I grew up in a house out in the middle of corn fields. It didn't have central air condition or heat. No water except for the outside well which we had to prime a hand pump to get the water into a bucket to carry into the house for drinking, bathing, and doing the dishes. Had a warm morning pot belly stove in the living room that Dad loaded up with coal and it glowed cherry red hot. That was our only heat. On the coldest days of winter you could see ice on the inside of our bedroom cinder block wall as well as on the single pane window. When the well ran dry in the summer we went to nearby natural springs or spring houses with cleaned out milk jugs until we had water again in the well. Life was good back then. No, it was great. What you describe when you were younger I can definitely relate to. Best years of our lives was spent living in that cinder block house on the hill. God bless all who read this and watch her post.
@JonnyDoe17764 ай бұрын
I experienced similar conditions as a child but only indirectly. What I mean by that is I had family then that still lived in log cabins (the real ones, not these fancy ones now-a-days!) or small box houses with no water or plumbing. I would go and stay during the summers and holidays with my many cousins that lived there. It was hard living but we didn't know it. Everybody had a part. Every kid hunted and worked in the gardens and fields. Yes, it was hard but simple. And it was the greatest times in my life! I'm much older now and live in the city. I hate it and long for those days. I've dreamed of returning to that lifestyle for years but I doubt I'll ever make it before I get too old. But, I still have my memories and I can still dream.

Oh my goodness. Watching this 3 years later and 4 months ago I felt strongly compelled to read through from Genesis to Revelation. Four months later I’m already in Jeremiah. I truly feel that God , through the power of the Holy Spirit, has gifted me with a deep desire to see the whole picture, not just a few verses that I may interpret wrongly because I don’t understand who God is. These are wise words you are giving regarding the purpose of the offerings. Also, part of the food tithe was to be brought into storehouse for the widows, orphans and sojourners. In fact God accused the Israelites of robbing HIM when they had neglected this one tithe. Knowing this, helps us to know that this is something that God still requires of His children because God cares for these vulnerable groups.

Thank you sharing this, watching this triggered some wonderful memories of my mama in the kitchen making her southern style biscuits! My mother mixed her biscuit dough by using her hand to mix ingredients, it was awesome to watch her, she used crisco lard an buttermilk, she'd make a flour well, then put her lard inside the flour well, then buttermilk, she mixed the lard an buttermilk by squeezing it thru her fingers , then she would go around the flour well edge and with her fingers very lightly whisp the flour from the sides of flour well and incorporate it in with the liquid, there was a art /skill to it, she had small hands, an how she did this was so unique to watch! As she would go around the flour well an pulling flour from the sides then gentle squeeze it into the ball then lightly lift as she moved her fingers around the ball of of dough, till it was to her satisfaction then she would pinch an certain amount of dough of equal size and roll it gently in her palm an then place each one into her iron skillet, lightly flatten the tops of them down so all the sides touched each other,, then she would take a small amount of melted crisco an pat it on the tops of each one , they came a light golden brown an were light & fluffy an moist! They would melt in your mouth! she said started making biscuits when she was a young girl, she had 6 younger brothers an would help her mom out an learnt to cook at early age. When she I ask her how she did it without making any mess a tall, She said..I had plenty of practice over the years! I miss her very much and her biscuits as well.

I really needed to hear the message regarding putting more trust in God & finances. And another great biscuit recipe to boot as well. You're such a good teacher, too.

I absolutely LOVE when people say sop it up. My Grandma always said that when we were eating a meal,didn't matter what meal. If it was fried eggs, we sopped it up with a biscuit or a piece of toast. Same with lunch and dinner. I miss her and her awesome home cooked meals. I so enjoy watching your videos, Miss Becky. It's like food for the body and soul. And I love how you interweave your recipes with Scripture. You are one of a kind , Dear. Have a blessed day!🙏❤🙏💙🙏💜🙏🧡🙏💛🙏💚❣💌💟💞💝💗💖💕💓💚

Cut the biscuits thicker -3/4" - you don't need a rolling pin. Pat them out. Put them closer and they will support each other when they rise. Don't be afraid to add a bit more baking powder.

Don't ever stop sharing you faith in Jesus with others. A whole lot of people are so lost and going in the wrong direction right now and really need to hear the good news, even if you only reach a few or even one, the seeds are still being sown.As Christians, we see the things that happening now with ever increasing frequency and intensity and know what that means, the signs are everywhere,he is returning very soon. The world is falling so fast and most people know and see it but don't know why. Your doing a great thing sister, don't let anyone tell you else wise. God Bless you and and your family 🙂

Truly appreciate your support and encouragement. You are a blessing. I get a wide range of negative comments about my Christian faith. Some people respectfully disagree and some are rude and vulgar. What they fail to realize is that even the worst comments make me happy, because I know that they have heard. I delete the bad ones because I try to keep all my comments clean and Jesus said, " Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Thank You! God Bless You!!!

I totally agree with you. Time is truly short and Jesus is coming VERY SOON! I'm very pleased that I came to this post wanting to know how to make biscuits and came away with knowing that I have a precious sister than not only knows how to bake but knows how to share the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep up the great work. And be VERY BLESSED!
