"I get people to remember who they are" ❤ THIS is so powerful. You've given language to something I do with people that I work with. We use psychological metrics to assess their level of authenticity so they can see areas that they may have suppressed in those early years. This allows them to access the areas that they aren't utilizing yet, that go untapped, that could actually give them an advantage in their personal brand. I absolutely love these series you're doing around personal branding. Thank you for sharing these insights.

I absolutely loved this episode. Personal branding is getting people to remember who they are. This touched me. When I create brand strategies with people, I ask some deep questions to try to get to the root of who they are and why they do what they do. You summed it up perfectly with that statement. "Not invention, but memory." Thanks for sharing, Chris!🙏

I also listened to Ed Mylett’s podcast from about 4 weeks ago. Both of you are spot on. And it’s opened my eyes that even a stay at home mom needs to brand herself. Because, if she re-enters the workforce, wants to eventually place her child in private school or even colleges now tend to Vet the families. So it’s so important! Thanks Chris ❤

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 Personal *branding is about discovering one's authentic self, healing, and showing up genuinely, rather than focusing on selling products or services.* 01:38 Effective *personal branding involves understanding human behavior, emphasizing connection and meaning over traditional selling tactics.* 03:15 The *evolution of branding traces back to the Industrial Revolution, where specialization led to the need for companies to distinguish themselves through identity and marketing.* 04:12 In *the modern era, branding is about differentiation, preference, and creating an emotional connection with consumers who seek meaning rather than just survival.* 05:52 Every *product has a story, and a compelling narrative enhances brand preference, emphasizing the importance of an authentic and integral personal story in personal branding.* 08:22 Personal *branding is not about invention but remembering one's true self, urging individuals to break free from the personas they create and reconnect with their authentic identity.* Made with HARPA AI

Sadly graphic design has become / is a joke. The market is oversaturated and designers are undervalued. That is why there are 2,000 people applying for 1 position on Linkedin. With AI entering the picture it just makes things even worse. Most Creative Directors are clueless, indifferent and don't even know what they want. But the main problem is that graphic design is too subjective. When you factor in all of the different industries, visual styles, trends, specializations and niches there are just way too many potential variables within the industry itself. You can have 20 award winning brand campaigns and not get hired b/c the CD doesn't like the color pink or the font you used. It's a joke. Anyway, unlike law, medicine, or law enforcement, design and advertising doesn't really matter and designers don't really change the world. It truly is visual pollution and noise people try to ignore but in reality don't even really notice in the first place.
