Midlands of SC were not to be effected much. Lost power for 28 hrs but had full house generator. I didnt prepare because it was only be rain. Wrong. Our grocery stores are out of food. Flooding. Broad River will be coming down soon. One place we loved Chimney Rock town is gone. Asheville is an island. Pray for this nation as area is huge.

Thank you for updating us, I've been so worried about all my KZbin families in that area. I'm in Memphis we only got rain, 4" on Friday. Thank you for letting us know about Nat & Katie, and Two Turtles. Justin and Rebecca got hit hard but are ok. Hey Sean, I wrote you earlier today via email, I'm glad to know your circle is safe. I was watching the devastation in East Tenn. /and/ Western NC which spurred me to write, right then and there, seeing the bridges disappear and the raging rivers, I was like Oh, Shit !! I had that dream of you chasing chickens around the yard. Sending my thought to you and everyone out there. Usually October and November are the last hurrah of storm season. Beware and Prepare !!

Sean, we live in washington county just off the nolichuckey river. We are lifelong floridians and have weathered every south florida hurricane over the last 50 years. This flood is like nothing i have ever seen. Every bridge is gone, every home that has always been safe from flooding is gone. There is no water, as all the water plants are destroyed, there is no electricity, but if you get 1/2 mile from the river, there is no trace of the flood. This flood was 8 ft higher than the previous record. It rose 30 ft in 12 hours. We were able to get across the 1 remaining bridge to make it into town for supplies. This storm was much more than expected and the federal government is no where to be found. Any help is from locals helping their neighbors. Mountain folk are really special!

FEMA is supposed to already have boots on the ground they abundance that on Saturday on the news. I have saw many agencies already out there in the areas. Samaritan purse, Red Cross and others are there. I been praying for the area I am from East Tennessee we got allot of wind and rain but nothing compared to what you all received there. We lost power for just a couple hours

My parents’ community flooded during Harvey. Clean up is a massive project. It’s surreal when it happens in an area that has never experienced anything like it in the past. Five feet of water in a house that has never had any flooding in the neighborhood is hard to wrap your head around. Thankfully the National Guard convinced my family to evacuate on the last high water truck out.

See you tube on the simple pump goes over an existing well for manual water and of course what generator type you would want . We have multiple solar generators but with 2 weeks of no sun it feels vulnerable as a back up ,,any way all the best !
