It was a great episode! I expected something big, but I did not know it would be this epic. Last week's episode (which I enjoyed) was a typical episodic storytelling. A light story, with a few key moments to move the story along before the big reveal that came in this episode. It's frustrating that a lot of streaming audiences don't recognize this since binge watching skews how you view the pacing of a show. Favreau and team have advanced this franchise in far more entertaining ways than the films have since the original trilogy. This episode would not have felt as special if last week's palate cleanser didn't occur first. If every episode was big like the fans claim they want, no episode would feel special in the end.

Info gets passed along and after finishing the fight in space the hit the surface and between the two finish off this part of the Imperial remnants. Could be interesting to see, but who knows.

One of the issues I had for the last 6 episodes was that it kinda felt like it was just stuff happening and nothing that really made me feel like the characters were in risk like Grogu during all of Season 2. But well... this episode REALLY changed my mind on this season!
@thebendu33 Жыл бұрын
I'm under the impression that the studio has interfered in the show. Look grogu was gone with Luke. Din and him got reunited in another show (which make absolutely no sense). Plus there was big rumors about Pedro being difficult and heard that Favreau had beef with KK. This was partly reported by Jeff Snider from collider. He tend to be pretty reliable. And if we think about the celebrations, Favreau (who did great movie for Disney) is not attached to any up coming movies, which is kind of weird. Filoni gets to end the mandoverse (not that I'm against at all, I love Filoni) but there something weird inside. Plus paz dying. I'm under the impression that Pedro and Favreau will be leaving. Just a feeling, and I hope I'm wrong. About the season, I pretty much agree with you. Last night episode was really good. Hopefully, the next was one will be at least equal or better.

maybe it’s just me but I don’t need the characters to be in danger for an episode to grab me; I just want character development and some form of story development. imo, character development can fall into this category, especially in this show where our main character has struggled with his identity and those around him have been dealing with taking back their cultural homeland. I enjoyed this episode as it was pulling together several story elements, and it felt like the first time in ages they were highlighting Din and Grogu's bond. As you all said, the main issue with how they've used Din this season is that it's felt so unfocused, In this episode it feels like he's regained more of a purpose, but they'll really need to do something significant with him in the finale to make it feel like there are two leads. I suspect they just haven't managed to get the balance right because they needed to do so much to establish Bo's position, but the finale will confirm what their intentions were. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Chekov's bottle from Greef will mean we get a good ending. (Knowing Thrawn from Timothy Zahn's books, I've been looking forward to his return since he was mentioned in S2)

I've never gottten over the throne room scene with those guys, when they are man-handling their light saber nun-chucks, actually grabbing the light blade whipping them around, like dude, that would cut directly through your hand if its actually a light saber so WTF actually is this. Worst scene in all SW despite the exciting fight choreography...but the links to the Sequels in Mandolorian is awesome.

Yes this is the Empire Strikes back of the Mandalorian episodes. The Preatorian Guards battle was done better than the Last Jedi battle with Rey and Ben. Also I feel with The Thrawn arc he wants to use the necromancer program to resurrected undead stormtroopers for the whole Heir to the Empire storyline with Ahsoka.
@DanV900 Жыл бұрын
The battle absolutely was not done better than in TLJ. The guards in this episode weren’t moving very fast and it was not much of a fight. Let’s not get so hyperbolic.
@Nergalsama01 Жыл бұрын
@@DanV900 Agreed, those three had zero problems taking out Paz. I guess we'll see more of them next week, though.
@Scarran Жыл бұрын
@@DanV900It was better because it wasn't filmed so badly that you could see them dancing around and not taking clear chances to kill. I believe they edited out a weapon after the fact because you could see Rey should have been stabbed. I noticed that stuff the first time I watched in the theater..at least here they clearly came to just kill and leave. Wasn't a super amazing fight scene but they looked competent and lethal.
@DanV900 Жыл бұрын
@@Scarran It wasn’t a better choreographed scene though and wasn’t really a fight. It was very slow and like the Obi-Wan/Vader duel in ANH. I remember that moment with a knife disappearing and not being used on Rey to kill her. It was 3 on 1 after someone exhausted his gun so it looks less impressive.
@Scarran Жыл бұрын
@@DanV900 Most fights are not dudes jumping around like idiots..which is why it's easy to catch prison time in real fights within seconds. That's why it was better to me. I'm not disputing that Paz was tired.. He was. If those guys had been screwing around like the "choreography" in the throne room..Paz would still be alive.

I’m getting a bad feeling about Axe Woves. Every time he has had to face off against someone, he tries to get a sneaky opening shot against his opponent. As soon as things get tough, he immediately bails, even if it’s under the guise of getting reinforcements despite the lack of transport or communications. I suspect that he is a double agent, possibly a member of the Saxon clan himself

We can all agree that this is a "Lone Wolf and Cub" story... Right? Typically in LW&C stories, they're helping OTHER people's stories. They NEVER become the focus. It's always their experience in the world? They'll get friends, allies, and enemies, but the stories told will be about how they helped someone else achieve a goal.
@pjny21 Жыл бұрын
Or like a medieval romance story (Le Morte d' Arthur) - the knight travels, sits down with a Lord & Lady, dedicates his sword to the Lady (at least that's how its depicted in Arthur, repeatedly lol), and then goes on to cure the kingdom of some ill.
@julieporter7805 Жыл бұрын
@@pjny21 I didn't think about that but yes definitely. Also with all of the imagery of squires being knighted with Ragnar getting his helmet, going on pilgrimages to redeem themselves like the Living Waters of Mandalore, the Mythosaur being a dragon. Heck even the scene from last week's episode with Grogu getting knighted fit that whole motif. Also worth noting on knight's quests, they are often aided by a dwarf/little person or a page or squire. Grogu fits all three.

This episode was amazing! All feelings came back, a real frickin good rollercoaster! There's good, worthy Star Wars comedy, good storytelling and progression, epic spaceships, betrayal, honor, solidarity, helpfulness, and death.
