In 1972 I was lucky enough to see him at Funky Quarters in San Diego. I sat 20 feet away and I will never forget it. What a wonderful show and night.

So true... Love him biding his time on rhythm... I remember well that sad 1992 Thanksgiving holiday week when we lost Alberts King & Collins!

PS A great thrill was shaking his mitt from the stage at a killer show in New York, 1990...Still under rated music legend!

@@pedrorobertomoraes2904 Notice he truly plays upside down…strings and all! A lot of that strange (but amazing) tone comes from that… And his six-foot five, ham fisted soul…love The Great Man…

note the upside down guitar stringing, with the treble strings at the top. That's the way Albert learned to play, he just took a right handed guitar and flipped it the other way around and did not change the string orientation. It is worth noting that without Albert King we probably wouldn't have had Jimi Hendrix, at least not in the same way that we think of him and remember him. Jimi said that Albert was a huge influence on him, although Jimmy did learn how to flip his own guitar strings around! And then there's Stevie Ray Vaughn, quite obviously a disciple of Albert's tone and style.

Wrong, it was made by John Bolin, who is the regular guitar builder for Billy Gibbons. And commissioned by Gibbons as a birthday present.

I love King Albert but I don't know about his choice of stage technicians, there are a few live shows where I don't like the sound of how they've set up his guitar amp .
@mrJimCharles11 жыл бұрын
You mean who, right? There are actually three guitarists, the left-handed guy with the Strat that plays a solo as well is almost certainly Little Jimmy King.
