@@BugattiONE666 The Black Series still has that lunacy. Less insulation, stiffer suspension, insane amounts of aero and mechanical grip. Even removes the rear wheel steering to give more raw feeling. Yes the flatplane doesn’t sound as good as the crossplane but it’s decent inside the cabin and anyone who thinks this isn’t extreme clearly never been in one. The difference between GTR and GT Black is like the difference between GT3RS and GT2RS MR.

Stop holding AMG to that standard, its not fair for them especially when you compare with the likes of Porsche and BMW. Times have changed and AMG’s deserve to be nimble and agile while maintaining the brute force which they already do. I don’t understand the hypocrisy when the AMG GTR retains all the lunacy while being agile. The recipe for a Black Series is turning them into the most extreme version it could be, hence why they all get stiffer, more aero, etc. Do you know about AMG’s?? Even cars like SLS Black or C63 Black were agile.

I think the 577 hp is because the racing GT series (which this car derives from) have this power limit set by the rules. Not that they can't fit in a 600+ hp engine. Every engine paired with transmission is different. 500 hp in one car isn't exactly the same as 500 hp in a total different type of car. And besides, power isn't everything. The car should be perfectly balanced the way it is.

3000gt had it first. In 1991-93. Front air dam, four wheel drive, four wheel steering, electronic controlled suspension, speed controlled rear wing. Jeremy being the dinosaur he is, was there and reviewed it.

It's a muscle car, but with German sensibilities. So it's garish and gaudy, but just restrained enough to still be utterly beautiful. It's loud and makes very appealing noises, but still just quiet enough not to get you fined for excessive noise. It'll drive around an entire track sideways until the tires burst, or you can leave the traction control on and it'll handle like a proper sports car. It's a car of dueling identities that manages to still feel like you're driving something insane because you're sat practically on top of the rear differential. Apparently the GT-C also got rear wheel steering that makes it handle even better. Unfortunately all of these got discontinued and replaced with a sedan and the world is worse off for it. I am waiting to see if Mercedes and AMG decide to make an EV remake of this thing like the one they had on Top Gear of the old SLS.

AMG GT Black series has only the 2nd fastest time on Nurnburgring production cars. Porsche 911 GT Manthey holds the record. Just slightly, but still. But when this video was recorded Black Series was probably holding the #1 place. It's still #2 which is impressive.

Well my hat off to Mercedes on this model , they got the Porsche 911 body shape , but with a huge bonus of having the engine in the correct place ( up front ) where it gets additional cooling to the cooling provided by it's radiator. Well done !!!
