Best teaching on mount escape I have seen. For whatever reason, most instructors teach an either/or on this. The "one punch ko" approach is often ineffective....

Thanks Dbunkr55. I always like to teach combination moves because in BJJ, 2 moves will often yield 10x the results of using one alone especially against your peers who adapt to your game. Happy rolling (-: Coach Tom

Nice combo - going to try those 2 in combination with the one where you hook his ankle with your foot

Coach Tom, after seeing this as a combo move I can’t help wondering why all techniques aren’t taught as pairs that play off each other. It also naturally teaches defense. Maybe it’s just too much for a white belt but holy cow it’s a game changer for a no stripe white belt like myself to realize this aspect. Do you have a convenient list of combos somewhere I can read?
@TheGrapplingAcademy6 жыл бұрын
Good observation. I try to teach a combo off many of my moves both in my instructionals and youtube videos. Keep an eye out! (-: Coach Tom Davey

@@anthony-qw2fi got my purple belt 4 weeks ago 💜, I stuck with it and I love it! Edit: Just watched the video again, and now I'm pretty much exclusively using the kipping escape / the elbow escape a bit 😂

Very good Tom. Were I an instructor I would have my students drill combos. Once you are up against a competent opponent, one move won't get the job done.

Hi Blake. I haven't personally worn or seen one. My favourite gi at the moment is a Gameness air gi. Cheap, comfortable, durable and I like the fit. Sometimes you just have to roll the dice in gi purchases and one day you will end up like me with 50 gis! (-: Coach Tom

Hi professor, love your online lessons, one thing though: your head always tilts to one side, have you tried chiropractic medicine? Thanks for all the good tips!

You have a keen eye for my wonky head lol! Yes, my chiropracter Brian Tressider is a personal friend and blue belt student. I am just a wonky headed weirdo I suppose. (-: Professor Tom Davey
