Butch Hartman's comments makes me think of an old Todd McFarlane interview done at the time when Image Comics were known only for their subpar superhero comics. Hilariously, McFarlane made the exact opposite argument, that he thought other comic book creators shouldn't criticize Image because they were in the same business. He would only take criticism from Gary Groth and other comic book journalists seriously.

And Felix never really had a defined character or plot, it was a creation of the 30's meant to show what animation could do. I've never seen this show. These are things I picked up based on this review. Butch Hartman's formula became stale by this point. Bunsen and Amanda are incomprehensible due to their silly accents. Also, Amanda's design looks terrible. The tired eyes and their red outline make her unpleasant to look at. I get that she's the bad guy, but she doesn't jive with everyone else in the show. Take Angelica from Rugrats. I know you don't like Klasky Csupo's artstyle, but at least she looks like she belongs in that show. Her design matches the artstyle of the other Rugrats. Amanda looks like she's from a completely different show.

The thing people often get wrong about Butch Hartman is that just because he pitched the idea for the show and had some involvement in its operations, does not mean that he was in complete control of the show. Danny Phantom was pitched by Hartman, but the actual series was greatly changed from his original concept. The show was written and produced by other people, but since it was based off a concept pitched by Hartman, he got his name splattered all over it, despite him having little to no involvement in the writing of each episode. Later on during the run of Danny Phantom, Butch was able to seize more control over the show, and that's when it tanked. Bunsen is a Beast and Tuff Puppy are perfect examples of what happens to a show when the reigns are handed over to Mr. Ego himself, Butch 'I created your childhood' Hartman.

It's always weird when a newer show has a major character sounds as unlistenable as a bad 80s cartoon mascot. Like it feels like we kinda learned that certain voice acting tropes sucked ass and stopped but then once in a while they come back. And annoying...can work sometimes, especially since that's subjective (see: Roiland, Justin). But this is just bad, someone should've pointed out this is bad before they completed an episode. And even if you tolerate it, its just clearly not good regardless.

I admit, when I saw the crossover with Fairly Odd-Parents, I thought it was taken outta context, that it'd be at least decent on its own merits. ...Never, in my years as an animation fan have I been so quickly proven wrong. This show was thankfully cancelled like, good god, this show was annoying as hell, especially Bunsen's Voice and the Theme Song. They even did a crossover with a show with Fairly Odd Parents, a show that already is suffering with it's abysmal episodes. Why Butch, WHY!?!

It's funny how bad shows nowadays are doing crossovers. This and FOP, Teen Titans Go and Thundercats Roar, Brickleberry and Paradise P.D. And probably more.

I liked that you brought up that bad voices are normally not the actors/actresses fault. Amanda was voiced by Kari Wahlgren, who is a VERY good voice actress. Admittedly, I didn't think Amanda's voice was that bad (Bunsen's voice on the other hand......), but Kari also voiced Chloe from Fairly OddParents Season 10 (who screamed way too much). I feel awful for Kari having to go through all this because she has done great voices in Loud House, DC Super Hero Girls 2019, DuckTales 2017, Amphibia, etc. As for Bunsen is a Beast itself , I agree; the show's basically Fairly OddParents Season 10.
