I know this was a tough loss for country music and its fans. It's evident from reading comments about him that he has positively impacted everyone one way or another. My deepest condolences go out to his family and those closest to him during this difficult time. Let's keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. My heart is shattered. 💔 He did so much for other cancer patients. He built his version of the Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma. He was very active in the recovery efforts after the Moore OK tornado that devastated so much of the town and rural areas. That is were I met him. We had gone down recover some horses and cattle until their owners could rebuild. We had planned only one trip due to expenses. He funded another two trips, and feed, vet bills, etc. and we were able to transport 36 horses and 49 cows to our properties here in the Kansas City metro area and care for them for the 6-10 weeks they needed before going back home. A truly remarkable, caring, and spiritual man. He has finally beaten cancer and is in the paradise of our Lord. God Bless his amazing wife, children, and grandchildren, and give them strength and comfort during this difficult time for them. May they find peace in the fact that his pain is gone, and that there is one hell of a concert going on in heaven right now.

My prayers go out to all as well. “I wanna talk about me” and “How do you like me now” are two of his best. “Whiskey For My Men, Beer for my Horses” video is so awesome! His live performance of “I’ll never smoke weed with Willie Nelson again”..... priceless! Toby was funny, had beautiful slow songs “if you kiss like that”, “who’s that man!” And then “My list” after 9/11 and “Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and blue (the angry American) is pure patriotic gold. Oklahoma Sooners will be serving beer in red solo cups at their upcoming basketball game against Oklahoma State to honor Toby Keith. Toby was a massive Oklahoma Sooner fan. He was almost always seen at most games of all sports, and usually seen on campus. He was almost always on the sideline for a lot of football games this past season. And in November he did a little podcast interview with former OU coach Bob Stoops. He mentioned that he wanted to start up a podcast. 😕

Toby will be greatly missed. He gave us a lot of great music. His songs always evoked a strong emotion- some like this one were laughter, some were sadness and some were pride but they all made you feel something. There aren’t many artists whose music does that these days.

My ex deployed to Iraq in 2006 (we were still married). I listened to American Soldier so often and cried to release the stress of the deployment and trying to hold down the home front. A lot of his songs also helped me laugh and cheered me up. The Taliban Song is great as well as I’ll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again

Listen to Don't let the old man in. The live performance at the People's choice awards last Sept. Where he was awarded the country music icon award. We believe he knew them that would be one of his last performances. Also listen to Waymans song called crying for me. He wrote it for his bf and band mate who also passed away. However now it hits a little different since us fans are the ones crying for me due to Toby's passing. And there are soooo many more you need to listen to. To all those who are actively going through Cancer Treatments at this time I want to say you can get through it and the Lord will be with you every step of the way if you ask in 04 my daughter went through chemo and radiation on her cancer an 05 they found cancer in me I ended up in two surgeries and I've been cancer-free since then it's 2024 now you can make it through the Lord lead us through our battles he never left our sides and then 4 years later the lord gave me a grandchild through my daughter who had never brought a live child into this world she had her a girl in 2009

I'm very sad to have lost a country legend from my era.. He was only 5 yrs older than me and I just watched on CMT a tribute to him.. I cried like a baby.. but I like your take on it..
