Hi, long shot question as I know I'm really late to the video. Any suggestions on a colour match for karandras green? For fixing mistakes where it's pooled too much, or I've got back on the wrong bit etc. Tried warp lightning but it's too dark and mixing wasn't very successful.
@ThePaintingCoach Жыл бұрын
Depending on how big the section is, I'd be tempted to re-paint the plate with corax white, cover it in Karandras Green again, and then add a thinned coat of warp lighning on the lower half of the plate or the part that faces down

I don't, I'm afraid - but it's pretty simple - spray it black and then spray white from directly above the mini - if you need more sprsy the mini with the can at a 45 degree angle ↙️

So the priming technique which 2 primers should I buy and is there a video on how to do the priming technique
@ThePaintingCoach4 ай бұрын
I haven't got one but if you search for 'zenithal priming ' you will see plenty of results Any black and white primer are fine - the GW ones are good but a little pricey so there may be an alternative local to you such as army painter. If you are in the UK, colour forge is a good option

Asking as a begginner: isnt it easy to paint each part individually before assembling it? It seems easier to paint each detail that way. However, I still didnt paint a single mini, so I truly dont know. Is it a case where you do what you prefer or is it actually more effective to assembly it first and then paint?

So a quick question in relation to colour lore. Time was an SM Chapter had 10 companies each identified by the colour on the rim of their shoulder pads. The elite company was always the first company and had the white accent and usually came equipped with Tactical Dreadnaught Armour. So has the lore changed and do the Primaris Marines operate in companies? How do they identify each company if they do?
@ThePaintingCoach2 ай бұрын
My understanding is that they identify the same way - if codex compliant. Non codex compliant chapters might use different ways - the SM codex has a lot of info on this is think

@ThePaintingCoach Жыл бұрын
I'm using Citadel - Chaos Black and White Scar. I always make sure to warm the cans slightly in warm water, shake for at least 2 mins, and then make my first spray off the mini into thin air - this clears any dust or dry paint in the nozzle. Hope that helps!

@ThePaintingCoach Жыл бұрын
Without seeing it, it might be difficult to tell! But some possibilities: 1. Make sure the paint is really well mixed - no milky residue at the bottom. 2. Focus on one area at a time - i.e. paint one whole leg, then the other. 3. Make sure you use a decent size brush and have a good amount of paint on it - you can then move it around and manipulate it before it dries, and take off some of the worst pools.

@TaxemicFanatic Жыл бұрын
@@ThePaintingCoachany tips on approaching larger units with this technique but without an airbrush?
@ThePaintingCoach Жыл бұрын
It may be awkward - I would prime some cardboard and try it on there first that way you know how it will settle, and what effect your manipulating it with a brush will have. I'd also consider thinning it 1:1 with medium and using two coats - again test it Otherwise you are looking at doing a panel at a time and keeping an eye that it doesn't pool too badly. I'd also maybe try a black/grey/ white approach to smooth the unser painting transition
