Hearing Tamera saying that about being beat down by critics is just hartbreaking. I remember that confident girl, and honestly fifteen year old me was so jealous of that confidence because I didn't have it. To think that it was taken away from you, Tamera, makes me feel so sad for us both. I really hope that the girls growing up now will benefit from all this me too times up wokness.

I'm about to be 43 yrs old , and i have to remind myself I'm an adult. I need to speak up and speak out. I'm a grown as woman damn it! That's what happens when you keep telling your child to shut up all the time. I'm working on being productively assertive, without losing control, being self conscious and insecure.
@tagaway61733 жыл бұрын
Exactly.... It could be about anything in life and I still need to remind myself to speak up because in some areas I still haven't evolve yet. For example, my mom took me to the beauty salon after I was 14 and she always told them what to do and left, them came back to pick me up. As an adult I don't go much to a beuty salon and most of the time I let them do what they think is good because besides them being the professionals, I didn't have a voice. Listening to other women tell me on.. let's say a Wednesday; "On Saturday in going to the salon and I'm going to cut my ends, do a color but this time I don't want to do a roller set and tell them to just blowdry me and flat iron it" I'm thinking to myself "you get to order them? I like my eyebrows thick, how do I communicate that?" Or going to the bank 🏦 "Can I have 600$ in hundreds bills?" "Oh I only have one, the rest will be in 20s." "If I wanted 20s I would use the atm. 🏧 I know there's hundreds in the back. If you want, you can take the next customers and I'll sit over there and when u have the opportunity to go to the back then u do my request. I'm not in a rush" Also Is hard to speak up without sounding rude, And since English is not my first language, I need time to think my responses. Most times I drive away crying cuz I didn't speak up and I play all the scenarios of what I could have said.

I’m glad that Tamera said it was an “agreement” with negative criticisms because it truly is a choice to believe them which also means we can disagree with them and keep on going 👏🏿👏🏿

it's so true. i never think about 15 year old me who was scared and insecure and never told nice things. and as a woman now who is headstrong, ambitious, and (trying my best to be) generous. i think i'd tell my child self that she is strong, kind, and brilliant and if someone just told ME those 3 things! my god i would have saved the world by now. so important to hype kids up (within reason).

The Will conversation was responsible to have on your platform!!!! It’s almost guaranteed drama and family wrath if there’s no will in place, you don’t want that for your fam or for your legacy! And as we can see, growing old is a LUXURY!! So many young people are losing their lives every single day. I’m 22 and plan to get life insurance when I start working again

I don’t think it’s a bad thing to answer to your younger self. It’s healthier than the alternative, like keeping up w the joneses or comparing yourself to others. You are your only competition 🙏🏿

I never really thought about the little girl inside, but when I think about her, all I see is literally flashbacks of all the molestation and physical abuse that I went through. I'm 22 and obviously there is some things I need to address inside me.

I’m 25 years old, I don’t really talk to my younger self, but I do think about that shy, insecure, scared little girl who was always bullied and put down, so she was scared to take risks. But today, I start conversations more, defend myself, and I do take risks for myself and my daughter.

I think the selfishness that’s involved when wills are written... people feel so entitled to have... because “ I think I deserve it more than you “ obviously the one who wrote the will before they passed can agree or disagree depending on if they wrote what you can have... I think the drama ruins the love and bonds family have... because money is a monster... whether rich or poor... don’t let it get to you... you not about to let something that was written down once change your life in two seconds just because you don’t have something designated to you

the dates are great to have now because before no one knew when it was filmed unless there was something big and we all knew when it happened, point is it’s taking away the views so maybe take that extra step and put the dates in the description and make titles again, if you put somethings like “GIRL CHAT VAULT: What would YOU say to your younger self” and you’d get at least 100k views rather than 40k, just a tip love this show and wouldn’t want to see it get cancelled over bad marketing (: ❤️

I think the one thing we should do is always make sure to have that inner child within us at all times... I think what the climate were in , we all take ourselves too seriously and end up saying crazy things and doing crazy things to each other... instead of trying to be so hard and stone cold...just sit back , chillax ! Enjoy life and not be so stuck up regarding every little thing...explore , live , love , and learn
