Fun Facts on Saw II: •It took approximately 120,000 syringes to complete the "Needle Pit" trap. It took four days for four people to replace all of the syringe tips with fiber tips for the "Needle Pit" trap. When shooting the "Needle Pit" scene, a handful of real needles fell into the pit, thus causing the crew to halt filming and find the needles before filming could commence. Therefore they were literally searching for “Needles in a needle pit.” •To conceal the ending, most of the actors were not given the last 25 pages of the script. Only the principal actors involved in the sequence knew. • this movie Was shot in 25 days and the whole film was done in One building. • In the first week of its DVD release, this sold over 3,000,000 units, making it Lionsgate's fastest-selling DVD.

My 'favorite' trap he devised was the suspended glass case where she had to reach her arms up through the blades to reach the antidote. You briefly see it: on the other side of the case (facing us as the viewers) you see a hinge that is locked, and the key is THERE IN THE LOCK. If she had just taken the time to walk around the case and inspect it, that antidote was a freebie.
@Jumpyman_thegamerYT Жыл бұрын
Yeah. She was so focused on getting the syringe that she didn't stop to think about just reaching for it.
@Wraiven22 Жыл бұрын
She’s also could’ve just pushed the blades up with her other hand. I love how in this movie all of the traps are survivable, I hate the ones like Amanda’s OG test where she had to kill someone. The one where everyone can make it out alive yet human folly and weakness leads to deaths are the coolest.
@AbsoluteApril Жыл бұрын
yup but her thought process was probably clouded from the poison in her system, at least that's how I justify her stupid choices in that room XD
@nilesstark Жыл бұрын
She would have probably known about the key if she played Gus' tape.
@brianb-t4v Жыл бұрын
Also this trap was probably “meant” for Amanda. She was in there for cutting herself, that trap would fit with that. And since she’s in on it she’d know to use the hinge side.

I have a theory about the safe: there was enough antidote inside for everyone. The numbers were tattooed “in the back” of everyone’s mind, and their order was based on the colors of the rainbow; Jigsaw is known to reward cooperation between those who play his games, so it would follow that if they had all worked together to solve the combination, it’s highly likely they all would have had a syringe with their name on it (perhaps even literally, with their name on it) inside.
@hanonondricek411 Жыл бұрын
And many antidotes were singly obtainable if they didn't rush and worked together - like the hand trap, the needle pit (ignore the door, carefully sift through needles with the bat - the key had a syringe attached), at least one from the furnace if they didn't pull the chain... Three people didn't see their traps so they potentially could have all had one even without the safe.

At the time this film was absolutely slated by critics as torture porn and whatever. Which is a woefully bad take. The violence is all purposeful, much more so than many films critics love. And it’s also a series which creates an incredibly deep mythos, has a theme, and brilliantly suspenseful writing with its Hitchcock esque twists.
@robbo_96 Жыл бұрын
I've had that problem with bias that critics show, just cuz a movie is more art-house or by an acclaimed director or they apply some deep meaning to something that's just plain sick they lavish praise on it, but when it's a more commercial movie that resonates with audiences more they don't buy into it and put an agenda against it
@simonO712 Жыл бұрын
I can definitely see that criticism being somewhat accurate with regard to some of the later ones (especially Saw VII comes to mind), but not this one. Part of it is torture porn for sure, but not nearly to the degree that that's all there is to it.

The thing about Addison (pink shirt girl) she’s been in the house breathing the agent and was one of the first to cough up blood. So around the time she got to that trap logic imo completely left her mind and the only thing she was thinking of was getting the antidote and got desperate when it spilled (fun fact) the trap was for the guy who got shot in the head not her and there was a key already in the box to open it at the back. It’s one of my favorite traps because it’s simple and shows how desperation will cause common sense to leave one mind

Fun fact: the trap that Addison (the chick in the pink shirt) falls victim to was never meant for her. It was actually meant for Gus, the dude who got shot in the eye. It was implied that not only was he involved in embezzlement but was also quite abusive towards his loved ones. It would had explained why he acted the way he did and was so reckless. In the original script, Addison’s actual trap was described as being a waffle iron and she would have to burn her face to free herself since her hands would be trapped due to her basically being a sex worker/prostitute. That would had been wild to see had they had more time and budget to film that.

The first handful of movies in this series have so many twists it's so good number. Three has quite a few twists also and I think it was meant to be a trilogy, but after 3:00 there is a lot of backstory for what led John to this and how he came about certain people who were in traps and things like that. And there are things about how long Amanda has been with him. There's just a lot of backstory you find out and it's peppered in between traps of multiple movies 1, 2, and 3 are ones I could watch as a trilogy. The other ones I feel like they're not going to be ones I want to watch on their own. But I would definitely watch the whole series but they are not nearly as memorable. I'll just say that but they're still good. They're just not nearly as memorable as the first three now. Spiral which is amongst the sauce series. But it's not considered a song movie but it's from that world and it's a guy who comes like a decade or so after the fact. Yeah, you need to watch all of the song movies and make sure you watch them in order. You should probably go to the Wikipedia and look at the movies so you don't watch them in the wrong order. Actually you know what I'll do that now so you don't end up getting any spoilers on there cuz you know that's always a possibility... Okay, the order you have to watch the remaining movies in is the order they came out in and for the first few years there were saw movies coming out. They came out every year around October, the first one into 2004. The second one in 2005 next one in 2006. The one after that 2007 in 2008 2009 then there was a then 2010. Then there was a jump to 2017 then 2021 and the next one is coming out very soon You need to watch the remaining movies in the order. Saw three. Saw four. Saw five saw six. Saw the final chapter. Saw 7. Saw 3D. Whatever the f*** they want to call it then. Jigsaw then spiral from the book of Saw. Then you want to watch the brand new one that is coming out later this year. Trust me, I am a big fan of the sauce series. You will find out things that happened in all over the timeline but you have to watch him in order. It won't make sense. Otherwise. I have come across people trying to watch movies from a certain set of series in the wrong order and it's just not okay to do that. It does not work. You'll be missing vital information. And yeah there are things you find out in certain movies that you should know going forward and you might be spoiled in the later movies. Like if you were to watch Saw 3 before watching. Saw 2 and you just see Amanda doing her thing as the new jigsaw killer you'd be like what the f*** what's going on here? What did he do to her to have her do this now you have to see this movie and hear the explanation

The crazy thing about the furnace trap was that all he had to was grab 2 and crawl out of there but he got greedy

So I can't speak for everybody but i would assume that when you have been coughing up blood, knowing you are about to die, and obviously not in the right state of mind, it would be difficult to focus on every little task. So the girl that accidentally stumbled into the room and stuck her hand through the trap and dropped the antidote probably panicked and tried to salvage it without thinking.

At least John had the decency to give Daniel an oxygen mask for keeping him in that safe for a long time lol

The girl that put her hands in the trap, I don't get how people never see the state she is in? Obviously the toxin is messing her up badly, she can barely walk at that point yet alone have coherent thoughts.

This had one of my favorite twist endings & the hints were definitely there. All he had to do was follow the rules. Definitely react to SAW 3. I actually didn’t expect the ending with John in that one because of how many more movies there are, but I would’ve been fine if they just ended the series there. I haven’t seen the rest but I heard a lot of mixed reviews so I stopped after the 3rd.

Yes, John is very smart. He knew all along that Det Matthews is not just gonna sit there and wait because he's an impatient sh*t with anger issues 😂 Soooo good!
