I too like to watch this channel for the same reasons and l always listen to soothing and relaxing music (rain on a tin roof sounds great too.) every day to help me relax and unwind. I don't suffer from depression these days but l did have terrible bouts in my past. I eventually rid myself of the causes of my depression and anxiety attacks. It wasn't easy but the benefits were worth the effort. My life is less troublesome and complicated and life is so good now.

The bigfoot stuff was great. I don't go backpacking all that often, so I am not as in-tune with nature as a lot of folks are, but I always thought it was funny where I would be laying there in my tent at dawn, and I would hear noises and I am like - Bigfoot! I zip the window open a bit and it's just a deer. Or when I would be deer hunting and I would hear the most godawful crashing through the trees and a squirrel comes scampering by instead. 😆

I have a 25 year old Coleman propane lantern and also a propane camp stove that still work! When I was a kid, my dad had one of those gas lanterns that you had to pump it before for you lit it He also had a stove with the gas tank on the front you had to pump before lighting. I bet if those two things would still be working today, if they hadn't been sold at a yard sale.

I was a Scoutmaster in Texas and I bought our gear out of my own pocket. Price and support was great with Coleman. Kids don't usually take the best of care with their gear and I had never even heard of YKK zippers. High winds at week long camps in West Texas played heck with five new tents I bought and none were treated to protect the zippers from sand and grit, nearly all came home with torn zippers because they had to force the zippers open. Coleman replaced all five tents. Other gear same story

I 100% agree with you. You really can’t beat a tarp set up. My fiancé and I have one that goes along the back of a vehicle. We used it on the back of her old grand Cherokee, but we’ve used it with her new or Subaru cross track, and it was just as great. I really love the idea of setting up a tent underneath a tarp if you’re gonna be there for more than one day. But for our trip from San Diego, up to Oregon and back, the tarp at various parts of the car, when we decided to just sleep in it a couple times was perfect. Couldn’t have been more happy.
@origamiXcore
@origamiXcore Жыл бұрын
I guess it’s not necessarily exactly true, I am in the market for a newer tarp only because this one is designed in a way that isn’t super universally adaptive. Meaning that it has a much narrower side to it that attaches to the car but doesn’t have a lot of overhang. Space, which has required me to have to be a little more creative when there’s been bad weather, but it’s still a great quality tarp, and is some thing that I am really looking forward to doing more with.

You mentioned knots! I frequently use the taut-line knot for tying out guy line's for tents and tarps to trees when using the factory adjuster is difficult or not possible. Square knot is very handy in a lot of situations. Bowline knot is also very useful when you don't want it to slip or for tying on guyline to a tent. Clove hitch works great around trees when you just need a tie off point. Now if I'm creating stands or chairs or tables from sticks, the various types of lashings come in handy but I don't use them much anymore because when I'm car camping I usually bring aroll up or collapsable table and chairs.

I have two gas one stoves I take camping with me and I use a big perculator. Straight black coffee. Lol. My cousin is big on creamers and such and he uses the hazlenut creamer all the time. Never could stomach the sweetness of them. But all in all, I have been watching your videos for a few years now and am a big fan of your truck camping. Luke, I see other people would love you to make a video of just rain on a tent. I love the sound. I sleep to it every night. 8 hours of it is just right. I really hope you sees our request. I love the sound of heavy rain on this tarp, too. 29:48 Very relaxing. Please let us know what you think?? Thank you so much. I love your channel. I love when you and your wife go on the awesome trips together. You go places I only dream of going. Thank you for taking me along. I really enjoy myself, a lot.🙏🙋🏻‍♀️.

When people talk about habits, as though my coffee love is a bad one; I always tell them they can pry it from my cold, dead hands.😂 ☕️❤☕️❤️

I bought a Coleman tent and it was missing the stakes I notified Coleman and they sent me a brand new tent. Customer service is top notch.

I feel like the Big Foot adventure was a fun reminder of why we go out into the woods...to see what's out there. The next adventure should be to find that bloody bear and bill him for the lawnmower.

I’m the complete opposite person than you lol but I watch all your content. I don’t go camping but one day I might need to know how to survive off the land. Great content‼️💯

What you said about tents goes for most other outdoor products, too. Pay a little for so-so quality or pay significantly more for "premium" items. I was tired of bags/rucks falling apart so I tried Tactical Tailor and the quality is substantially higher and they're made up in Tacoma, Wash. After many years I had a zipper come apart and they are replacing it under their lifetime warranty.

Luke, For any leaks plastic or metal used tubes of JB Weld. Sets up hard and you can drill it or grind it if needed. Will stop gas leaks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s a nice road. Well maintained. As far as ticks go, I had a tree kick back on me one winter. Gave me a bad scrape on my side. From that I got Rocky Mountain spotted fever. The micro bacteria was tick borne but was on the tree bark. I never found a tick on me. 8 days in hospital. Ticks are dangerous year round.
