A-ha broke the world record for concert attendance for their shows in Brazil. 198,000 at one gig which entered the Guinness World Records. Morten Harket also currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest note (Summer Moved On)...

When U2 played Beautiful Day in Oslo (Norway), they actually incorporated the chorus from The Sun Always Shines On TV in the performance, knowing perfectly well where they subconsciously lifted the melody from!

Hello from Scotland in the UK. The sun always shines on tv is another one of the many songs i love from A-HA. I have been an A-HA fan for 39 years since the take on me days in 1985. I was 16 then and i’m 54 now. A-HA produced the soundtrack to my life and they still do. The are a very unappreciated and underrated band nowadays but were huge globally except for the USA, they only know take on me. A-HA are a brilliant live band too. Please continue to dive deeper into the rabbit hole that is A-HA’s back catalogue of music you won’t regret it. Thanks for the reaction. I’ve subbed to you because of the A-HA reactions so keep them coming please. Take care 😘🏴 ❤️🇳🇴❤️A-HA FOREVER❤️🇳🇴❤️

The sun Always shines on tv was released 1985, U2 released A Beautiful Day much later (2000s) and as far as I can remember, Bono said in an interview that he had somehow a-ha's The Sun Always Shines On Tv, and especially the part/riff "Touch me" in mind as they compound A Beautiful Day

The song was released on the band's first album in 1985, the same album that contains the mega-hit "Take on me", which soon reached 2 billion views on YT, which is very unusual for 80s music. This video is from a compilation video released in 1993, which contains clips from the band's 1991 South American tour, when they set a world record with 198,000 paying audiences at Rock in Rio, a record that stood for 26 years. You can see from Morten's outfit that they change during the video. You're not the first to point out that he looks like Patrick Swayze. They have also met once when Patrick came up to Morten, greeted him and said that they could have been brothers. Thanks for the reaction! Kari

Live In South America is a very popular era for a-ha fans. This era was more like a raw, rock sound and it was so different to the synth we were used to. The sounds were less pop charts and more like a touring band, just their instruments and the songs they have written.

I think you need to dig a bit more into their discography.... it is honestly worth it! This is MUCH older than Beautiful Day. Morten and Patrick do have some similarities, but Morten in his day was the more beautiful man imho! Nice to see another a-ha reaction so soon 😉. 🌹🕊

@@NordicReactionsthe audio is from one performance, but the video is from many concerts, as you see morten’s clothes change throughout the video. Also this South America tour was just 25 shows, with a combined attendance of over 3 million people

I’ve been an a-ha fan since the very beginning, I was 12, I’m now 51. You are about to go on an amazing musical journey with a-ha, morten for me is one of the best vocalists in music ever. 5 octave range, though he said he never counted. His lower register is as impressive as his falsetto. Though he is most known for his higher range. Their first 3 albums are mainly synth based, but they have done many different styles. Their fourth album memorial beach is very much were the U2 sound comes in. But they have a great mixture of different sounds. Their unplugged album is also amazing. Including the version of take on me which appeared in the movie deadpool 2 .

This song has got 15 years on U2's 'Beautiful Day'. There's no question who ripped off who. In all fairness, there's only so many notes and so many chord progressions so they likely didn't even know they were close to something already done..

Morten's voice far surpasses Bono's from U2. I like Bono too, but this man is amazing and is WAY better looking than Patrick Swayze.
