Mon Mothma throwing her husband under the bus for the missing credits has to be the best subtle moment from her. She accuses him of gambling and racking up debts in front of her driver, who she knows is ISB, and then ISB thinks its him who spent those credits, then she arranges the marriage deal with the gangster and since her husband is the more conservative of the two, it looks like he is the one arranging it to cover up his debts. Very smart play, as soon as I saw her accusing him, I had a feeling that was how things would play out.

What I loved about this finale is that it wasn’t spectacle, it wasn’t over the top, it didn’t close all questions and tie up all threads. It didn’t kill off major characters because “it’s the end of a season.” It purposefully gave us just enough, and told us where to be and what to see for Season 2. These kinds of finale’s are RARE these days. It told the story it needed to, to get ready for Season 2, without sacrificing anything or forcing anything for the sake of a finale. This was a true finale, and I love that Andor stayed true to itself the entire season!

Andor finale is nothing shot of a masterpiece. It's very powerful. Today's season finale felt like a roaring occasion. The way every story arc weaves together for this chapter is just phenomenal. It might not be a definitive ending for some of the actual events (with several open paths of ambiguity & cliffhanger energy), but it is absolutely a phenomenal ending for the themes & characters. Diego Luna is the heart and soul of this series. Lets not forget that post-credit scene with Andor was so freakin good. The battle lines have been drawn in this finale.

Best SW product since Empire. Just incredible. The scene where Brasso replays Maarva's message to Cassian is so moving. From the way they embraced, you could feel the sorrow, the anguish, and the love they felt for Maarva and for each other. Then related what Maarva said, how he told Cassian, the way they both felt her words. That was some real $hit right there. This series has had some awesome monologues and here's how I rank them from 1-5 - Luthen: Sacrifice; Maarva: I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong; Nemik: Try; Maarva: Fight The Empire; Kino: One Way Out

I agree. For me Andor easily since Rogue One, ROTS and ESB is the best executed SW. I like Mando really to - it’s the classical space western and has also great characters. But overall Andor set the bar in terms of directing, writing, dialogues and monologues and acting higher and kept it throughout the entire season. Despite Andor being darker, harsher and on a different tension pace (espionage thriller vs space western) I believe just the quality of the mentioned strengths Mando has a little bit more potential to come near this bar. And I hope they do in S3

When you guys discussed how the Empire, Luthen, everyone is so focused on trying to find Andor that they don't even realize that the people of Ferrix will rise against them, I wonder if that's some sort of metacommentary from this show in general. Because this show seems to steer away from the traditional Star Wars notion of "the Chosen One" or the plucky Rebel pilot who's gonna come in at the last minute and save the day by blowing up the Death Star. It seems like it's sending the message that power comes not just from individuals, but collectives. It's the collective people of Ferrix that rise up against the Empire. It's the collective working of all the prisoners of Narkina 5 that free themselves.

It was about everyone who's been oppressed coming together and fighting for what's right. The prisoners of Narkina 5, the people of Ferrix. All coming together and "furthering the lines," as Nemik said. I was an ugly sobbing mess at three particular moments: Nemik's manifesto, Brasso telling Cassian about Maarva, the people of Ferrix fighting, and that incredible speech delivered by who else but Fiona Shaw. 2 plans... good vs evil and neither played out because people had their own plan. There are people that say this series was too long but they're missing the connection to the story. I'm going to have such a HUGE hole in my spirit while I wait for season 2. This was the best, single season of television I've ever watched in 40 years.

Stroke of brilliance by Mon! He wasn’t gambling but his reaction would be real for the snooping driver. It also makes him an ally to Mon again, because he has most likely cause issues for her before and while he may be an ass, he won’t be accused of that mistake again. So he said “name them!” vehemently… she was acting, he was not. Brillz, Mon!

Wow! Just wow! This was definitely my favorite episode in the show. I loved everything about it. This episode was just so amazing. I feel like everything in this was just so perfect, the writing, the emotion, the build up, the acting and the music. Not to mention how tense it became, especially towards the end of the funeral procession. I also loved all the symbolism throughout this episode. I loved that we got to see all of the main characters come together, one final time and be able to see how majority of their stories wrapped up. And I feel like like I can’t talk about this episode without talking about Maarva’s speech. Hearing how her voice and emotions shifted from sadness to uplifting while giving that great monologue was amazing and so beautiful. It was really able to sell me on her defiance against the Empire and on the things she was trying to achieve. I loved everything about the funeral scene, whether it be the music, the importance or the look of all the citizens coming together, it all just felt so great. And the fight between the people of Ferrix and the Imperials was so awesome. Not only was it really action packed but it was also super chaotic which I feel like was the perfect tone for what was going on. And that Post Credits Scene was so crazy on so many different levels it was incredible. I feel like there is still so much I could talk about for this episode let alone this entire show. This was definitely one of the best Star Wars shows and I’m so glad that I have been able to watch all of it and been able to see your reactions and hear your thoughts on it and I can’t wait for Season 2 of Andor to watch your guys reactions to this fantastic show again.

Every moment of this season was utilized well. The slowness of the first two episodes was needed to really grasp Ferrix life. And the payoff was this finale. So glad B2EMO survived and will be able to take care of Bix. I hope we can see the Rebel crew next season. Would be a great payoff for FPJ to play a live action Kanan and interact with Andor at least once.

What a brilliant end credit scene. This show is easily the most grounded Star Wars experience out there. Not sure if I prefer it to Mandalorian or not, they’re both so different from each other and fulfill different things that I enjoy from a show set in a galaxy far far away. I hope now that people can see this show as a complete season then the complaint about it being slow might go away a bit. I’m not convinced that the one-episode-a-week formula works for a show like this.

I completely disagree about it not being a once a week show. I think it needed that, it's all about the tension, the build up, the slow but steady pressure adding and adding to Andor and the other characters around him. If it was a binged show then it would just be flash bang done and would take away that aspect. This isn't like say cobra kai where it's mainly about big fights and lots of stuff going on. It needed to be slow because that's the entire point, it's the feeling they want it to have.
@dubbleplusgood2 жыл бұрын
It's much better per week so each episode can be discussed, appreciated, broken down, Easter eggs etc. If it was all at once much of that would be lost.

As always, this was a well thought out and enthusiastic reaction! Great job! Easily the best Star Wars show we've had, and I love Mandalorian, but the writing, score, cinematography, direction and acting have been BRILLIANT! As I predicted..... Cassian went back to Ferrix, but not for the funeral. He went back for Bix. Marva pronouncement lignited the fires of rebellion against the Empire. The Imperial forces were over confident and underestimated the Daughter's of Ferrix. Cassian knows how the Empire thinks. They were so busy flexing their show of might, that Cassian easily slipped through their cracks and liberated the fish' they had caught already. Because of the chaos, Luthen knew there was no way they would find Cassian, ev n if they did see him. He knows Ferrix too well for them and the empire. When Cassian showed up on Luthen ship defenseless; having traversed through all the chaos, Luthen knew that The Rebellion needs Cassian Andor ....ALIVE.

What I loved about the finale was that Andor was sent on "the side quest", if you will, and didn't really participate in the main storyline, the explosive one with all the action. But it worked great because the people of Ferrix feel like a character of its own: you don't know them all that well personally, but you feel for them as a group. The series stops being just about Andor (well, it never was) because it's about something greater than him, and you don't need him to be in thick of it to care. Also, I love the "characters who haven't met all season suddenly find themselves in the same place" trope, and felt so much anticipation through the whole episode, it was amazing.

You folx said it earlier on this season and it rings so true in this episode: Andor is the Mad Max of this show.
