dont be an idiot johnny....lance has done more good for the cause of cancer than any other athlete! .....the whole doping stuff is a sideshow and a distraction that can never negate lance's greatness on the bike especially in the TDF! The era he competed was different than now and everyone was on "something" -thus it was an even playing field!
@johnnyalexander5219

@@biden_crime_family What a stupid comparison, these are 2 very different topics. He was a cheat, and just because others were also cheating does not justify it. How many sport’s athletes have become ill or died because of doping? Just because he fought cancer, has nothing to do with the fact that he was one of the biggest cheats in the history of sports. He also made his teammates join the program. Have some integrity. Clearly this is lacking.

Pogacar absolutely had a horrible day, not slightly bad, horrible, when he cracked and lost almost 6 minutes to Jonas on stage 17. He also had 2 bad days when he lost over a minute early in the race and when he lost over a minute and a half on the time trial. Jonas didn’t have bad days. That’s the difference. Jonas had some days when he lost seconds to Pogacar at a time, but he did great minimizing time lost and was patient and played the long game.
@riquelmeone
@riquelmeone Жыл бұрын
You cannot call every time loss a bad day. Pogacar’s time trial was certainly not a bad day. Vingegaard losing a couple of seconds was certainly not a bad day. Pogacar had two bad days. The deeper question though is, why? His injury, his preparation, his driving style, his health or simply the fact that Jonas is better on long climbs? It’s complicated

@MarkTomeh
@MarkTomeh Жыл бұрын
@@telmolicious still “slightly” bad days since he lost significant time. There you go I added in “slightly”. His past races or beating Wout in the TT doesn’t matter. If he wanted yellow it was a bad day. The time trial I can understand since Jonas was an alien there, but losing that much in a 20 km tt? I think it was bad because Tadej didn’t have the same energy as Jonas, especially since that tt suited Tadej more. The other ones, stages 5 and 17 were absolutely bad days when he lost big time. Look in a big fan of Tadej, so those days disappointed me. I hope in 2024 he makes the tdf his main priority and he comes back strong.
@telmolicious
@telmolicious Жыл бұрын
@@MarkTomeh Losing significant time and wanting yellow and not getting it aren’t evidence that u had a bad day. Had JonAs not been here Pogi woulda won by 1.13 to Wout on the tt. Would anyone have called it a bad day? No. They woulda called it a complete destruction of the field. Stage 5 he rode significantly faster up that climb than in 2020, Jonas was just an alien. On the TT Jonas was also an alien. Could he have ridden faster? We don’t know. Stage 17? Definitely a bad day since riders who aren’t usually able to hang beat him.

Its too bad that Pogacar is the "Golden Boy" of the tour. Jonas was not given the accolades he deserved. The panel on the Move, as awesome as they all are, are not fans of Jonas. Maybe he's a dick, I don't know, but 2 time Tour champion. Give the kid his due. He may be a 5 time tour champion. Pogacar won stage 20 but whatever. It meant nothing. I have always wondered why Froome rode in the Giro instead of conserving his energy for his fifth TDF win. I understand there are appearance fees, and winning all three grand tours is huge, but wouldn't winning his fifth TDF have been even huger? That would have tied him with Merkx and company for the most wins, and set him up to possibly break the record the next year. He came in third that year, and I have to believe the Giro took something out of him. I wish we could have seen this record tied during our era.

Wiped the road? Not exactly. Lance was closer to Contador than Tadej is to Jonas. Lance was 11 years older. We all know that Contador was not exactly a clean rider either.
