I saw this in theaters the weekend of it's premiere and pretty much changed my mind on super hero Marvel comics movies at that time. The funny part about my first introduction to Blade was in the Spiderman Saturday morning cartoon of all places. Had Whistler, mentioned his mom etc all in a few episodes where they were hunting Morbius and Spiderman was in danger of becoming a spider monster. Then this R-rated movie comes out not too much later, Lol.

Blade is not fully a vampire, he is a hybrid, meaning he is half-human half-vampire. He has all of their strengths of a vampire and none of their weaknesses, except for the thirst of blood. That is why he and Whistler developed a serum for him, to suppress his thirst for blood.
@jordanpax9735 Жыл бұрын
Best part is about blade is that dude is basically going to to the fight against vampires at like half strength since when he actually feeds on blood he gets a major power boost. So him taking the serum instead of blood is him giving all the vamps a handicap lol

This movie did MATRIX before MATRIX, in terms of the look, the tone, the music, the clothes, the world beneath the real world, etc. Please continue with the trilogy… TRINITY in particular gets a lot of hate for some reason but I enjoy it. That one’s a proof of concept for Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool 😄
@antoniochasten3192 Жыл бұрын
I mean, yeah, films are subjective but my goodness, compared to the first two films, Trinity is easily the worst film out of the three, IMO. That film had a lot of problems. From the script to the director, the production and Wesley Snipes BTS drama.
@andrewwebb3248 Жыл бұрын
Completely agree that was proof Ryan Reynolds could do Deadpool. There's no way the color scheme was accidental for making the character..
@MrET-kr9zj Жыл бұрын
I think the main reason Trinity gets hate is bcuz Snipes hated doing it bcuz he hated Ryan Reynolds and the director and it's the weakest story of them all but still not a terrible movie it just doesn't have the same feel as the first 2
@antoniochasten3192 Жыл бұрын
@@MrET-kr9zj True that Snipes wasn't a fan of Reynolds and David Goyer as writer and director for the film but Trinity, IMO, just wasn't good at all. Blade is a classic and Blade 2 is a damn good sequel. Sure, the film had one or two decent action sequences that were entertaining but the best thing about Trinity was Parker Posey's Danica Talos and Ryan Reynolds Hannibal King. They stole the movie. For me, Blade Trinity is incoherent and way campier than the first two and is a terrible threequel follow up to the first two more superior films. Just my opinion.
@clonexx Жыл бұрын
Trinity was ok, but compared to Blade 1 and 2, it’s subpar. Ryan Reynolds saved the movie, as did Parker Posey. Their two roles were great. The rest was just….meh. However, it’s worth watching for Ryan Reynolds alone, because that man is just funny, period. I was so happy when he finally landed Deadpool. Just like Snipes was born to play Blade, Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. His humor is so on par with Deadpool’s that it’s eerie.

I wish we could see Wesley Snipes, Hugh Jackman, Tobey Maguire, & RDJ in Secret Wars before a multiversal reboot happens with recasts heading into the Mutant Saga. Throw in Patrick Stewart, Andrew Garfield, & Chris Evans and that would make for an iconic film with the OG 2000s heroes sharing screen time as pillars of the superhero genre.

He also did all his own stunts (except for a couple I believe the studio would just not let him do). I really wish Snipes would have been cast again in the Blade MCU movie, even if he played Whistler or some other character. I mean, he could probably still pull off being Blade himself, but, I don't know at this point anymore.

Great story about actor Donal Logue who played Quinn. He has an issue with his jaw where if he opens his mouth too wide or too quickly, his jaw will literally unhinge itself. So during the filming of the hospital scene where he's covered in the burn makeup and prosthetics, he opens his mouth too wide while screaming and it unhinges. So as you can imagine, no only can't he talk and tell everyone what the issue is, and he's in agonizing pain. So the crew understandable freaks out and drives him to the hospital, where the Doctors take one look at him and start screaming "OH MY GOD!!! GET HIM INTO THE BURN UNIT!!!" While the crew are trying to tell the Doctors that it's just makeup and they think something's wrong with his mouth. So the Doctors pop his jaw back into place and he goes back to set and it's all good after that.
