This could be the wife of a guy I know. He is out of control with motorcycles ATVs trucks trailers tires rims etc. early 30s and still hasn't adjusted to fatherhood and mortgage, thinks he's entitled to whatever he wants the minute he wants it. Constantly blows the budget and spends waaay too much as a ratio/percentage of the overall income. Makes big purchases in secret then springs em on his wife "easier to ask forgiveness than permission ha ha ha". His wife is losing respect for him but he's oblivious. Very sad to observe.

I don't understand why guys like him even get married? Stay a bachelor and live that life if that's what he wants----freedom, fun and carefree is fine if you are single. But when you ask someone to be your life partner and then bring innocent little human beings into the situation, you have now taken on a huge responsibility. The kids didn't ask to be born; the parents brought them into this world and are now obligated to provide for them. He's obligated to live within his means and put his kids' needs first, her job is to help him out and leave the situation if he refuses to change. It pisses me off when I see parents are driving around in a Mercedes wearing designer clothes and the kids have rags on and their teeth are rotting out of their heads 😡

My Ex husband was more comfortable being in debt than having extra money in the bank! It was so frustrating being married to him!
@4knewt5056 жыл бұрын
I tried explaining that to my husband, many times. I cried, I was nice about it, I was angry, many different ways. People always made me feel like I was mean to him. I even drew up a financial agreement. Worthless. If I complain, I'm the person who doesn't forgive, who has no faith, and should let things go. And that's advice from family, friends, and Christians. I never saw the manipulation for what it was until now when I'm numb and in self-perseverance. There is always an excuse and double, if not triple the secrets. I know it sounds weak, but I feel abused and paralyzed. Respect for him gone. But guess, he's a "good man" ???? we are not mature in our finances and i have a son graduating. I listen to Dave Ramsey to make myself remember I'm not crazy. Am I an enabler, no. I'm tired. I don't have any more conversations left to try. I was stronger than this. I wasn't created to be like this.

Ive been in your shoes-and I'm a believer who had a life changing encounter with God as an adult. It took me about 10 yrars before I was ready to do this myself, but u need to focus on who is staring back at you from the mirror and ask God to show you what got you to this point in your life. Dont get me wrong, facing myself and looking at my role in my (failed) relationships, wrong turns I've taken, and the consequences paid was the hardest thing I ever did. People will not understand-trust me on this aspect. Trust God-if you go wiith him on this journey he'll be with u you every step of the way. I got throught it (for awhile I wasnt sure I would) but l am stronger, I know who I can trust and rely on, and yes, i have acquired a very accurate BS detector and the spiritual weapons to fight back. Btw, u are right, u were not created to be the way u are now. Hang in there.

I was just like this knucklehead for many many years. And I was broke because of it. Once I got fed up with being broke, and then so stressed because of the mountain of debt I had created in my efforts to enjoy life and to give me distractions from the pressures of work. So I was stressed about money, and would then buy something on credit to distract me from the stress, but would then be more stressed about the added debt. What a crazy vicious cycle. Now....debt free but the house. Also self employed now and making more than I ever did working for others. Finally, at age 46, we have contentment. We gave up a lot of “stuff”, but it was so worth it. We dont drive high dollar SUVs or Sports Cars now....and we dont have a garage full of motorcycles, dirt bikes, or quads.
