I decided to have 100 calories a meal when I was in my eating disorder, which is crazy. Understand that we burn around 1200 - 1500 calories a day from Simply living, if you are active (not overly) and eat 500 calories less than your recommended intake a day. You will automatically lose weight. If you exercise, you will actually have to eat a bit more calories a day, depending on how much and how hard you exercise that is. If you wanna lose weight, it's important to cut back sugar and stick to a calorie count that helps you eat less throughout the day, but think about what you eat. I've lost 11 kilos so far, by switching regular sodas to zero, eating fiber rich granola, specifically with no added sugar and high protein. Regular foods for dinner like meats (chicken, fish) and eating less snacks.

If you really want to lose weight, first eat more vegetables. They have natural fiber that makes you full, nutrients that will give your body what it needs to perform a whole slew of things it should do, and water content. You have more to think about than calories if you want to prevent overeating, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, etc. that can be caused by an improper diet. Learn more about the amount of saturated fats and sodium in your food. Also, don't always trust labels that say "heart healthy" without reading the nutrition facts and looking at "servings per container". Educate yourself and don't feel ashamed of yourself if you're not where you're at, because that kind of negative thinking can cause more stress that just makes you want to eat more. Also, I don't trust a lot of ready-made food from the store like chips, bread, pasta, etc. because I often find that they're easy to eat a whole bunch of. Vegetables and food made from scratch though seem to be much more filling, more nutritious, and the amount that makes me full adds up to less calories than that ready-to-eat, processed stuff from the store.
@endeavoring3527 жыл бұрын
Added sugars though... avoid them like the plague. They're very addicting and keep you coming back for more. They're typically in foods that are VERY easy to eat loads of (cake, ice cream, muffins, and cookies, just to name a few) and that contain too much unhealthy dairy fat, calories, etc. while adding barely anything to the amount of essential vitamins and minerals that your body needs.

It's not the calories, it's the nutrition. If you eat the right stuff your body won't ask for more, you won't overeat. Also, there are many calorie-dense foods and ingredients that are actually quite healthy, like olive oil, and many other fat-based meals that contain the right types of fat.
@Penguinish7 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is very important to keep in mind! For example, olive oil and Fish have good fat which is good for your health, but for example cheese, red meat, butter etc. have bad fat which is the opposite!

Da Boo Try adding more satiating foods like whole grains and make sure to eat leafy greens. If you want to lose weight then ok, but if not then eat your resting metabolic weight calories that it burns. For example eggs are low on satiating foods, so maybe try to eat something more satiating. Your diet sound pretty healthy, but just make sure your getting enough calories.
@JohnnyAmerique6 жыл бұрын
Da Boo Whole wheat bread has a higher glycemic impact than just eating straight table sugar. Eliminate grains and refined carbohydrates if you want to lose weight and not be hungry all the time. Calories really don’t matter. If you’re eating (actually) healthy food, it’s virtually impossible to overeat.
@JohnnyAmerique6 жыл бұрын
Jules _Logan That’s about the dumbest advice ever. Eating grains is no different from just eating plain sugar - maybe even worse in many people, as grains tend to be quite inflammatory.

Fettuccine Alfredo is not an Italian dish, it exists only in other countries' Italian restaurants, but not in Italy. And here a normal plate of pasta is between 300 and 500 calories depending on the sauce you use. You might find more elaborated plates in restaurants that can push those calories up to 800/1000. Normal plates at home are actually healthy. But don't look at me I still have an eating disorder, I never have more than 65gr of pasta and my sauce is just vegetables and some tomato. I've been dealing with EDs for 8 years now, it's like a roller coaster. At my lowest I reduced my calorie intake to 300/400 per day, and I do 4 to 7 hours of ballet, 5/7 days. Sometimes I'd also go running or do other kinds of physical exercises. Now I'm doing better in terms of weight (I was 38kg now I'm 49, but I've also been 32kg in the past which is kinda scary). Tho, inside my brain it's always the same. Even harder because then I would just reduce the food and that's it, but now I have to fight my brain like: forcing myself to eat while wanting to restrict. For certain periods of time I manage to hit those 1800/2000 calories I need, while these days I struggle to reach 1500/1600 and I have very bas anxiety with panic attacks every now and then. Sad truth is,not all the bodies are the same, and no matter how much I restrict or exercise, not even how low my weight is: I don't look the way I eat. I'm not saying I'm fat, even if I see myself as fat. But I'm not as thin as I should be either. Anyways, this video made me even more anxious. Don't get me wrong, I love your videos. I eat when I am hungry (fuel foods). Salads, fruit, water, etc. are a little bit different story... I probably eat an average of somewhat over 2000 calories a day, but not much more than 2000 calories a day, on average. The biggest sources of calories for me (more or less) are poultry, red meat, fruit, fruit juice, nuts, and potatoes and/or avocados, and yes, sometimes soda/chocolate/fruit candy more rarely as well, to be honest (it just varies here). But, again, my primary fuel foods are chicken, peanuts, beef, oranges, grapes, cashews, almonds, berries and cherries in the summer, pistachios, walnuts, turkey, sunflower seeds, avocado, potato, banana, egg, salmon, lamb, berry juice, grape juice, corn, etc. I certainly eat beans, quite a lot of vegetables (compared to most folks), seeds, fish and a little bit of rice/grains, but no dairy, and very little to no pastries. I drink a moderate to larger amount of water per day... Chicken and oranges, more or less... 😁

The great English Breakfast is great .. but to be fair to it’s calorie value , most guys eating a whole Cooked Breakfast at 07 h 00 will most probably be working in physical jobs such as construction or other manual job , giving plenty of power to start the day , working out carrying heavy loads or going up and down steps all day in hot and cold climates . There is also a high chance this breakfast / meal is their only source of food for the day , as many don’t stop for a lunch break ... so all in all not too bad

Wait REAL SHIT Does calories influence hunger or appetite cause i don't feel I should be eating 14 Watermelons on the daily ? Like do I eat 26 apples and consider it a day or jollying a quantity 624 strawberries? Like what
@SFTMKW7 жыл бұрын
Well, mass as compared to calories would probably help you with feeling full in most cases. A single medium strawberry is 12g, so good luck eating nearly 7 and a half kilograms, or 16 and a half entire pounds of strawberries.
@charvikripalani22707 жыл бұрын
Well the answer to your doubt is simple not only calorie but source of calories is important for e.g. you might have seen that for Indian curry there are way too many calories (2000 I guess) but I have 3 bowls on a daily basis so Apple calories are more than bacon because of sugar presence Indian curry has absolutely no sugar and is not filling at all ( trust me it’s like water that light) sugars affect your energy and health not calories.

This video is oversimplifying it. Just counting calories like that can actually be harmful - best case scenario you will either feel like shit or have cravings for more food or will fail to follow the diet. You have to understand macronutrients and at least make sure that most of your diet isn't high glycemic carbs (like you suggested with having just a bagel for breakfast) and that you are consuming some amount of fat\protein daily.
@EmmyRainbows6 жыл бұрын
A 100 calorie piece of bread becomes 200 when you put a spoon of butter on it. Most of the foods that we think of as high carb (cupcake, donuts, cake, cream cheese bagel, pizza etc) actually contain more cals from fat than from carbs. Its the excess oil and toppings in those carbs that make us fat, we don't usually eat plain pasta/bread/potatoes without fat accompanying it.
@mrmangbro68427 жыл бұрын
Since the recommended calorie daily is ~2,500 I believe I that a "Do You Know How Much 500/1000 Calories Is" would be a bit better
