Command: Modern Operations is the next generation in cross-domain modern wargaming. It enables you to simulate every military engagement from post World War II to the present day and beyond. The scale is primarily tactical/operational, although strategic scale operations are also possible.

Always double check the weather in a scenario to understand how sensors will operate. With the medium cloud layer down to 7k feet, your aircraft could not spot or use laser target painters from altitude. The Sniper XR Pods on your F-16s is a great targeting pod, but you were limited by the fact that they always had the clouds between them and any potential targets.

Hope u'll post more u playing this game though :-). I did have CMANO but found the 70 euro pricetag a bit much as u need diff modules/dlc aswell. Anyway bought the game with the 50% off + some dlc

BTW, in reality Mirages have been and still are frontline strike package of PAF that employ stand-off weapons. F-16s are too valuable to send for strike missions.

There should be 3 ground units at each "Reported Indian Location." A mix of tanks and mechanized infantry. Getting those drones down below the cloud cover or turning on the radar on the Helos would have helped you spot them. The south ones are particularly hard to spot because they are in ground clutter on the outskirts of a city. Also spamming cruise missiles at those Spyders didn't work for me, They seem to be able to spam SAMs right back. That northern one was particularly obnoxious for me both times I played this scenario.

When calculating target distance altitude is used. While able to launch at 36k, it is better at 12k or around that area. If you see a timer under target then you lost “eyes” on it X time ago. Due to the realism the game goes for the will NOT waste weapons. Very few can just fire on direction. Only two weapons I can think of is torpedoes and a ship to ship missile. The game expects you to use support aircraft together for no losses. They real world military try hard to lose nothing for missions like this. Even though they do not always succeed. Command dev has even promoted a person who made tutorials on this game because some mechanics in game are hard to understand.

Those UCAVs need to have a clear objective on take off. They cant sniff electronic signals, as they only have TV and FLIR module I think.

Su-30 (Sukhoi!!) is not the most modern fighter of the IAF, that would be the Rafale. I don't know if you fixed it later, but when your F-16s could not engage the ground targets with their Paveways it might be because either the Paveways can't strike moving targets (check the weapon's db) or because your Vipers flew above the cloud cover for the targeting pod to lase properly. If you fly under the cloud cover, you might need to check the minimum height of employment for your weapons so you don't fly below that.

The Su-30MKI variant that India uses was first flown in 2000 with production/introduction occurring in 2002. The Dassault Rafale C was first flown in 1991 and introduced in 2001. It looks to me like India is getting a newer variant of the Rafael (F3?) but I'm not sure how meaningfully different they are. They're pretty similar in terms of age and modernity between both the Rafale and newer Su-30 designs. Both aircraft have their roots in the 1980s with heavy modifications in the late 90s early 2000s.

@@thehistoricalgamer the Rafale the Indians are getting are the F3R variant, with RBE-2 AA AESA radar, MICA and Meteor AA missiles, SCALP cruise missiles, AASM precision guided munitions. The Rafale is the latest addition in India's aircraft inventory, having been ordered in 2016 and with the first planes arriving in 2020. I would say they are a fair bit more modern than the Su-30s, which are almost 20 years old now(although constantly upgraded with new weapons).

@@thehistoricalgamer Rafael are more expensive and whole French arms industries image is on this so they have to give their best varient possible and we have indigenous parts making of Rafael coming soon too and Pakistan will loose it's mirage and have to fight with Chinese fighters and we are reshuffling our threater commands as well there is no way Pakistan can inflict that much damage to us given superior manpower,expenditure and equipment and supply lines.

attack at sam at 1159 is it because they were at 36000 feet no visual due to clouds ?

That's exactly what it is. You need visual line of sight from a unit capable of lasing the targets to successfully use laser guided bombs. Note, it doesn't necessarily need to be the unit dropping the ordnance. If you check the weather or the throttle and altitude tab there are clouds between the unit and the target.

So I got the game and it freezes and loads the map slowly is there something I can do to help it run better. My specs are AMD Ryzen 7 5800x 24gb ram, M.2 and GTX 1660 ti 6gb VRAM.

Goto the forums, the have list of options to turn off to help. This game is quite demanding. I hope you can find out what works for you

Is it just this scenario or AI in this game doesn't looks smart, like even after initial attack on enemy forces, we don't really see aggressive CAP by enemy aircrafts. So is it worth buying for PvE.

This depends more on the person designing whatever scenario you want to play. I haven't bought Kashmir Fire yet so I don't know how the AI was designed for it.

Pakistan losing 3 fighters and 1 attack Helo is a pyrrhic victory. they cant afford to lose more than 1 to about 4 against India. so I'm not surprised its classing that as a fail. if the US wasn't building any Carriers during the Coral sea. yea you killed one but you lost one too and they still have 10 more to your 2.

SA-3 is radar guided, so once you kill the radar the missiles will go stupid and miss.

Some SAM systems are semi-guided where they use the initial lock to close with the target and then an on board radar manages the terminal stage, the AIM-120 A2M is like that… but given the SA-3 is older that makes sense it would require the radar the whole way. Thanks.

@@thehistoricalgamer "The initial SA-3A GOA Mod 0, deployed in 1961, includes command guidance throughout the missile's flight." But I understand that CMO might not model all systems correctly - I mean there are so many different weapons systems in this game. I do enjoy playing it though, especially the naval combat aspect of the game!

"Ground targets seem very difficult to acquire." I mean, when you're _36,000 feet in the air_ I imagine they would be, yeah. Especially when using laser guided bombs, I imagine those lasers lose focus at such ranges through cloud cover or even just the sheer distance. I guess this is what happens when you insist on jumping into every game and trial+erroring your way through it instead of sitting down and reading the manual :/ It's really not fun as a viewer to sit and listen to you get angry at the game because of *your* mistakes that you don't even realize you're making because you *didn't learn how the game works.*

@Behemoth Interesting then that the professional version of this simulator is used by USAF and BAE. Guess I’ll go and inform them that it’s horrible and that it’s my expert opinion that they should use something else
