, I used the FDA G7 site for 6 injections/day whenever I was wearing short sleeves.
