Me neither. I love to catch, cook crab, but sadly we don’t get blue crab here in the UK. Although we do get the common brown crab which can grow too real monster sizes and have huge claws, especially the males. And spider crab which is so sweet and delicious they don’t really need any seasoning.

It depends how hot it is, we caught some in Biloxi and kept them in a cooler for 2 days and didn't lose a crab, that was last November during our Anniversary trip, we just covered them with a wet burlap bag. In the summer when it's very hot we sometimes put ice at the bottom of the cooler and the burlap bag on top of the ice then the crabs. You don't want to let them get to the ice water or else they'll drown.

i was shocked at how much crab prices, in northern va, went up over the years, so for a year i refused to buy them, but my lifelong addiction to blue crab finally took over and i started to buy them for as much as 120 to 150 a dozen (for extra large to jumbo) in gainesvillle va, then found a place that sends them on line, quite tasty but well over 100 a dozen also, then i found a place in oxon hill md, called Captain White’s who were selling live or freshly steamed jumbos for just 69 a dozen. it is a deal compared to the other choices.. but then they raised their price to 79 a dozen, still way better than the others, but they do slip in some medium and large, vs jumbo, but most were jumbo and quite good. but YOU get them for free, other than your time and the cost of some chicken. can you please adopt me and my hubby. we are 58 and 59 years old. lol.

We made it out ok, didn't lose power even with 80 mph wind just some flooding in the yard, didn't get to the house, we were lucky. Thanks for your prayers Alice.

The cribs I was telling you about in South Jersey by Moby dicks or Route 109 if you go in December they’re in the mud but they come out we put box traps out and they are just about twice as big as the biggest one that you got I never saw cribs like that in my wife to an old time it took me and I thought he was crazy to go out in the winter time I wish I had a picture of them crabs you would be amazed they called sea crabs they only come in in the wintertime buried them selves in the mud to lay their offspring and then I return to the deep ocean so I’m told

The small ones, the commercial guys keep them all, it's legal in Florida. In some areas it's about 75 percent females, in the St Johns you catch mostly males.
