Quick question, what does Dead Dove means? Or what does it reference?
@meatypotion1121Күн бұрын
@@despinasgarden.4100 It means that the story would have something unapologetically messed up in it. It's a warning to read the tags as there are things in it that are very upsetting.
@orangeblaster500Күн бұрын
@@despinasgarden.4100 the reference is from arrested development. there’s a lunch bag in the fridge labeled dead dove: do not eat. One of the characters open it and goes “I don’t know what I was expecting.” The tag in AO3 is about how you can’t really complain about a story grossing you out because on AO3 everything comes with warnings and tags. If a story has the tag “cannibalistic incest,” is rated explicit, with the warning “graphic depiction of violence” and you still chose to read it, you lose your right to complain. I mean you didn’t have it in the first place because these are free stories you can easily filter out but still. Dead Dove is about “its written on the tin.” It’s an even more direct warning from dark fiction writers, where AO3 is one of their few safe havens remaining. Hope this helps.

In kraven’s last hunt there’s a moment when he’s on drugs and has a bad trip about spiders. More precisely a giant spider made of a bunch of regular spiders. Having not seen the movie yet I’d assume that scene is a reference to that. The only difference is that in the comic he isn’t afraid of spiders per se, it’s more of a representation of his insecurities, doubting how good of a hunter he really is if spider-man keeps beating him over and over again. That’s why you need spider-man to make a good character study of kraven.
@StarkMaximum2 күн бұрын
I highly doubt it's a specific reference to that. They just wanted a scene where he's scared of spiders so the audience would go "ooh there's spiders he's threatened by spiders that's because he's gonna fight SPIDER-MAAAAAN I GET IIIIIIT".

21:20 The comics make that work imo. In “Kraven’s Last Hunt” and in “Kraven’s first hunt” to a lesser extent, it’s less a physiological fear and more a trauma caused by his mother’s delusions. In the comics, the fear of spiders nicely mixes to Kraven’s grief over his crazy mother and to him feeling split in his very nature: savage animal X Civilized nobleman. After all this subtext it feels more organic that his disturbed mind would understand the spider as some sort of curse. Kinda like Bane and the bat but better thought out I think.

Something I'll give Wish, they did a really good job with animating the wizard. I put it on in the background while my 2 toddles were playing magnets, I'm not paying much attention to the movie. I look up a couple times and I'm thinking, that wizard has some real Chris Pine energy. Every time I tune in same thing, awesome Chris Pine energy. It was bothering me not knowing who it was and look it up and it's Chris Pine.

I think Chris Pine is the one good thing about WISH honestly

I was annoyed that the Rhino was in this movie because my head canon for the Sony Spider-man adjacent universe is that it’s all set in the ASM universe. At least if that was the case they could bring Garfield back and the movie would get a decent box office out of nostalgia and guilt. It is bonkers that they didn’t capitalize on all of the positive feedback from No Way Home. I have a separate pitch for Nando. The Into/Across/Beyond the Spider-verse films imply that every Marvel universe has a Spider-man in it. You should do a fan cast episode where you add a spider hero into every live action Marvel franchise with an era appropriate actor. Who would be in Ang Lee’s Hulk, the X-Men franchise, Ghost Rider, Fant4stic and the Corman Fantastic Four. Maybe it’s Kaine in Punisher: Warzone or Spiders-man for that Sci-fi Channel Manthing movie. Should many possibilities.

It's a Spider-Man comic-book movie. In this day and age, it is so easy to make a "good" superhero movie it's not even funny. A: A lot of nostalgia (costumes, music cues, one-liners etc.) B: Some fan-service cameos. C: Over the top action, and D. A story that just needs to be mediocre enough that it is not distracting from A, B, and C. How Sony managed to miss the mark six times is BEYOND me. And no, it's not because Spider-Man wasn't in it.
