smotnick No, I think that wasn't the case at all, they actually did a great job with the combination of funny and sad, cause in some moments you can see that even though they are laughing and stuff, deep down they are terrified, sad and hopeless (even before Louise killed that ass, you could see it in the scene where thelma told her that "she left a Note", cause to be honest her life is nothing to laugh about, and I'm pretty sure that she knows that, but they still try to make the best out of it and kinda try to escape the hard reality with pretending not to take things as serious as they actually are. The trailer just didn't show that

Mirandya S well I did see the movie, recently, as part of Fathom Events. Scott doesn't do comedy well. That's just not his forte'. It's like asking Allen do direct sci fi. In addition to that, the ending was just too out of the blue dark. It didn't have a "build up" to that. If screenwriter Khourie insisted on a "downer" ending, she should have figured out a less negative ending for her "heroines" or something that was more consistent with the characters.

Was in grade school when I went to see a Steven Seagal film (I think it was Marked for Death) and I clearly remember seeing the trailer during the previews. Especially that last image with the Thunderbird revving up all that dust which stuck with me.

The best time to watch this movie is in the early afternoon on a warm, clear, Spring day. Then go outside and let the sun soak into your skin and warm you up for a few minutes as you process the emotional rollercoaster you just went on.

Oh my, just came crossed the movie and watched again by accident after so many years, so touched unbelievably, even much more shocked than many years ago. A master piece will definitely be tested through time and even more shining after polished by the years of audience had. So powerful the story told, So natural and fluent the screenplay written, So truly acting the actresses approached, laughed and signed all the way and cried in the end. “Give me liberty or give me death”. These two housewives, went through nirvana, transformed to new selves, wearing American flag hat and cowboy hat, with Grand Canyon on their back, with the courage in their heart, with the determination in their eyes, riding forward fearlessly, to death, showed the true spirit of US, the diamond inside human. Love Ridley Scott.

Director Ridley Scott, actors Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis, Harvey Keitel all do an amazing job at balancing humor, momentum, tension and resolution. This film, years ahead of the #metoo movement, takes the core of films like "Nine to Five" and pushes it to the limit. Film critic Roger Ebert said it was "near perfect". This film inspired Tori Amos to write her famous song, "Me and a Gun".

Actually, the movie showed how gullible and vulnerable women can become when dealing with men. Married to an abusive man, gets SA by a man she met at a bar restaurant, and picks up a bank robber hitchhiker and leaves her money on a nightstand for him to steal were not extreme ways to prove THIS.

There should be a sequel to this movie. One of the best movies ever and we saw them go over this cliff. BUT, we didn't see them land and die. For all we know they survived and are well and alive in Mexico. Seriously, they could have survived that fall and been long gone. So guys, make a sequel and and keep this thing going.

"Thelma y Louise van a ir a pescar" - Me imagino que un trailer así era necesario si no querías asustar a la audiencia con una película en la que se iba a hablar de violación, asesinato, robo y desobediencia conyugal. Con este trailer no sabrías q ibas a ver ridiculizado a un esposo machista o ver un cambión volar en pedazos mientras el horrible dueño llora de impotencia. Con un trailer como este no sabrías que la infidelidad de una de las protagonistas causaría mil sonrisas, no sólo por con quien la comete (Un Brad Pitt jovensísimo) sino porque el esposo era un tipo despreciable en la película. Era 1991 y una película feminista generalmente no era protagonizada por estrellas atractivas, no habían grandes aventuras y estaban lejos de ser heroínas - BADASSES. Thelma y Louise es mi película favorita. Lo fue cuando la vi a los 15 años, lo es hoy con 43 y posiblemente lo sea cuando cumpla 80. La razón es sencilla: Las mujeres seguimos revelándonos contra el mundo machista, que ya no lo es tanto como hace 30 años, pero sigue siéndolo y mientras las frases de Thelma a Louise sigan siendo verdad: "Ese tipo me estaba lastimando. Y si tu no hubieras aparecido cuando lo hiciste, él me hubiera lastimado mucho peor. Y probablemente no le hubiera pasado nada porque todos me vieron bailar con él toda la noche. y habrían creído que lo merecía.
