A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I have not touched my sewing machine since. @lisandramauras5255, I’ve begun to make a bunch of legacy baby quilts even though my sons are not yet husbands or dads. I’ve also had a medical diagnosis that puts in question whether I’ll be around to witness my grandkids enter the world sometime in the future. This is my way to let them know they were loved even before they were born. I’ve also included “Love, Nana” quilt labels and boxed the quilts with notes of “permission” that if the parents don’t like or want the quilts, I ask them to donate them to a charity. So many times, people hold on to gifted items thinking they would insult the giver by passing it to someone else. I just want someone, sometime, somewhere to enjoy the quilts!

Good morning, Kate. I know this is a year ago. But I found u now.. I've been watching u for a few months in my sewing room. My name is Mona. I'm 59 years old. My hubby and I are retired, and we love getting up at 3:30 am . I've been putting u on my tv with my morning coffee. I really enjoy your channel. I really love your home. Mine is not quite as homely as yours, I would love for it to be!!!! It's modern-day . I quilt. I love your curtains! I have the same type of windows. I have shear fabric blinds for now. Your curtains you have made in the sewing room, too. Oh my!! I've watched all the way to the end, and I get sad that it's ended... my hubby and I are looking for a place to visit in the next year or so. I watch the hoof G.P. in Scotland. I told my hubby we should go and help him with the cows. My hubby said no lets go see Kate at the last homely house!" We live in the U.S. 😊 sincerely Mona Piper

The curtains are absolutely lovely - especially hung with a gentle breeze coming through the open window. Loved spending the day with you.

Kate I love how you acknowledge that having several projects going at a time is ok. I will accept as of today that having several projects going at a time is ok 😂 It’s been challenging inside my own head telling myself that not finishing one project at a time is a form of procrastination 🙈 I love your channel.

Just letting cats in and out can take up a large part of the day. Thank you so much for sharing. Now I see just how busy your days are!

I always enjoy watching you while I am working on a project. Today it's a crocheted baby blanket. I also love working on dish cloths. They are great to work on while relaxing. Have a lovely day Kate! :) Sharon from California x x

The curtains are lovely! You are so natural in the camera and I so admire that! I live in Colorado now but raised our 6 children in California. They are spread out across the USA. The seams you made on the curtains are called flat felled here, often used in the inner seam of jeans and shirts. I’ve been sewing since I was 11 and am 80 now. Many years I sewed for family, all kinds of clothes including wedding ensembles eventually! Now I enjoy quilt piecing, intending to complete a quilt for each of my 15 grands, already have done a baby quilt for each of our 10 greats!!! Keeps me quite busy. Thought you might enjoy some of story of one of your fans. I’ve only discovered you in the past several months. I truly enjoy your videos when all is quiet here and I get inspired with each one! I so enjoy your British vernacular! And have been to Newcastle years ago!
