I am in college right now and debt terrifies me. My first year I had to live on campus, so I have quite a bit of debt from that. I am now a sophomore in college and work part time to pay for my apartment. This last year I’ve been working on keeping myself from getting in several thousands more of debt and paying off or saving whenever I can. I am a big time saver, so I try to be cautious about every little thing I do lol

The great American "myth" is not understanding how your credit score affects EVERYTHING--employment, how much you pay for car insurance. Don't be naive. Dave Ramsey can afford to have a zero credit score, he's a billionaire. Until you reach billionaire status, you need to have a good credit score. www.creditpatriots.com
@needtoknow1989
@needtoknow1989 7 жыл бұрын
Denise Kuenzel not a billionaire but I have obtained cars at 0%interest with a 0 credit score. Your credit score only tells how good you are at getting debt not how good you are with your finances. When I know my car is showing signs of needing to be replaced I start looking at car prices and make payments into a savings account for at least a year. Then when I go in to the dealer. I never let them run my credit. They see my bank statements and my savings deposits both of which show I can comfortably make the payments without living paycheck to paycheck. Now I know that the most common scenario is someone is so good at racking debt and making minimum payments and so creditors will gladly lend them knowing that A they'll make money off of them in interest and/or B if they default well at least it's a secured debt and they can repossess. I've also done something similar when I got my home but for that I did put 50% down and showed my rental paying history, a recommendation letter from my landlord as well as one from my employer. Allowing someone to run your credit score is like saying please tell me how much you want me to give you. Instead of this is what I can guarantee you'll get.

You don't need a credit score, when you're out of debt and pay cash for everything. Cash for your car. Put a huge cash down payment on your house, and only get a loan for a much smaller amount. "The borrower is slave to the leander".

I had to buy a small home just because I was in the Rent Trap floating on a sinking raft. (1). I cut the cable (Dish 72/month) and put up an antenna. (2). Mortgage is 150-200 less than rent I was paying. (3). Working on lower grocery expense by cooking meals, not getting frozen entrees. (4). Paying down CC debt by pushing all extra money onto highest balance and small payments on lower balance cards. (5). Trying to clean up credit report and negative accounts are unwilling to verify or delete derogatory information to keep me a slave to the banks.

@MicheleNichols2
@MicheleNichols2 7 жыл бұрын
It's not bad. All it does it affect your FICO score which you only need if you want to borrow money. IF you get out of debt, why would you ever wanna be in debt ever again. You don't actually need a FICO score. All it tells you is whether you are good at borrowing money and paying it back. That’s it. 35% of your score is based on your debt history, 30% is based on your debt level, 15% is based on the length of time you’ve been in debt, 10% is based on new debt, & 10% is based on type of debt.In order to have an 800 you need to borrow 100K over the course of about 10 years. After you pay off all your debt your score goes to nothing. Not bad like a 350 just nothing which is fine. I'd rather have money in my bank accounts than debt. Don't get a car payment either yuck. www.daveramsey.com/blog/the-truth-about-car-payments www.moneypeach.com/the-main-thing-about-car-payments-they-suck/

Sign up for a FREE CreditKarma account. It will give you an accurate credit score and even has a tool to look at what might happen to your score if you do different things. I just did this and to close my oldest credit line (it is with a local bank and i am changing to another bank) it will affect my credit score by 2 or 3 points - not enough to keep it.

Ok, this is another one of my favorites. I took your example on how to get out of debt by paying off one of the bills, (I only have two) I paid off the lower one with the higher interest and then focusing now on my other loan. $$

My credit cards are maxed out and my credit score is 580 and below 500 across the 3 credit bureaus, I was so depressed with thinking day by day how my credit is gonna be fixed. I contacted some companies and they work on my credit for 2 weeks without changing anything. I left them and asked my friend to help me get out of this mess. He introduce me to the man that change my life for good. He helped me increase my credit score to 815 excellent standard within 72 hours and helped me clear all the debts on my credit cards in 3 weeks after fixing my credit score. I can't stop thinking him as he is the best i could refer to everyone mi know. send an email to him : Solaracreditfix AT Gmail dot com
