As an engineer myself, I'm always in awe of those who can "think" with their hands. It's amazing to share an idea with someone and just watch them turn an idea into a working prototype. Sometimes it's the other way around where they have the idea and I'm the one making drawings based on their ideas.

Great Project! Just a warning though., my father back in the day purchased a homemade fence system and it was painted with anti rust metal paint. It looked great and it was strong. He used it for a pen for our pigs. Over a period of time the pigs started to get sick and some died. The vet investigated and they died from being poisoned by the paint they nibbled on, on the fence. The builder also sprayed the metal feed bins, and that was not a good idea. I only mentioned it as there are some chemicals in paint that are not animal friendly. Possibly, it could have been lead base paint, I am not sure but it is something to think about as your herd of animals are precious.

Ben and Meg, you have done an amazing job transforming your Homestead in this short amount of time. I watched your first video a week ago of the first day/week you moved onto the farm. You do an amazing job amending the soil to create compost for your garden. Tip: do you have anybody who houses horses near you? I live in a suburban area and a guy who housed horses would give his horse manure from the stables away for free to gardeners. (he didn't have to haul it away or dispose of it-Perfect) I loaded up a truckload of manure every year. And unlike the cow manure-it didn't smell and is not wet. It was almost like compost from the start. Just a thought.

Ben, love watching you and your creativity. Your work is always not only functional but so well thought out and beautiful. I know you are a professional welder, but many of your viewers may not be and may not be familiar with the dangers of welding galvanized metal - even something like the hog panels. When I lived in Virginia, I belonged to the North Carolina Blacksmith Association - hopefully you have had the opportunity to join - and we lost one of the really great blacksmiths, Jim "Paw Paw" Wilson, who knew better but was in a rush and exposed himself to the deadly fumes that are off gassed from galvanized metal. Thanks for sharing your lives - be safe and you, Meg and your beautiful children - have a very Merry Christmas.

My husband has been welding for almost 50 years. He's 76 now and still welding and loves it when he gets to weld something. He's going to use the cattepanels and weld me a greenhouse/high tunnel with them. I want it like 14-16' wide so he's going to add to the cattlepanels length and that way they will be wider. We plan on using meta driven into the ground about 2' and then weld the panels to it to hold them in place. Since we're in the south we need height so the heat can get out on each end. Good job on your project. I know Miah and Jess will enjoy those. Merry Christmas Hollars!

That's a hard frost! I love the welding equipment in the wagon to make it portable! Thanks for this Ben. It really looks good! That caster looks very beefy! Did you get those at Harbor Freight? I'm glad you could order your wheels. Nice, so 4" of clearance for the wheels. That should make it so it could be pushed over fairly tall grass. I don't think any of your stuff looks "janky". It doesn't feel like it's almost Xmas to me either, my internal clock is running a week behind. We even forgot our eldests birthday this week! She sent me a bunch of flowers, 3 days later, congratulating us on the 27th birthday of our firstborn! We have been busy redoing the slate floor in our Queensland room, same as a Florida room in the USA. It's been mid 30sC this week, looking forward to a wet 25°C Xmas day here in Sydney. Happy Xmas.
