"Do they really need all that firewood right now?" No, of course not, but it's a good thanks for Laura's hospitality. Remember, she's usually alone with two little kids and an unborn baby. That massive pile of nicely split firewood will take one of the more strenuous chores off her very full plate for a while. It's a kind thing for them to do.

At the end, when the new team members are grouping up and Cap goes "Avengers..." comic fans knew he was going to say "assemble" and groaned in the theaters when he got cut off. In the comics "Avengers assemble!" is Cap's signature rallying cry.

In the comics, the twins are called Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch. The problem is that the characters are also part of the X-Men franchise. At the time, Fox owned the movie rights to anything X-Men related. That is why in the MCU, they just use the names Pietro and Wanda.

@@TheOctobersReact Silver Surfer is a comic superhero, but he's not been in the MCU so far. As stated, Quick Silver is a X-Men character, but Fox owned the rights. Marvel was allowed to use him for only 1 movie. Fox was using Quick Silver( played by Evan Peters) in their movies at the time. Marvel has the rights back now tho.

The thing with Tony, he truly has everyone's best interests at heart. Over and over. He wants to protect every one, especially the team, at any cost. Even losing some freedoms. Whatever it takes for him.. For him to get any sleep at night and make sure everyone is safe. He's really a tragic figure in the MCU as much as all the others. All the money in the world can't buy him sleep. Only complete security. Vision is interesting because he's a creation of the Infinity Stone yes, but also the work of Tony, Bruce and Thor, making him a combination of greatness :)

Before this movie came out, it was "leaked" that a protagonist, likely an Avenger, was going to die. Several times throughout the movie, they really seem to hint that it's Barton that is going to die. Right at the moment where he is pinned down trying to rescue somebody and there really seems to be no escape for him, you're thinking, "This is it, this is the part when an Avenger dies." Then, out of nowhere, Pietro comes in and takes the hit and delivers that line, "You didn't see that coming." Well played, Marvel.

This movie got a lot of criticism when it was released, but I always liked it. I loved getting to know Clint better and his speech to Wanda is one of my favorite parts of the whole movie. Losing Pietro hit me hard. I saw the hints that we might lose Hawkeye and definitely didn't want him to die, but I certainly didn't expect to lose Quicksilver instead. I dont know if you noticed, but the shirt baby Nathaniel was wearing at the end showed his middle name as Pietro. After WandaVision came out, this movie had a different feel to it. People went back to it and appreciated it more. Even though I always liked it, this movie hits different in retrospect after you have more context for some of the characters. I wouldn’t be surprised if you come back to this again later. As always, I loved your reaction and I'm looking forward to the next MCU installment! I love reliving these movies with you guys.

In the comics, Wanda(aka Scarlet Witch) and Pietro(aka Quicksilver) Maximoff are the children of Magneto from the Xmen. However, since Fox owned the rights to the Xmen at the time their origin was changed to fit the narrative the MCU had already established. Another change from the comics is that Ultron was created by Hank Pym(the original Ant Man), but he hadn't been introduced in the MCU yet so Tony became the one who created Ultron.

It is so much fun watching these movies again with you guys. Just a quick correction, while Silver Surfer is also a Marvel character,,this was Quicksilver in the movie. A lot of fans have similar opinion of this movie. Captain America absolutely does not need to train to keep strong! The super serum continues to do its work regardless. As seen in Black Widow ..... (Cannot say more for spoilers) the reason he trains is because he wishes to keep in top form, the only way you stay a great fighter, stroke martial artist is to keep those skills honed.... The serum doesn't give him skills just the power to use them once he's learned them.

Just that fact alone has me rolling on the ground. 😂 Pietro was definitely gone to soon though, I’m disappointed that they didn’t utilize his character to his fullest potential but then we Wanda wouldn’t have her motivator to become the badass she is and rule the mcu as it’s Queen Witch in training. I think this movie is underrated, at least when it comes to how it's viewed by the fandom. While I much prefer the cold and calculative version of Ultron from the comics, this depiction of him is pretty interesting (and very quotable). Wanda Maximoff is a new addition and will become one of my favorites moving forward, Hulk is still a beast here and the hammer lifting scene is a treat to watch because we see the heroes just chilling. One of the more common complaints people have had towards this movie was Ultron not being a cold, calculating, and borderline emotionless (and rather generic) A.I. villain like in the comics. The thing is from his first appearance in the late 60's all the way to the 2000's he wasn't like that at all. He was alot like how this move depicts him... more a Frankenstein's monster emotionally lashing out at his creator and the world in general rather than say something like Skynet from the Terminator franchise. Personally I liked how Ultron was portrayed in the movie but part of that is because (like the people who made this movie) the comics I grew up with were the ones from the late 80's and 90's.

At the end when Ms. O was saying the movie felt incomplete is spot on. Obviously when the movie first came out there were no other movies to keep watching. But to me after the infinity saga was complete going back and rewatching this movie I realized it’s kinda a filler movie in the avengers movies. It doesn’t really directly tie in to the main storyline like the first one does(you will learn how the first movie directly ties into the 3rd and 4th later) but this movie did introduce new characters. Kinda showed us where the main storyline was heading and for the fans who were comic fans atomically knew where thanks was going after the end credits. This is a movie we’re you come back and appreciate it more after finishing the infinity saga. The next movie AntMan is very similar to guardians. New characters but also has incredible humor and is a fun movie to watch. AntMan was less of a risk than gotg because (funfact) AntMan is a OG Avenger from the 1963 comics so he was much more popular unlike the guardians which their first comic was in the early 200s.

In the comics the Pietro ( Wanda's brother ) is known as Quicksilver but in this movie, I don't think he is ever referred to as Quicksilver. Just Pietro, one of the twins, enhanced in the field. @@TheOctobersReact Ok good I didn't want to spoil anything and take the heat in the comments section. Also in the comics Tony Stark was a full-blown alcoholic and at times was too drunk to wear the suit which resulted in Rhodes wearing the suit while Stark was recovering. Also, Tony was much more of a womanizing playboy in the comics which led to him being shot and paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair by disturbed woman. Which resulted in him creating remote controlled armor like what you saw in IM 3 while he was going through rehab.

Veronica is a mobile satellite platform created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in the event the Hulk went rogue. It allows Tony to summon the Hulkbuster armor as well as other components he may need to combat the Hulk. They named it Veronica as an insider joke. Bruce was dating Elizabeth "Betty" Ross. Veronica and Betty were both interested in Archie Andrews from The comics. 😅 The Savage Hulk often times calls humans puny due to the size difference between them and the Hulk. His way of saying they are ants. 😅 The Hulkbuster armor is Mark 44. 😊 Ultron isn't interested in making a human body...he wants to upgrade himself to a vibranium body...the strongest metal on earth capable of absorbing vast amounts of kinetic energy. 😮 The stone inside Loki's sceptre is the Mind Stone. So far we have the Tesseract - The Space Stone, The Aether - The Reality Stone, The Orb - The Power Stone and now The Mind Stone. Two more to go. 😮 The Vision is played by actor Paul Bettany who is the voice of Jarvis. 😊 The Vision is the synthesis of a vibranium body plus the A.I. Jarvis plus the Mind Stone. He has the ability to change the density of his body so he can phase through matter like a ghost or be harder than diamond. 😊 Pietro Maximoff is known in the comics as Quicksilver due to his speed. The Silver Surfer is a cosmic herald of Galactus from the pages of the Fantastic Four. 😊

Nop Wanda technically didn't manipulate nor didn't show them the future, cuz for Tony's example: The Chitauri army from Avengers 1 is dead, so it doesn't make sense if this is a future Tony saw. What he saw was his failure, his fear of failing to save the earth aka Chitauri army going to earth. She can use her magic to see/unlock your worst fear. That's what we saw in each of the Avengers, what they fear the most. 27:37 Nop again, Tony does not have access to Vibranium. There is a reason they mentioned that it's the rearrest metal on earth. So only Caps shield is made of Vibranuim. Not saying there aren't more, they are more, that's why they mentioned Wakanda the place where the Claw guy stole Vibranuim from, but for sure Tony doesn't have access to it. 47:30 No, he is called QuickSilver, Silver Surfer is a whole different character.😂

I think this Avengers film was more philosophical and intelligent than the others and I liked that about it. I mean, I like the fun, action-packed ones too...but the change-up in the villain trope was good for the series, I think. Also, James Spader (the voice of Ultron), was just an immaculate choice for the character. I've always loved hi voice...there's something so hypnotizing about it. Even in other roles he plays, it's like laced with something so compelling. Like whatever he says, you would just have no choice but to do. Really captivating and so full of narrative.

Dang you're videos are blowing up so quickly, I was waiting for the upload. As some people have commented below, Jarvis just evolved into The Vision. And I don't know if you could tell, the voice actor for Jarvis (Paul Bettany) still does the voice for Vision and acting. Also the reason why Vision was able to lift the hammer, he was worthy because he was just born, he hadn't become jaded by the World yet. Another cool tid bit, Ultron was originally created by Hank Pym(Hank Pym is the original Ant-Man), but they changed his origin slightly for the movie version. Also he was made by adamantium which is on par with vibranium(Adamantium is the metal that runs through Wolverine)but since Marvel Studios didn't have the movie rights to the X-Men yet, they adjusted that also. But its a cool way to tie in Black Panther as a tease. And I know you got it wrong but kind of cool to hear you reference Silver Surfer since he's from the Fantastic Four comics. Again though, since Marvel didn't have X-Men rights, they couldn't call them Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch or mutants. As usual, all movies are subjective, but general consensus was this movie was a tad bit lower than the original Avengers and the previous phase 2 movies. I think that's a mixture that last few movies up'd the quality of story, action, and characters and it's just so hard to beat the original Avengers because of the build up and work the studio put in to get that point. And lastly this movie just had a lot to do with introducing characters, stories, backgrounds so a tad bit all over the place. I do think James Spader did an amazing job though voice acting and mo-capping Ultron, definitely gave him a lot of presence and even for a robot, character. Loved the reaction!

@TheOctobersReact yeah no problem. Yeah at that point Marvel Studios didn't have the movie rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four who were owned by Fox. And Sony has owned Spider-Man movie rights since late 90s. But in recent years, Disney bought out Fox so they can now use the X-Men and Fantastic Four freely and right before Captain America Civil War, Sony and Disney signed a contract to share rights for Spider-Man. And incase it's confusing, whenever people reference Marvel Studios, they were originally independent Studio right before Avengers 2012, but Disney approached them to offer more financing but now would be owned under Disney. Kevin Feige was a good friends with Bob Iger and made the deal. I think it worked fine for them. Anyways the only movie rights they are missing now is Spider-Man and his catalog of heroes and villains. Everything else is now owned properly and able to be freely used without worrying of being sued by a different studio. Lol😅

Hey! I am Icelandic, and I know quite a bit about Norse history and mythology. This might not be interesting at all to you, but you do not have to be worthy to lift Mjöllnir at all in reality. In real mythology, it is quite literally just very heavy. Anybody could theoretically lift it or use it, but only pórr is strong enough to use it. A few have moved or stolen it, but couldn't use it. Similarly, many people can lift a 100-pound sword in real life, but very few, if anybody, can actually use it. Another thing to note is that if anybody else could use it, they would not have the best accuracy or control and would basically be burnt to dust with how hot it gets due to its strength in hitting things. When he throws the hammer to crush the skulls of invading Jötunn, the hammer becomes red hot. Þórr needs special iron gloves, Járngreipr, to handle the red hot hammer without burning himself because the hammer was sabotaged during its creation, leading to its impractically shortened handle. Additionally, he also wears a special belt of power, Megingjörð, which greatly increases his already monstrous strength, to help him better use Mjöllnir. He has and can use it without the two other possessions, but they help him more accurately throw it and use it more efficiently. Together, his hammer, belt, and gloves make up his three most important and most prominent possessions. The only other god capable of using Mjöllnir is his son Magni, who is actually much stronger than his father, who was previously the steongest god. I don't believe it is ever mentioned how he can use it, meaning if he needs the gloves and belt or not, but I would imagine he does not need them. His father just used them for convenience and better control. If he did have them, he would be even more terrifying. Both his sons inherit his possessions after his death and aid the remaining gods in rebuilding a new world

I always took it that Vision is considered worthy because there's no reason, in that moment, for Mjolnir to think otherwise. He's a machine that was just created 10 minutes prior...there's no history there or thought processes to deem him unworthy. But yeah you get that unfinished feeling because this was a huge set up film...it creates future story points rather than wrapping them up. It's the weakest of the 4 Avengers films, but still really good and was important in the long run.

Yes the director addressed that point. He said that Vision in his newborn state hadn't done anything to be unworthy... Basically he was innocent, uncorrupted by the world. But even by the end of this movie, he wouldn't have been able to lift the hammer anymore. Of course it's only an issue because Vision is a sentient being. Machines operating on their own without a living consciousness directing them aren't affected by the hammer's enchantment and can lift it without any problem (althought hey can't gain Thor's power by doing so). Simple machines are incapable of being either worthy or unworthy, So if Thor put his hammer on an escalator or conveyor belt, it would be carried along. But a person trying to use machines to get past the enchantment is different, When Tony/Rhodey tried using powered armor and people at the New Mexico crater used vehicles for the express purpose of moving Mjolnir, it senses that intent, and checks to see if they're worthy before allowing itself to be moved. A twist on this is Tony and Cap's elevator example. If Thor left his hammer in an elevator, and people on a different floor pushed the call button (not even knowing the hammer was in there) the elevator would carry the hammer up, because their was no specific intent to move the hammer. But if someone walked into the elevator, saw Mjolnir on the floor and tried pushing the button to send it to a different floor, it wouldn't move (unless they were worthy) because the hammer senses their intent.
