Hi,Nanny! Here is a little hint about making an adjustable bed I used to clean houses before I retired in 2016. I had a man who was in a wheelchair, and he needed me to make his electric bed . If you make both ends of the bed go all the way up,then put your sheets on to all 4 ends, then make both ends go down. As long as you get all four corners securely over the mattress, when you put the ends down, you'll have a nice snug fit....or you can ask the granddaughters ! Love, Faith Falcone

Oh, Nanny - you’re wearing me out watching you put clean sheets on your bed! I have only queens in two of my bedrooms and it’s taxing for me to make those beds without help. I keep having to go from one side after a minute or so, and then go to the other side, putting on half of the fitted sheet and then going to the other side to do the same thing. You know the drill but you make it look like fun!!! You are such a delight and I hope Moose continues to heal‼️‼️‼️

P. S. I LOVE the quilt you have hanging on the wall as a backdrop to your brass headboard‼️ What a genius decorating idea‼️‼️‼️. You’ve got cozy touches all over your cottage! Will you come decorate my home? I have several antiques, heirloom quilts and decorative antique items like brass candlesticks, oil lanterns, feed scoops, a wooden washing machine that still has all of its working heavy metal parts, etc. I just don’t have decorating ideas like you‼️

Nanny, I too have a specific”sheets day!”, and I love getting into a clean, made bed. I always think of my dads best friend, truly a 2nd father to me. When his wife passed away, I called him just to catch up,. Asking how he was getting along, he said , “ I miss her terribly but I am doing ok, and keeping up with things. But how the hell do you fold a fitted sheet?!” Miss him and my dad always. Traveling and vacations are wonderful adventures, but I definitely find warmth and comfort in being home. Much love to you and Moose. Be well, be happy💕🌹

Your causing more work for yourself with the morning glory vine. Don’t throw it over the fence -this will re- root and come back… what you pull, throw it in the trash - spraying carefully with a weed killer is your best option ; however, what you remove - throw it in the trash! You will notice the difference . Your garden is lovely🌺

Hi Nanny, I absolutely loved this video! And I shared it on my Community Page. You really spoke to my heart. Both my parents were/are super-agers. And I saw with all the family vacations that we went on that as my parents aged, they really enjoyed just resting and relaxing and enjoying nature and the beautiful scenery. My dad has since passed away but my mom is 98 and still going strong! However, she loves family outings that simply involve resting and relaxing - and I am right there with her! Thank you for all you do and share. I don't always get to comment but please know that you and Moose are such a bright spot in my day! Love and God Bless, Mary

Thank you so very much, Sweet Mary, for the shoutout…once again…many of your ladies came to visit and mentioned you…as they did before. I so very much appreciate your lovely comments and referrals to my words of aging and enjoying the more restful times these days. I read your comments in your commentary and enjoyed the story of your parents similar experiences on family vacations…it’s an interesting stage of life as “super-agers” these days…I find myself getting so much more joy from the little simple moments each day. I was on your site just 2 days ago rewatching your video with your darling son, Ben. One of our young greatgrands has been recently diagnosed with dyslexia . I remembered the video and I was so impressed with Ben and his advice and self-confidence ….and I wanted to know more. Will there be another wonderful video with Ben? Thank you again, Mary…My love and blessings to you, too.🙏❤️

Making a king size bed can be a chore. I don't have a split mattress, but I do have the adjustable base which makes the making a bit easier, not much. Since hubby is no longer here, I am going to buy a smaller bed only problem is I just bought the base a year ago and a smaller mattress won't go on it. I'm trying to give it away but so far no one is interested. It's nice having coffee with you this morning. See ya next time, enjoy your weekend.

Good to see you settling back into cottage life. We think alike, "I m going to make fluffy scrambled eggs", "No, on second thought, I'm going to go to Del Taco for my favorite drive thru breakfast and special coffee". Good to hear the stray cat update on Ghost and Shamu. I'm sure that Shamu is fine with how things are, but should enjoy the break cuz I predict that Ghost will be back. It might be a couple of weeks or a month. He may be "punishing" you for going on vacation and "abandoning" him. One of my stray cats is cuddled up next to me and he's one that used to be gone for a while and then reappear. Anyway, I want to say that your gardens look beautiful and lush. I especially love the roses. I'm with you on the sheet changing. It's a work out for me too. I often take a nap after I'm done with. On the spoon caper, I still think that you should consider getting a countertop portable dishwasher. My friend had one when she lived in an apartment and she liked it. You could try one and let us know if you like it. None of my business though. If you and Moose get overheated this summer, you could get a couple of those large plastic containers, fill with some coolish or tepid water and stick your feet in for twenty minutes. Could do outside on your patio. I got this idea from my sister's doctor years ago. He said that it would cool your whole body down. It always seemed to work. There's my tip for today. Thank you for the great video. You've inspired me to get back out there and fish planting some more flowers. Take care and see you in the next video. MJ♥️🇺🇸🌹🐈‍⬛🌮☕🛏️🐈🐾🥄

I agree with you, MJ…I think Ghost might be back…the dish detail is fine…Moosie needs the occasional “workout” and this old cottage can’t take any more electric additions…we’re bringing in our 2 portable air conditioner units soon and that’s enough! Thanks for sharing…❤️

@@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose I thought that maybe had to do with electrical grid of cottage, but wasn't sure. Doing dishes by hand is one of the trade offs of living in the authentic adobe cottage, which is a lovely place to live. Is worth doing a few dishes by hand. Not a big deal. I wind up washing the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher anyway. Also, you are helping the environment too.🙂🌎🥄

Here's a trick to help you with your fitted sheets. Raise both the foot and the head of the mattress at the same time. Take each corner of the fitted sheet on all four corners of your mattress. Flatten the mattress and watch your fitted sheet stretch out to perfectly cover your mattress. We have a solid latex mattress and it weighs 200 pounds. You cannot lift it. The mattress salesman shared this trade secret with us when we purchased our mattress. Hope this helps. If you use one King flat sheet, do the same by just raising the bottom of the mattress. You might need a second person to help hold the flat sheet tucked under the mattress on one side while you hold it tucked under the mattress on the other side while flattening the mattress down and into place. This works like a charm every time!

hello dear Nanny.....I had to laugh at your bed making adventure! It sure was a challenge! You are so funny and persistent and get things done! Also your time in the garden was inspirational.....We just returned from a short three-day trip to Ocean city< New Jersey (your home state) and all the unpacking and doing laundry upon return was exhausting! attending to my garden and weeding was a challenge Yes, years ago it wasn't such a challenge... or big deal but age has its limits and we just do things a little differently Glad you got your Iced coffee 'fix' and egg and cheese breakfast. Years ago we took lengthy trips and travels, but as time goes by I am very content to just take day trips, go out for a favorite dinner, attend to my flower garden or go to one of our lovely local parks or a summer concert. And my special treat on a hot summer day is a lime ice pop on my patio while I sit in my rocking chair and plan my next garden adventure. Hugs from a nana in Pa. aka...Nana Green Fingers...... PS: since watching your wonderful videos on makeup and skin care....I am learning to apply make up and YES, I feel great when I do....nothing too drastic or 'gaudy'....just a few basics....and of course Nevia every night! I'm not trying to look like a 'movie star' or over made up clown, but just the few basics that really make a difference and help me feel good....Look good....feel good!

But I do think ,on certain occasions, makeup can make a BIG difference in how you look and feel….and occasionally I will do a little demo because many ladies like it …but I agree…a lot of stuff is happening in our lives as we get older and it’s good to talk about these challenges….. Perfect hair, perfect makeup and perfect outfit. You look lovely, as usual. My favorite kind of video, a day in the life of. Little of this, little of that, normal life, so refreshing. Had to laugh out loud when I saw you with your iced coffee. It’s the little things that give us so much pleasure. Wanted to be right there in the car with you, laughing and enjoying the day right along with you. Even if it is gray and gloomy, you’re always finding ways to enjoy the day and bring a smile to yourself and us. What a blessing you are! I have a sign in my kitchen window that says “If you cannot sing, be the song.” That’s you Nanny, a song. God bless us all. 🎶🎶

I understand Nanny what you say about life preferences as we get older. How things slow down. You out there pulling those vines. I was holding my breath that you would fall. Making the bed is getting harder for me. I never thought that would happen. When I went on my river cruise in Europe, each walking tour was 2 hours long. I had my little walker, and I did it, but if there is ever a next time, I will do my own tour so I can rest more. I am slowing down and I really don't like that. Ha Ha. But I'm grateful to God for allowing me to still enjoy life. Just a little slower. Bless you Nanny.

It’s always nice to have a vacation, but it’s always nice to get home. Such has a trip to DelTaco😊. Where did those Morning Glory’s come from. Do they just grow wild there. We have to plant them here in Texas and they are annuals here. But yes your roses are really beautiful. Well I guess Shamu is indeed happy to be the only cat. How did you get Shamu? Just watching what you have to go through to change the sheets on your adjustable bed has taken that off of our “new” bed list. Loved the video. Hugs and God Bless, Caroline.

I think the zip on fitted sheets would make your life easier. Once the bottom part is placed on the the base of the mattress then the top just zips into place. There after, to wash (remove) just unzip the top of the sheet. You would only need a helpful family member to put the bottom part of the sheet on the mattress for you, initially.

🦋So great to see you and Moosie back “in the swing of things”, Sweet Nanny. I know the Cottage missed you both as well. Awww, kitties will be back I pray. I loved that you two sit on the bed and enjoy your “Dels”! I had dreamed of doing that in retirement with my ‘husband’ of 35 years, but alas, he didn’t want ti be with me any more. I’m 67 and alone and live vicariously thru you and all your fabulous viewers around the world. Thank you for always making me laugh, and for being your fabulous self. God bless you and Moose, and all the pets, too. From Michigan where it’s 86 degrees today! My best to all 🤗🌞🌸🌼💚

Nanny, morning glory is one of the hardest weed to kill. A farmer here in Washington state found morning glory, that the roots were 40 ft. In the ground. The only thing to use is Round-up with 2% solution. But if you spray it on the morning glory and it gets on something else, it will kill that too. The best way is to find the source and dig it up. In your case, that looks like it is impossible! 😟👍🏻🌼🌸🌻💐

Dear Nanny and Moose. Nanny you are back at Del Taco…lol. Looks good! You are certainly a jewelry girl. I wish that I could share my turquoise jewelry with you. I never wear it. My morning glory is on an arbor. It gets what I call “reachers”. I take the rose clippers and cut those off as they reach for the fence or my evergreens. You need to be careful not to get the “milk” that comes from the cut ends on skin or clothing. It is a dickens to wash off! But the blooms are beautiful. Your roses are beautiful. A couple of mine are getting a gray substance on them. Do you know what that is? I don’t see any insects. The news said that we will go from May gray to June gloom. Then the weekend will be warmer. I am afraid that the heat will be stifling this summer and fall. I don’t do well with heat so I am dreading it. Memorial Day weekend was hard for me. It was what we called our home’s birthday. It was 52 years ago this past weekend that we moved in. The house was brand new. Just a house in the middle of a dirt corner lot. We had a five year old and a new baby. What stories I could tell! My husband loved NASCAR. So he enjoyed the Memorial Day 500. Well the house was silent, no children or the sound of the loud engines. Thus a difficult time. All holidays have become difficult. I always decorated and made appropriate food for even the smallest of occasions. Oh how I miss everything. I hope that you found some spoons. Moose needs a talking to…lol. Blessings to you both, love, Sharon

I am with you on that Nanny! I have done and done soooo much all my life and now I am getting a bit stingy and only want to do what I want to do. All our children live with in ten miles yet they all work full time and have their own businesses and are super busy so we see them but not as often as we used to as their children/our grandchildren are either all adults with occupations or in highschool and have their activities. We still do Christmas and Easter all together but I've even slowed down on what I take. It's always at the largest home and that means carrying and packing all things up and by the time we've gotten home we are exhausted from packing and unpacking just to go across town to the kids. LOL Sounds crazy but true....I'm sure many can relate! We see them often but so many schedules to try to arrange is almost impossible at times. Now great grandbabies are on the way and so that's a whole other situation. LOL Trying to incorporate all the families and in laws of the grandchildren can equal up to 40 people at a time. It's a lot! Sometimes it's just easier to stay home in the quietness of the patio or have a zoom to be in on a bit of their days. Wishing I still had the energy that I did just ten years ago. LOL Blessings.........and I am so glad you are home. I really missed you being in your own space and surroundings...what is funny is that I am only about 6 hours from Bear Hallow so it was fun knowing you were that close to our state of WA and actually at the airport my one granddaughter flies out from when she visits home from Spokane. Blessings

Love that beaded bracelet - going to have to get one. I hope Ghost reappears - I think he thinks something happened to you. Oh I love morning glory! I'll take it! I do know they can be invasive but I love them. It is 88 here today and has been getting hotter every day here in Indiana - getting up to 90s later this week. I hate this heat! Thankfully so far the evenings have been cooling down. Be careful in the garden - all it takes is one fall!

That weed tries to take over my garden, too. If you don't get the roots, it'll grow bk. Why do weeds grow so well anywhere, but our flowers and veggies struggle? Our heat is coming on strong, too. I hate it. I go out early or around 7pm to water my plants. I'm with you girlie!! I'm ready for Fall!! I'm recently bk from a trip to AZ so I'm loving just staying home. Hello dear Nanny,Thank you for your wonderful video back home sweat home.. Its always a pleasure to view you, Moose the animals around you and your beautiful inspiring life. You film very nicely everything and I lore the length of your videos. Congratulations for changing the linen on Mooses side of the bed.You seem to have the perfect fitting linen for the bed. I have a queen size bed and my bottom fitted sheets are not well fitting so I have to keep readjusting them daily and its always a hassle. Do you know of a good brand name for cotton fitted sheets? You are such a dear to have gone out and gotten the breakfast for both you and your Moose. That iced coffee and meal look so inviting. He is really blessed to have you. About spoons? I love my teaspoons and would be quite upset if I knew someone was throwing them out. But in your case you seem to have some really good quality thrifts shops near you to replenish the ones that dissapeared . I also loves to see you in your garden, It motivated me to go out into mine and tackle what need to be done. Yes the weeds are always something we have to prune away or pull out. I just now am almost finished planting my vegetable garden. Today will plant the big bell peppers plants, and the small green, red, and hot ones as well. Herewe have been blessed this May with lovely sunny weather . But like you say not every year is the same. So lovely to see your roses doing so nicely. Best regards to you and your Moose. I have a feeling Ghost may re-appear.🥀🍀🌹😸❣😾💕🌹☘
