Absolutely agree Steve and Wendy, you summed up what fulltime is like for us, Think getting the golden van as Wendy put it is not out there, always something to compromise, for us it was the bed, Lorna hates it and now sleeps on the lounge bed, safe travels guys 👍👊🚌🏴

Hello Guys, firstly great to see you both looking so well. Hope your enjoying Sweden and time with the family. You inspired us to purchase our Comanche and we have not looked back. Really enjoyed the vlog and cant wait to see your journey through the purchase and upgrading. Take care both Steve and Julie (Mr and Mrs P)

Great to hear from you. Yes we have enjoyed Sweden so much but just a few days left before we set off back to the UK for the obligatory 90 days out of Schengen. ❤️❤️❤️

We have been full-time for nearly 4 years, before taking the plunge we really looked at many van designs and decided on a Chausson Flash 14 (2011) with twin single beds. Perhaps we got lucky but it suits us perfectly. Not too big and not too small. We have no intention of ever changing. Your comment on how cheap it is to travel in Europe is spot on. In fact much of what you said is exactly what we feel. Safe travels !

Hey Suzi We are really hoping to get our "last van" although things change as life goes on so who knows; what suites us now may not be right in 5 years time. Yes our cost of living, especially when in Spain, is far lower than when in the UK. Even Sweden, which is mainly super expensive, have Diesel at £1.32 a litre. That's the lowest we've paid in years...

Am really shocked how much moorings have risen in price People try to downsize to boats,yet 4 tines more than council tax on a property. It really is not easy working everything out.Glad you are talking about it.
@TheHappyTravellers4 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Cost of living is an important topic, and we appreciate your comment on the video. Every bit of awareness of how much things cost will help I think. The boat mooring costs rising by over 20% was one of the deciding factors in selling our boat; not the biggest factor but it all goes into the mix :)

Thank you very interesting and very helpful if thinking of living in a van. Climbing over Wendy and dropping off the edge so good gracious me if you were 6ft. .Not winter it would be like living in a cold tin.Its perfect van for travelling though.Easy to park. Steven the 7.1 you saw on line sounds really nice and good Size If you are definatly thinking of living in tbe van and giving up tbe boat .You need to feel comfortable and feel like upur home.Am sure you will find sonething .You need a New one .Warranted and few years tax and service free The past disaster is in past though was very painful for you both so learning from it walk sofy with big stick choosing the next motor home to get it absolutely right providing you with everything you need and one hopefully with nice kitchen and bathroom.You must have everything you need at your age so you can get healthier and stronger and have energy to grow your chanel .You were so missed .Let's stay positive !

Great Content, very interesting, looking forward to seeing which van you choose. I think you are right, as you get older, need comfort, a suitable bed, if we were to buy another van, would definitely, go for single beds at the back, that make up to a very large double, have loads of garage space underneath and wardrobe space/storage. Can always be used as a sitting area too. ❤️😊 xx
@TheHappyTravellers5 ай бұрын
Yes Susan, we are considering single bed but the island bed is your preference ay the moment. We _think_ this will be our last van when we buy it BUT who knows what comes next ! It's exciting to think about searching for a bigger van so we're really looking forward to starting the search when we get back to England in September :)

I had the Weinsberg Carabus, sleeps 5 version. Like yours with double sized bunks which made it even harder to get in bed. I swapped out the weinsberg mattresses for memory foam ones. Happy memories of trips with my grandkids and my 2 dogs. Have downsized to a pop top renault trafic with rock n roll bed (very hard needs a thick topper) miss my Ducato 😢
@TheHappyTravellers5 ай бұрын
We have the same "sleep 5" version although I've taken the top bed out and put it in storage. I have fitted a shelf over the bottom section of the bed to allow us extra storage space. Yes we currently have 2 mattress toppers which makes it more comfortable. We really miss the Comanche we had before the Carabus... Travelling is a great way to create those happy memories :)

Yes stunningly interesting 😀 I would like to know a bit about having a camera in the van, so I can look on the smartphone and see if anything is going on, thanks 👍👍👍👍😁
@TheHappyTravellers5 ай бұрын
Noted! I have a couple of those cameras (in storage) that we used to good effect when we had the Comanche. When we get back to England I'll dig them out and get one set up to demo.

@@TheHappyTravellers Thanks that's great, you'll perhaps put them in your new van when you get one, enjoy the sunshine 🌞😁😁👍👍👍

Yes, they are USB powered (maybe rechargeable) and have sound and motion detection. Sound detection is so good (or bad) that when we were parked up at Rosjobaden with the Comanche and staying at our Sons house, the camera picked up the noise of the lawn mower outside the van and triggered an alert on my phone. Low light performance is not brilliant but works.
@vanscran16725 ай бұрын
@@TheHappyTravellers Perhaps there are cameras with more settings available now to adjust to your needs, when they send an alert it must be using data I presume 🤔🤔🤔 👍👍👍
