As an Australian I can't apologise enough for what the Murdoch's have done to America. I actually went to college in America on a sports scholarship and did aerospace engineering. I love the place and love the people. I hate the horrible divisions that have been fomented in American politics and that an Australian born person has been in the middle of it. A bunch of my college friends were pre-law and they gave me an abnormal education in the US Constitution and over time I learned to appreciate it. These days I genuinely believe its one of the greatest achievements in human history on the simple basis that it not only enshrined basic personal rights for all of its citizens but those rights had an enormous affect on the rest of the world. I don't think many Americans realise just how influential the Bill of Rights has been in World affairs. However the US Constitution is not perfect and it needs to be cared for and respected and maintained because it does have one great weakness. *Its open to abuse by narcissistic people who will take advantage of the PERSONAL freedoms enshrined in the Bill of Rights and use those freedoms to deny other people of their freedoms.* I often joke that there are certain people who's view of liberty is to strip other people of their liberty. *One of those people is Rupert Murdoch.* The fact that Rupert Murdoch, family & friends through Fox believe they can arbitrate between who is and who is NOT a patriot is utterly disgusting. I heard Scott mention recently _"that people are entitled to their own opinions but they are NOT entitled to their own facts."_ *Nobody else has hurt that concept across the developed world more than Rupert Murdoch.* In Rupert's mind people are NOT entitled to facts or accurate information. In Rupert's mind people are entitled to agree with his opinions and be labelled a patriot or NOT agree with his opinions and be labelled UN-patriotic. *This is a concept that has ruined empires.*

She says plainly she is lucky, and she's only upset that a human being was murdered in cold blood, and it might not be right that other CEOs maybe shouldn't be targeted for murder also. Is it such a messed up situation with insurance that we should be calling for the murdering of other human beings? I don't know the answer, but I know it's not that. They suck big time, they're awful, but it's the system that is broken. We can't forget a human being was shot dead point blank. We also can't forget the millions that die because insurance won't cover their treatments. Two things can be true at the same time. We don't need to lose our humanity in the process, just because we feel they are missing humanity. Let's be honest with ourselves here, people die in terrible ways everyday, some are good people some are bad people. Most are a mix of the two. The best part about being dead (I assume) is that there's no more suffering for the dead. You can even hear it out of Scott + Jessica's own mouths... Scott raced back from London where he was duck hunting with his venture capitalist buddy and Jessica threw a multi-thousand dollar birthday party for a 3 year old - that's not just privilege that's privilege and security. If you think what just happened is everyone losing their humanity, you're not living in reality. The reaction to the situation is actually more like humanity than the people who are pretending to care about it. Yeah sure if you knew the guy or if you think what would happen if it was your relative/friend/whatever, people would be singing a different tune - but it is delusional thinking that a world with a false meritocracy and a system that's designed to bring more success to the successful and the inverse to the inverse, that anyone besides his family and friends cared.

I usually agree with Scott most of the time, but “Israel is kicking ass” and “working to stabilize the region in the medium to long term” is a really bizarre take. Feels like the exact opposite is happening, especially in Gaza. Having next to no regard for civilian casualties (44,000 and counting) and deliberately blocking aid trucks isn’t exactly “kicking ass”. He’s said in other talks that he has family in Israel, and it shows. They’re both on point about Ukraine, though. I wish more people understood how good of a deal our support has been. It’s what’s made the risk of a larger conflict with NATO far lower, despite all of the fearmongering about WW3 that’s out there. Every single supposed red line Moscow has had so far has been a bluff. And they deserve to be called out on it. And while all that’s been happening, it’s convinced Europe it’s time to re-arm. Look at the difference in defense spending by country now vs. 4 years ago. That was one of Trump’s chief complaints about NATO in the first place. It’s the best case scenario for a full-scale invasion on NATO’s doorstep.

I got as far as the comments from Jessica about how Americans are frustrated we're sending money to these other countries instead of spending money here, but the thing is, we wouldn't have spent any of that money on repairing the ills of the citizens of the United States. The same people who are complaining about sending money away would take that money and not spend it or find a way to funnel it into the pockets of rich people. It's not the money. It's the choices. And Republicans don't care about Americans any more than they care about Ukrainians. They only care about their wealthy donors.

Congress just approved the FY 2025 military budget to the tune of 833.05 billion dollars. Doesn't look like the DOGE wizards are going to take a look at this department. They did suggest cutting veteran's benefits though, so that's a big thank you to their service.

I don't think people are uncaring about the CEO's death. Problem is that most who are finding something other than dread over all of this are the ones already living in dread under the shadow of either not having any kind of coverage or are up to their eyeballs in debt from medical bills.

Sorry, I can't listen to anything someone says after they seriously say they went to a "patriot awards" event where Conold was given an award for "being an everyday hero". That is honestly repulsive. Her credibility from that point on went straight into the trash can.

It’s more than Robinson who was jailed for contempt of court. Grandmothers are in jail for spicy Facebook posts. The IK jails are full of political prisoners.

Love these two but i object to Scott's characterization that Israel has been "doing our duty work". Sheesh. That's not our work, leave us out of it. I believe that US troops enabled the evacuation of innocents from Fallujah , then went door to door in Fallujah to free the city from terrorists. Not Israel's approach to Gaza.

I agree with many things you both say, but some things are just blatantly wrong or you can't see outside your bubble. I would recommend if you are going to keep the name "Raging Moderates" You have someone from the right that can actually give you the other side of a conversation, instead of sounding like you are bad faith on the talking points. I would recommend someone like Mike Benz when you talk about wars or foreign policy, and someone like Dave Smith or Clint Russell to talk about internal issues (both are libertarians who have broken down and understand the MAGA perspective internally).

You complain that Raging Moderates isn’t getting enough subscribers, I search for the Bulwark episode on KZbin and I see nothing (it’s out on other sources) and Raging Moderates doesn’t seem to have its own KZbin channel it’s just a playlist. Are you sure you’ve set up Raging Moderates correctly here?

The UK has an extradition treaty with the US, so a US tech billionaire moving to the US will not be safe in London if they move there. They need to go to Madagascar or Ghana to get safe.

When a president gives a "Threat Level 1" or higher... government is no longer government. Test yourself: Watch your daughter or wife go through a forced birth per the current "government." How's that work for You? (not a question)

Hearing Scott say Israel has defanged Hezbollah "with the most precise anti-terrorist action in history" kinda took my breath away. Have ya seen the numbers of civilian casualties in Gaza, Scottie? Have you heard about the intentional starvation?
@derosa19897 күн бұрын
The "precision" comment was talking about the pagers. but the reality is, the bar for "most precise" urban warfare is very low. The historical urban conflict standard was killing more civilians than combatants.
