49:46 well in venom comics there is a cop who got symbiod called Toxin, so he got it from either from carnage or venom, but cause he discovers symbiod's this way he sees them as monsters who need to be hunted down so he uses Toxin to hun other Symbiod's, that's what i heard

I agree, Venom was perfectly fine and at the VERY LEAST enjoyable which is most of what I ask in a movie. I do love when movies have more depth but as long as they are enjoyable and they give me something new... I am golden!

Cletus Kassidy aka Carnage is one of the most evil villains in Marvel Comics. He's a serial killer with a body count that rivals most dictators. I think experiencing ANYTHING independently and not being motivated or infected by hype or hate can give someone a different perspective. Because I heard this film was complete garbage, only for me to see it several months later and finding it totally fine. Yes there are some significant shortcomings if you're a massive fan of comic book Venom, but as it's own thing, I think it mostly worked.

My only problem with Carnage is that in the comics the Carnage symbiote and Cletus Kasady had a perfect bond far stronger than Venom and Eddie, in this movie they did the opposite. Still enjoyed the movie though.

Ok so Symbiote 101 Klyntar the planet they hail from is basically a big ball of Symbiotes Carnage was born on earth and bc of this has a slightly different set of abilities than Venom, there are a bunch all with different abilities some are as follows Toxin, Sleeper, Phage, Riot, Slasher, Agony, Grendel, Knull, Lasher, Krobba, Mania, Mayhem, Anti-Symbiote, Payback, Scorn, Scream, Venomsaurus Rex, Raze, Marcus, and ZZZXX.

The hate comes from comic book fans knowing how terrifying Venom was early on. Spider-Man had to go to the Fantastic Four to deal with him. Then along comes Carnage, who was even worse. Legit monsters hunting our beloved friendly neighborhood Spider-Man (and MJ and Aunt May). Instead we get these movies. The hate is quite justified.

I love this film. Me & my mother occasionally get together to watch them. The hate is overblown imo. The movie I hated was Multiverse of Madness. As a Doctor Strange film & sequel it sucks, and I feel cheated as a DS fan for that shit. Lmao The Venom films are fun, and I hear from comic fans that this adaptation is how he was in the 90's. So it is comic accurate. Lol

Comic book fans can be very passionate with regards to how their favorite characters are portrayed on the silver screen. With regards to how accurate their appearance is, how accurate their motivation is, how their powers are portrayed. Whether the actor meshes well with the role. When Michael Keaton first was chosen to play Batman there was a lot of fan pushback because they only saw Keaton in comedic roles and they were afraid they would not play Batman seriously. Now he is praised for his portrayal. So go figure.

Venom and Carnage were introduced to the world as extremely gory and violent characters whose comics are filled with hardcore brutality. The movie versions of Venom and Carnage are nothing like what made them popular characters in the first place. The "hate" (or more realistically, people just not enjoying it) stems from people who saw the extremely graphic stories they grew up with turned into a bromantic comedy with a pg 13 rating. That would be like making Freddy Krueger a family friendly character with a saturday morning cartoon and still having the nerve to wonder why people trash it.

@JizzFloat Nope. I know, because I've read comics during that time, with gaps in between. Guess what? There are MASSIVE swathes of time where Eddie ISN'T Venom. Guess what? Scorpion was Venom for quite a while. And his version of Venom was NOTHING like Eddie. Then Flash Thompson was Venom, and he was NOTHING like the other two. Etc, etc. Comic book fans get super attached to the version of the character they started with...which tends overwhelmingly to be the 90s version.
