Went to school with him from 6th grade all the way through high school. Listening to this man (boy at the time) singing Boyz II Men and Jodeci in the back of a school bus on the way to a football game and sounding same as he does now. Literal chills even as a 12-13 year old listening to him. And he’s just as genuine and down to earth as he comes off. Best dude ever.

He went to Vanderbilt university to study engineering and then dropped out to pursue music. He’s got it all, brains, athleticism, musically gifted. He has been blessed for sure.

🎸💯 Chris Stapleton's bluesy, gritty, soulful voice & crazy guitar skills do it for me‼🔥 He can't be classified as just a country singer. He's a legend IN OUR TIME‼Y'all should check out a Jompson Brothers video where they perform "Barely Alive". Chris used to be the front man for that Southern Rock group and KILLS that song‼My very favorite of his is "Cold" for which he won both CMA and Grammy awards‼☮ ❤ 🎶
@garymaidman6252 жыл бұрын
Jompson Brothers don't cover Barely Alive. As the lead singer and basically leader of the band it was their song first, in a similar way Midnight Train To Memphis was the Steeldrivers song first because he was the lead singer of them. If anything, Chris's live version is actually the cover of the Jompson Brothers version. An analogy is you have a Beatles song, While My Guitar Gently Weeps for instance. It was written by George Harrison, who was a member of the band and sung the song while a member of the band. It is however a Beatles song and not a cover version of a George Harrison song.
