This is just one of those most surprising movies I have ever watched that shocked me how good it was at the end, when I didn't know at the time how much I apparently liked ugly gooey gore displayed prolifically on bodies being killed. While my favorite Tarantino character was when he played the poor Pick-Up Guy in Desperado (the second film in that trilogy), I think this was his best performance, he's really good at being creepy. The humorous line, "No thanks, I've already had a wife", was improvised by George Clooney. Director Robert Rodriguez never intended it to be in the final cut, but after the studio included the line in a trailer, he felt obligated to include it in the film. Salma Hayek has a real fear of snakes and had always refused to be near them. Naturally when she read the script, she knew her phobia would prevent her from taking the part. Robert Rodriguez conned her into thinking that Madonna was ready to nab the part instead so Hayek spent two months with therapists to overcome her fear. Salma Hayek did not have a choreographer for her dance, because, according to her, you can't choreograph the live snake she wore around her neck. So director Robert Rodriguez just told her to feel the music and dance to it. Rodriguez used the same tactic with Jessica Alba in Sin City (2005). Green blood was used for the vampires to get the movie past the censors.

Ikr? I feel the same way, Seth Gecko's still my favorite character he's ever played, he was so badass & had so many great quotes. "Everybody be cool, *YOU* be cool!" is a classic.

Trip thing about this movie, no matter how many times I've seen it in jus realizing that Trejo and Cheech both actually tried to save them. Twice they told them they weren't welcome but who they were as criminals wouldn't allow that to happen. Damn Also that body guitar scene😂

Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤ I saw this movie in the cinema and a lot of people left once it turned to a vampire fight 😂

That was an uber cute reaction. I've always loved FDTD. 99.9% of us knew it was a Vampire film when it was released...The cuteness factor comes from when the Bar locals transform and u 2 are like..."Are they're Aliens???.. They're Demons!!!, ,,,,,Oh ,,,wait ,,they're Vampires." Glad you enjoyed!

Gonna show my age real quick, but we rented this from Blockbuster and we had no idea what it was about. We were digging it as like a thriller action kinda movie then the genre switch took us by total surprise 😂 it was nuts.

What is a blockbooster? Is that some type of drug from the 1920's?! 😂😂😂🫂

The sheriff whose acting Tara is admiring in the opening scene is the wonderful Michael Parks, who also played the sheriff investigating The Bride's shooting in Kill Bill 1 and the very distinguished Mexican gentleman who points Uma Thurman towards Bill in Kill Bill 2, along with something like 100 other film and TV roles.

Glad to see that you had a blast watching this one! I certainly love it a lot myself. It’s not quite a perfect movie but I think it’s a great movie and just really entertaining. I love the acting, script, characters, dialogue, horror, vampire elements, and the different change in tone of this movie. Honestly, this is amongst Tarantino’s best work.

HELL! YES! This is one of my all-time favorite films. I saw this in the theater (as part of a double feature with Don't Be A Menace...) and it was one of the best moviegoing experiences I've had. I bought the soundtrack and recently, I bought the out-of-print published screenplay. Before the film was released on home video, a friend got me a bootleg VHS. I used to run it on my TV in the background, while I did homework or art. I know this movie backwards and forwards, inside and out. The feature-length documentary, Full Tilt Boogie is also a ton of fun. They went through a lot to get this movie made and I'm so happy it's getting the love and recognition it deserves.

Watched this movie for the first time a couple days ago, and I've got to say Tarantino really knows how to make you feel disturbed and highly impressed at the same time.

"...I'm gonna turn this place into The f**king Wild Bunch..." The Wild Bunch (1969) is a legendary film and one of Tarantino's favorites. Incrediblly violent but unforgettable. The final shootout beats the finales of so many films that came out decades later.
