I’ve been diligently working, saving and contributing towards early retirement and financial freedom, but since covid outbreak, the economy so far has caused my portfolio to underperform, do I keep contributing to my 401k or look at alternative sectors to meet my goals?

It annoys me when people say the American Dream is dead because they show up to their minimum wage jobs, but aren’t millionaires. Thats never been the American Dream. I grew up poor and at times homeless. I left home at 13 to take my own path. I lived so frugally at one point my only furniture was a lawn chair and moving boxes, so I could save money to invest. Now I own 7 companies, have a large house, and I’m very well off and still growing. Too many people think the American Dream is getting rich without doing more than showing up to work.
@corieli9192Ай бұрын
Everyone's situation is different. I don't think everyone with a minimum wage job are the only people that feel like the American Dream is dead. There's many different situations, so just be grateful things worked out for you in the end but don't pass judgement on others. Not everyone who works hard succeeds. It's not just laziness.
@KolotajrАй бұрын
@@corieli9192this also feeds the concept that Americans are blinded and ungrateful for what they have, which weakens their ability to succeed. I could agree and say 80% of 9-5 not minimum wage, believe clocking in n out is going to make them rich. That’s jus not the way, yes everyones situation is different but that doesn’t pertain to the fact America is one of very very very few countries you can succeed and enjoy what you worked for
@corieli9192Ай бұрын
@@Kolotajr I dont think anyone disagrees that the US has better opportunities than some countries, but that has nothing to do with everyone having the ability to become wealthy. And if that's the case, every hard worker would be. It's unrealistic to think that, and socially disconnected to make the assumption that people who feel a certain way just haven't worked hard enough. There's nepotism, there's discrimination, luck, chance..etc.. Your vision is not the universal path. Everything is not what it seems, and all that glitters isn't gold.
@KolotajrАй бұрын
@@corieli9192 I feel like better opportunity would have a direct correlation on everyone’s success. We also have the ability to express free will opposed to other countries

@ang89252 ай бұрын
@@chickensinmotion6827 well, I know some stuff, but also here learning. There are pieces I'm not understanding, but technically no they are not wrong. Where it becomes blurry is when he says he pays no tax. After watching hours of his videos he never really defines that. No u do not pay income tax on rentals, because it is considered passive income...TO A POINT. Look up the irs definition of passive income. So what tax is he talking about? Keep educating yourself, stash as much cash as you can, keep your credit good, and keep watching the world-you can look at the spot price of gold and silver every day-wayxh the real estate market in ur area- watch what the FED is doing-what the markets are doing- etc. Robert does not recommend stocks, but S&P 500, something that pays dividends might be a starting point when stuff crashes. I believe if you pay attention and keep studying you will find the right opportunity at the right time! Maybe it is real estate maybe it's not. Warren Buffett is not an idiot, he didn't just go liquid for no reason, he's not even trying to happen he's just waiting for whenever the shoe drops
