It sounds like a scam, because of how she waited until completion. She was under threat from the city for violations, right? Usually how they proceed is to serve notice as they already had, then they fine you, then they'll send a crew out to mow and such (with NO concern for damage to decorative vegetation, they'll just remove EVERYTHING), then they'll bill you for that service - and you still have to pay the fines. Seems like maybe this happened to her in the past, and this time upon notice being served, she worked out a way to get the property mown for free, and is using the lawsuit to get money to pay her fines. Even IF she goes through with a lawsuit, good chance with evidence including this video, that they'd throw it out. I'd even suggest possibly countersuing for the scam and things like defamation or whatever could be pursued for trying to destroy part of his livelihood (I'm sure the KZbin channel helps him make money).

Why waste time researching into any of that stuff?🤔 Any case would be mediated easily once the court is aware that the individual accepted the free offer, have them permission, and especially when he offered to replace the plants. The one thing he does need to keep an eye on is any bogus BBB complaints the individual may post if he is accredited with the service.

I watched the video 3 times and can't see them in the yard at all. Plus Gardenia plants are rooted beneath the ground you cut the top and they still grow. If they were so "established" then how come we can't see them? It looks to me like they must have been dying above ground and needed trimming anyway if they were really there. I think she made it up to try to get money. He offered to replace them 3x. People are so ungrateful these days. If she had "told him about them a few days ago" Al would have double checked, he's good like that. All that could be seen is overgrown grass and weeds.

I am a gardener, unless you dug out the roots it will grow next year and how could they see it through all the weeds and grass. My yard isn't a pristine garden, its a bit shaggy cause it is summer and too hot to mow, has some weeds cause they grow faster than i can keep up. I don't have $ for a lawn service but i still love my gardenia, my hibiscus, and my night blooming jasmine.

Why would they say "Thank you"??? These landscapers offered to cut their lawn to make a KZbin video which is advertisement for their business, so it's not exactly for "free." The homeowner pointed out the Gardenias, which are hard to miss. It's simply very poor work for a landscape worker to accidentally mow down gardenias, especially after they were pointed out to them. When a client points out something that's important to them, and the workers take it lightly instead of showing due diligence, then such workers don't deserve to be trusted. Of course the homeowners are upset.

First of all if you were there for 4 days. If she wanted you off the property she should I've asked you to leave the first hour you started the job. But she waited until you were done. She had a notice from the city, she would have had to hire someone to come and clean the property. Either way she would have had to hire someone else or you. You stepped in and did it at no cost.
