Oh, Teresa, I know what you mean, I've been hiding out in my sewing room. I do have a TV but, un-cabled and un-dished, lol, it's music or Kate, or one of many subscription quilters. Nearly done with the Christmas gifts, so it's been progressing nicely. The elections will be over real soon, then we'll have to listen to the back seat news Politian's yammering on and on. We'll be able to come out in time for Thanksgiving, Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

This video has inspired me to dig out a cardigan that my Mom has made 40 years ago for herself. She has been gone for 30 years now. She was so proud of it, but at the time I didn't give her the credit she deserved.
@soshesews91172 ай бұрын
It is not to late to give her credit! It is wonderful that you still have the cardigan. I have a shawl that my mother crocheted for me almost 30 years ago. I cherish it and when it is cold outside, I love to wrap the shawl around my shoulders and think of my mother. I will think of you and your mothers cardigan now too!

Kate.....you are just amazing to me. I am not a knitter, but loved seeing you accomplish this sweater. The sweater fits you beautifully. Can't suggest a clue about finding those buttons. I think, if you don't find them the sweater will still be a "masterpiece". I have watched you for years and have loved every minute. Sending love and a hug to my friend in England.....YOU! Talk about you all the time. I'm an 85 year old quilter and live in Pueblo, Colorado, USA. You provide much joy in my life and I thank you. Judy

I was very pleased to see you knitting. I have just started to knit again. The last knitting I did was to finish a sweater that my twin sister ( Kate) had started. She died very suddenly and I knew she hated having unfinished projects so I had to finish it. Her daughter now cherishes it. Some how it's taken me 18 months to pick up my needles again. I'm doing a top down cardy too. Love your videos. X

Oh Kate, thank you so much for breaking this down into time fragments! So many crafter's videos don't tell you how long it takes to make the items. You don't know if the project will take four weekends or four months of weekends. :) It is so nice to know that a sweater took you almost five months to make. Many of my projects have taken months to years longer to finish. I have ADHD so I go between projects to keep me working on them. Like you, I knit, crochet, sew or quilt, cross stitch, and even have started the diamond painting bug. HA HA. Blessing to you and keep making these beautiful videos. (I'm from California, USA)

Hi dearest Kate! Long time I sent you any comment but be assured that I’m following your updates both here and on Patreon. Every moment with you is like meeting an old friend. 💕 Thank you for this particular one! My summer past so fast. We moved from Stockholm area to southern Sweden, bought a house in fact (!) and I’m loving it. I finally left work and have retired which means a LOT of time to do what I’m loving most: crafting and spending time with my children and grandchildren. Sounds familiar? 😉 But back to your cardigan. The construction is so interesting and the yarn is absolutely lovely! And I really enjoyed you showing the process. I knit a lot. My favourite craft for sure, although I now have a sweater on my needles that makes me think about changing 😁 It is the most challenging yet, involving increase, decrease and short rows whilst knitting a braided pattern. I actually had to write down the pattern in my size separately to be able to follow it 😅. I admit, I’m a stubborn person. But I’m also learning so much. And that’s the essence of it. Being able to learn and use the knowledge later. That is why I love your videos! By showing the process you teach more then you may know. Well, I leave you to whatever is on your creative mind and look forward to see the outcome. Wishing you a joyful December and the happiest Christmas since it can take half a year before I let hear from myself next time. Be well in the Last Homely House. I’m getting back to the Lime Green and pick up my needles. Love 🩷💚/M

She always had a basket of leftover yarn for us to practice our skills and of course made sweaters for us. I have a way of finding those things, it works more than half the time. I sketch the rooms as a little map from above, as much or as little detail as you like. Then I sit with the drawing and slowly move my hand over it, asking my hand to get warm when I’m getting close. I am the same person who tucked the buttons away, so that memory is in there somewhere. I just ask my hand to help the memory come out. Sometimes it can take a few tries, maybe more than one drawing. But it works very often. Good luck 😉🐾💙🕊️ Thank you for sharing your journey through the seasons and the knitting, with lovely cat Rita.

Oh Kate! It's lovely. The wool was beautiful to begin with but you also did a wonderful job. The fit is perfect. Needs pockets for a hanky or whatever. You will get a great deal of use out of it. I have foam mats and those pins that are on a plastic base so you can pin down a longer area at once. I think with that wool, I'd like pink buttons and a single row pink strip in the cuffs and hem ribbing. Perhaps at the neck. Nothing intense, just an homage to the pink in the wool.
