I remember this episode seriously pissed me off because the mom was such a massive hypocrite. She ridiculed and berated her daughter for being "pregnant" and "lying" when she wasn't. Despite the fact that the mother was drugging her daughter and lying to her the entire time without her knowledge by claiming the diazepam was a vitamin pill

Mother was grieving her inability to do a good parenting. She did not know how to deal with unusual moodiness of her child. It was overwhelming for her. Denial was the first stage of grief. As you could see later: it was also overwhelming for whole medical team. They were puzzled by this unusual case. Just my 5 cents.

If ur daughter who claims to be a virgin gets pregnant - The first guess - Most sensible assumption is that she lied about not having boyfriend... And if she is convincing enough - next thought would be dr*g r*pe... A Rare medical condition like Multiple personality disorder wouldn't even be the top 3 guess...

They cut this important part out but Iris' multiple personalities or DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) are a way of coping from something traumatic such as watching her dad die. The personalities usually come out when that person experiences fear, anxiety, and danger and use that personality to defend themselves or relieve the stress. As a psych major, I love watching these shows! They're not always accurate of course but still very entertaining to watch.

as a psyche major you would know that a large portion of the medical community feels that DID should be removed from the DSM5, as it is not likely a real disease, and most "cases" are typically caused by another alternate underlying cause such ad schizophrenia, the patients have been convinced by therapists they have it, or they are simply making it up.

Omg now I recognise the actress who played Iris. She played Ethel on Shameless US. The young teen who had been part of a cult and she was the youngest wife of an old guy. She was a foster kid at V's and Kevin's house and then she said got her baby back from the cult as well. She dressed like it was still the 1800s, Amish style

the mom was not sorry for lying and medicating her daughter against her will, she's sorry she got caught. moral principles just don't magically appear out of nowhere. when someone is suddenly overwhelmed by the guilt of his action upon being caught, despite doing the deed without remorse before, that person is simply using the display of guilt as an appropriate social reaction. if the mother simply had a momentary lapse in judgment and drugged her kid without thinking enough about it at the time, she would have realized and stopped. the fact that she didn't stop shows that she sees nothing inherently wrong in medicating someone without his consent. she won't understand until she suffer that behavior from someone else.

Didn't the mother say "I can't believe how stupid I was", or something along those lines? I think she does to some extent take responsibility for more than just the outcome of her actions.

Highly unethical and highly illegal, to be sure. House justifies this by saying everyone lies and they need to break in before the patient or family can dispose of relevant evidence.

It's the one part of the show you just learn to suspend your disbelief with. It's easier to justify when you remember House is essentially just Sherlock Holmes but in a hospital. One thing Sherlock always did was analyze the crime scenes, but the homes too if necessary, which is a lot easier to do when you work with the police lol.

@@pidza_hub7532 No, sorry. They judge them for _what they're saying._ All the time. They're constantly interfering, pushing, _nudhjing._ Making moral judgments right to their faces, which is highly unethical. Yeah, it's a TV series so it has to be dramatic, but FFS, none of that would be tolerated if they were real doctors. It's not their place to tell people how to live their lives, or even to voice an opinion about it. So no, it's not a matter of "you didn't tell me the truth, you bad boy," it's a matter of "you shouldn't be doing [fill in the blank] with your life, how can you be so [fill in the blank]." Mind your business, Mr. Stethoscope, you're here to heal; the rest is none of your business.

The shows went for 60 minutes but they had to condense them to under 10 minutes by taking out unnecessary and repetitive content because the old TVs couldn’t hold anything over 10 minutes. The mondo Houser shows are very short always less than 10 minutes because of the primitive mondo TVs they had back then. The old old old TVs could not hold more than 10 minutes of show even without nipnagel or shnibuts rhetoric as they used CRT Catholic Ray Tubs technology Motorola involvement and non Dylan Mulvaney CLT or Claw Technology. No harm no fowl. Crackhead Barney oversees the southerly wing of the flies we fight as fly fighters. The fly fighters tried Dylan Mulvaney to shorten the shows advertising and tried to produce a non racist TV set with Motorola involvement with flypaper control and Dylan Mulvaney CEO. The historically correct Crackhead Barney and a prominent associate of Dylan Mulvaney declined comment at that time but was very involved. Transgander influencer Dylan Mulvaney abandoned by Bud Lights and faced too much bullying and transphobia. Crackhead Barney is her team member in Chicago. The proof is in the pudding. It’s all part of the non racist Al Qawama discovering process

However I still can't loose those false rumors that started when I was living in France in a motor pool. If I was totally insane why did they let me work on fixing the cars and trucks? You should have seen me fixing the trucks when I was supposedly totally insane. I did a great job and was the fastest by far especially replacing a clutch. These guys used to ride the clutch and burn it out and didn't double clutch the right way and tried to go fast in creeper gear. I did everything at lightning speed including transmissions. I was insane but I'm better now but it made me slower. Now I'm good at TVs.

@rickrick5041 Uh, as a very good reader of SCHOPENHAUER*, Jung, Musashi, and Camus, your comment literally has nothing to do with anything. It sounds like a mental illness you've got wants to rant about a transgender actor and CRT televisions. Television programming minus advertisements for the show House M.D are 45 minutes long because in the 2010 era 15 minutes were allotted for advertising. If you watch this on current platforms with house each episode is about 44 minutes. It has nothing to do with the technology used in televisions themselves.
