The #ToyotaTacoma has long been the best-selling midsize truck in America over the last few years. As the segment continue to gain more popularity, newcomers from Jeep and Ford are looking to steal some sales away from Toyota which is why for 2020, the #Tacoma and #TacomaTRDPRO get minor, but effective changes to the outside and inside.Tech focused buyers will appreciate the new 8" touch-screen head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a new 10-way power drivers seat, while the exterior gets a fresh look with available full LED headlights for the first time. #TRDPro #Toyota

Trying to decide between a 2020 4Runner TRD Pro and 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro? Stay tuned for a comparison between those two trucks which should go live later this month. We also wanted to clarify two things: the towing capability and the snorkel... the truck in this video actually tows a maximum of 6,400 lbs, not 5,000 pounds and Toyota says the snorkel is mostly designed for the engine not to suck up dust and sand when you're going fast along those dirt roads and not necessarily for diving through some deep water. Do you guys think Toyota has made enough changes to the Tacoma for 2020 to keep it competitive?
@theburgermeister7214
@theburgermeister7214 4 жыл бұрын
Yes the Tacoma is the best on the market. I work at a Toyota dealer even these things used with 55,000 miles still go for $32000 the reliability is unreal and so is the resale value. Its simple but very clean looking and easy to use everything in the truck

They recommend in snow that the snorkel should be turned around not in ingest water going down the road. To answer your question I think Tacoma is way too expensive when you can get other brands with better tech and mpg's. Eventually Toyota will need to develop a more efficient engine for better mpg's to compete. I personally own a 2019 Tacoma and wish I still had my 2012 Frontier.

D LG is right. Toyota specified this isn't for water fording. It is just a cold air intake and secondary benefit is clener air when running in dusty conditions.

That's what I've always said. I grew up on Toyota pick ups with my pops buying his 1st 1989, which is still running past 500k miles original motor, transmission, etc. But man has Toyota heavily relied on their brand loyalty and never gjving customers more bang for their buck. They wait for the competition to heat in the mid sized truck segment to put power seats and full LED drl? Got it.

These trucks never change. Guess you cannot blame Toyota since they sell so well. But it would certainly nice to see a truly updated Tacoma one of these years, but I doubt it'll happen since Toyota isnt a leader, but rather follower.

Even with the changes to the driver seat, it is still too uncomfortable for a guy over 6'. I'm 6'3 and my head was hitting the ceiling on the lowest setting. At that point, I might as well be sitting on the floor. Hopeful Toyota gets the new Taco right when it shares the same platform as the Tundra

Not your best review in terms of going over the features. I know this isn't your full review and maybe it was edited out but you did not mention any of the overhead controls i.e., crawl and multi-terrain system or the segment only power sliding rear window, and the TRD Pro's Fox suspension components

Alex N. This being the same truck since 2016, I think he really only wanted to touch on the changes. There were mistakes though. I agree with this being an overall bad review.

This third-generation design has had many problems/issues with the engine/transmission/gearing, being under-powered and/or under-geared. Particularly problematic and noticeable on the highway as it CONSTANTLY (down)shifts between 5th and 6th gear. I've been waiting for Toyota to address/resolve, and which you had included highway driving to evaluate?

There’s others details I can criticize but the tires it’s like... really?! For such an expensive truck designed for off roading. The tires don’t even look like all terrains. I think at least the Trd pro should have a beefier tire and better wheels.
